A bit of a let-down unfortunately - from delivery to set-up to material quality. Delivery - despite booking a specific day, we got the delivery a few days early, which I guess was nice but I don't know what would have happened if we'd been away for the weekend (trusting the delivery would come when we booked it for); but then well after the time slot they'd given us. The guys who delivered were rude, no apology for being over an hour late, and when I pointed out one of the boxes was badly damaged - the whole top had ripped off - he responded "how should I know" and left. Construction - an absolute nightmare, took us two full, frustrating days. Other reviews have said the same and we should have listened - instructions were bare bones, leading to us using the wrong screws in one place and having to go out to try find new ones; and pilot holes were in completely the wrong place making parts, especially the headboard, super tricky to line up. Product - it is a beautiful bed but just feels like corners were cut in ways we wouldn't have expected for such an expensive object, like a silver screw and unfinished board being visible at the end of the bed (no, this isn't one of the parts we got wrong, it's just like that); and the back of the headboard being sharp metal that's damaged our walls (technically there are felt protectors, but these are tiny and just 'balanced' on the edge of the metal so quickly slip to the side). Also very creaky, which I'm sure is due to the warped wood we received, but hopefully will mellow over time. Design - the design is great, we love the integrated drawers and bedside tables; it's just a shame the execution isn't quite there for the price.

Customer service are fantastic. Beds are lovely and solid. But… I have ordered three beds from GLB. The first was a king size ottoman bed (and a small dog bed which is actually huge). Arrived as arranged, built easily, looks good. After a few days (I can’t remember exactly) one side of the bed split. Two of the interior legs were shorter than the other two (incorrect parts) which had put stress on the piston and one had shattered off at one side and split the wood. Customer service were great and arranged for replacement parts. This would not have happened if we had received the correct parts originally. The bed still squeaks really badly, customer service advised to oil the gas lifts, this helps for a few days only. We ordered a day bed from GLB for my son. While on holiday we had his room stripped and new carpet fitted. We returned home early in the morning with a plan to assemble his wardrobe and bed ready for that evening as a surprise. We assembled the wardrobes then started on the bed. We couldn’t assemble the bed as the screw cup washers were missing. My son is chronically unwell (awaiting transplant surgery) so sleeping on the floor was not an option! I contacted customer service who were lovely and offered to either send out the missing parts or reimburse me to purchase my own. Fortunately I had a couple of spare cups from the previous bed so knew the size needed. Not ideal after a long day of travel and building wardrobes but we went to B&Q and purchased the parts that were missing. The bed is lovely. The team at GLB are so lovely that the previous problems didn’t deter us from ordering another. I ordered a bed for my son, two weeks before my chosen delivery date. I chose the date specifically for several reasons - mostly because we had plans during the Easter holidays, but I wanted my son settled in his new bed before starting his GCSE exams next week. I booked delivery for 19th April. On 17th April I received notification from the delivery company that the bed would be delivered on 18th (Good Friday). We had lunch reservations at noon as a party of 12 so we couldn’t change our plans. Fortunately the bed arrived early so our plans were not interrupted. However, the box with the main bed parts was missing! I appreciate that it was a bank holiday weekend and GLB was mostly closed (customer services were lovely) but I am still waiting for an update about when I can expect the missing parcel. I was asked to open the parcels we did receive and photograph the contents laid out. This is hugely inconvenient but we did as requested, no response.

I am still evaluating the bed itself but I would like to share initial feedback about the assembly process. To describe the instructions provided as throughly useless and inadequate to meet the requirements of self assembly would be a understatement. It is as if you guys would like the buyer to screw up the assembly so you can probably deny warranty. To be specific. 1. Missing key steps in the assembly process. 2. Assembly instructions provided on multiple sheets not attached to each other leading to additional confusion. 3. No videos, photos even on the website explaining the process in detail. 4. Inconsistent markings and naming conventions on items leading to further confusion. How hard is it get this right? The entire experience was ruined due to you guys saving couple of bucks on providing clear instructions. Very disappointed and a bad start to a significant expensive investment in a bed.

Made of low quality material, not the same as shown on website; the price is too expensive for this type of bed. Some of the pieces have black knots with a hole.

