This review is in progress, as the issues I have highlighted with Lewis at Customer Services are currently being dealt with, I hope. My main issue is with the spec of the product.

Get laid beds are reliable and make nice bed frames which we have previously ordered for tenants who have been happy with these. WE recently ordered a single simplicity matress for a spare room bed, our guest has been hapy with it but on needing to use this matress ourselves, we are not impressed. It is not sufficiently firm supportive for a really good night's sleep. Sadly though it has barely been used, we are not allowed to exchange it for upgrade. This is disappointing as the matress has only been slept on for 10 nights in total and has beeen fully protected.

Thank you for your second review. The mattress you have opted for is classed as a Medium a per the website. We are sorry to hear that it was not to your liking but glad to hear your guests found it comfortable. Due to hygiene reasons we are unable to accept returns of opened mattresses unless they are covered by our 100 night trial. Kind Regards, The Escalations Team.

Bed is ok. Not as good quality as I expect for the price. Instructions are very poor. Parts were meant to be labelled and they were not.

The 2 beds are of reasonable quality but some joints were a loose fit so difficult to keep the bed square. The main problem was the promised delivery came with only 5 of the 6 boxes. The 6th box came 3 days later which meant we had to delay our holiday departure time. The help line was unsympathetic and unable to bring the 2nd delivery forward.

It arrived on time, with a young courier that wasn't keen to take the packages up 2 flights of stairs, so that was on me. The bed frame seemed to narrow at the head end, preventing the top slat from going in without 15 mins of sanding. I paid the extra £14 for felt floor protectors, which did not arrive, and when I reported this via email I received no response after 2 weeks now.

Hi Gary, Thank you for your review. You selected our flat packed service. This service, from a 3rd party courier, only covers delivery to the main entrance of the building, whether it be the front door of a house or the main entrance door of an apartment complex. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. We offered to post or refund your missing felt pads. You opted for the refund of the £7 paid. Our response to your email on July 19th was delayed by 5 business days, as it had not reached us until you sent a follow-up. As in the email response, we sincerely apologise for our lack of knowledge regarding the non-receipt of your original communication prior to your follow-up. It is beyond our abilities to know the status of emails that we have not received. Please accept our apologies for any misunderstandings or frustrations caused to you. Kind Regards, The Escalations Team

I opted for the self assembly. Extremely disappointed with the instructions. Very confusing to follow. Also, I had a bag of screws that were not needed. And what is the metal coat hanger shaped thing? Again, no instructions!

I was very disappointed in this Ottoman bed. The price is for a premium item, but the quality was only just acceptable. I am highly experienced and confident at building furniture but the instructions for this build are truly atrocious (at one point an illustration shows screws entering the incorrect holes), and some of the pilot holes were drilled so poorly that it was impossible to assemble components straight. We got there in the end, but with blood, sweat and tears. Definitely would not recommend, and would not buy from Get Laid Beds again.

inpossible to put together so far. The wood is so hard that using my electric screwdriver has blunted all the screws as the wood is so hard, and the holes only have drilled, so sewing into them has left blunt screws wedged half in and half out, and I have had to use pliers to twist them out. Now I need to get new screws to replace them and find another method to assemble the bed. Still sleeping on the floor weeks after it's delivered. Considering the price, having just moved into my first home and buying myfirst bed after always renting, I am very disappointed. I had always wanted my first bed to come from this company.

Good Morning, We are very sorry to see you are having issues assembling your bed you received 4 days ago. There hasn't been any contact from you to the customer service team requesting help. They may be able to offer assistance on how to assemble the bed over the phone or, if needed, they will request images or videos of what's occurring so they can offer further advise. Please do contact the customer service team directly as we are unable to assist through reviews. Kind Regards, The Escalations Team