Ordering process was easy but still hasn’t been delivered nearly a week after it was due. FedEx gave a four hour delivery slot but didn’t show up on time. Failed to deliver & just put card through door no redelivery attempted. Tracking app not working. Poor service overall quite disappointing

Missing 35mm screw. The solid oak beds state an electric screwdriver is required for assembly but this was not possible and I had to use a drill with a screwdriver attachment to put in the largest screws - even then one of the screws would not go in. This was particularly due to poor positioning of the screw holes meaning a screwdriver/drill could not be used perpendicularly to the holes. There are also several small scratches on the exterior of the oak which is disappointing considering the cost of the bed.

We were really disappointed with our experience with Get Laid Beds (GLB). We chose them as they were a UK company, the beds were handmade and we had heard positive feedback. Unfortunately there were a number of issues with our order/ experience and that has left us disappointed, to the point that to be honest it's ruined the bed for us a little as by the time it was useable, we were just so done with the whole thing. Do we have a bed? yes. Would I purchase here again? Uncertain. When our order arrived there was supposed to be a bedframe, mattress protector and mattress. When the delivery arrived however there was only the flat packed bedframe. The delivery men advised the order was complete and to speak to the company. We emailed GLB, but by lunchtime the next working day we still hadn't had a response so then rang them. The staff we spoke to were lovely and said this was an error from their side and they would arrange for our missing items to be delivered at a date convenient for us. We selected the day after next. The day arrived- no delivery. We rang up again and spoke to a different, equally lovely member of staff, explaining what had happened. They said they would get back to us as they needed to look into this. We eventually got an email advising of the same error and that they would arrange delivery. Over the next couple of weeks we had to repeatedly email GLB to chase them for updates, with the mattress protector arriving alone and then approximately 2 weeks after it should have been delivered the mattress. The staff we dealt with were very nice, we cannot stress that enough, and we did get the items we ordered as well as a refund of the delivery costs. However, this went on for over 2 weeks, with us having to chase for updates and by the time the bed arrived we were at a point of wishing we had just requested a refund and cancelled the mattress portion from the start. It should also be highlighted that the mattresses do not come 'rolled' so if you have not measured correctly in terms of route to the bed- good luck! Due to how far away we are from the company's base they could not offer the function where they build it for you, only flat pack delivery. This led to our next issue once all the parts required had arrived. My partner and I have built a lot of furniture over the years, including IKEA pieces. We are not novice furniture flat pack builders. The instructions for building the bed frame (4 poster ottoman) are the worst instructions we have ever tried to use. What was most frustrating about this, besides trying to decipher awful assembly instructions while trying to build a bed, was that some extremely simple amendments could have made them excellent assembly instructions- Colour images, labelling the bed parts and matching them to the parts of the instruction sheets, written guidance regarding when to do which part, or even better a printed web address link to a youtube video of them buidling the bed that you could follow along. The instructions being as poor as they were meant that it took us so much longer than necessary and some parts we had to undo to then redo because we had got the order wrong. We also ordered the black satin finish, but the images on the website and what is currently errected in our bedroom do not match up. It looks more of a dark walnut brown in colour. There was also some minor damage to the wood, we suspect from the couriers as they weren't exactly delicate. We could have gone back to GLB about it, but by that point we were very done with all of it and just wanted to put the whole experience behind us. Had we not had the issues with the delivery that we did and had the buidling process not be so frustrating and unnecessarily poor, this would have been a completely different review but we just can't get over how disappointed those things have left us.

I have had the delivery of the two beds this morning however, I wanted to raise a few concerns. Firstly, there was some damage to the Low Oriental Bed (Space Saver). Secondly, the instruction manual we received for the Low Tokyo Bed was incorrect, we managed to get it together in the end but it took use longer than expected due to the lack of resources.

Bed arrived as ordered and in the timeframe stated. Can’t fault the experience of ordering the bed. Good that you can make your bed just as you want picking each element. This is our second bed from Get Laid Beds for this reason. We had to assemble the bed and storage unit and this was made harder as some parts were not produced correctly and some parts were not labelled as the instructions said they would be. However we could resolve these issues without replacement parts. I just had to drill some new holes….

The customer service staff were friendly, and they were forthcoming in trying to arrange an order and delivery of a substitute mattress. However, 2 issues came up: - They initially told me the 3-year old mattress could be picked up and disposed of by the company, but a few days later I was told that information was wrong. - The delivery guys were TOTALLY unprepared and disorganised in their delivery. They texted me they would deliver the mattress between 1 and 3 pm on the day, but turned up by 5 pm. Then they asked me to help them carry the mattress. Finally, when I asked them to uncover the mattress so that I could see the product, they didn't have sissors nor were prepared with gloves to do that. The poor delivery guy agreed to help me, but it was clear they were not prepared for my request (which is strange, given that my request should be standard).

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m pleased to hear that our customer service team was friendly and helpful in trying to arrange your order and delivery. However, we apologise for the confusion regarding the unwanted mattress pick-up. It is disappointing to hear that the 3rd party delivery team delivered outside of their estimated time window. Unfortunately it is not standard for a 3rd party courier to open your packages for you, this service is only provided by our direct Assembly deliveries, and even they will keep the internal hygiene packaging intact on mattresses. We are sorry for any disappointment caused. We absolutely want our customers to have a smooth experience, and your comments will be passed to help us address these areas for improvement. If you have any further concerns or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Kind Regards, The Reviews Team

I bought a platform space saver bed for a 190 x 135 mattress. Generally ok, but a couple of comments: 1. The how to assemble instruction drawings are wrong. If you follow the 135 wide mattress will not fit. (Shows the correct way as a 'x' and wrong way as a 'tick'.) 2. Insufficient slats for correct spacing for pocket sprung mattress. Needs one more to get gaps below 70mm max. 3. The prefixed support batten for slats on long side makes installing screw difficult to install as can only install at an angle.

The frame looks nice, but the overall structural design is not the best. Some holes are not aligned, and the metallic pieces of the header make it difficult to place the bed next to a wall, as it will scratch it. After this, I am not inclined to recommend this brand.

Assembly of the headboard for the Kensington bed is unnecessarily time consuming. Why are there not pre-drilled holes in the three panels that make up the board. One week after assembly the feeling of annoyance is there every time I go to bed. I’m sure it will pass but it could easily have been avoided with some predrilled holes!

Great quality, well sanded wood finish, and overall very happy with the look. It seems very solid, albeit squeaky. The slats at about 10cm apart. Few problems putting it together as head and foot board pieces didn't fit/align well in order advised. We made do by spending time swapping bits around to improve fit and avoid gaps at edge of boards. The instructions arrived really wrinkled up, nearly being thrown away as packaging. Son very happy with his new bed though and I'm delighted it didn't give off any annoying smells, which new furniture often does.

Website: flashy/inviting. Sales team: excellent. Delivery: excellent. Assembly instructions: lamentably poor, small diagrams, poorly reproduced - not sure how "Los Americanos" get on. Design/construction: despite the catchy name and promise of "externally-constructed toilet" sturdiness, I was left underwhelmed. The parts were incorrectly labeled; (supposedly) matching lengths were cut/machined to different lengths such that when correctly and carefully assembled, there were visible gaps (and yes, I have a proficient engineering background and matching dexterity to have assembled this bed painstakingly). Overall: our old bed, bought beside the road in Uganda and assembled/disassembled using 4 x M10mm nuts and bolts, but replaced because the replacement mattress size is unavailable in UK, was a far beefier and more solid example. This company infer solidity but deliver an "Ikea-ish" result for flashy/"folksy" promise and over-optimistic pricing. Mt recommendation is to buy elsewhere.

I was so excited for our new bed to arrive. I wanted a good sturdy superking. Upon arrival we assembled it and much to our dismay there was no center support. There it a “t “ plank to cross under the slats, but the span of the bed, being a super king and very wide, is too far a distance to offer proper support with the pine slats provided. The entire bed slats and cross support sagged and bowed terribly. They are made of pine and very soft and flexible. Probably not the best material, especially when the company prides itself on the sturdiness. We ended up buying center leg supports on Amazon and installing them. It’s certainly helped. We are not large people at all. I can’t imagine if a larger person or two bought this bed. The exterior frame is solid and nice, and if you bought a double or smaller, I’m sure it would be fine. But adjustments in design are necessary when you have a six foot wide bed with regard to center support. Overall I’m disappointed out of the box with quality. Once we spent extra money and time installing the center support, it’s fine. However, I didn’t pay for a bed to spend more money to modify it after the fact. I wouldn’t recommend. I’m keeping it because we found a modification to remedy the issue, but certainly not what I expected given how they advertise how “sturdy” the beds are.

Hello Jessica, Thank you for your review and for sharing your thoughts! We’re thrilled to hear you’re happy with the product quality.
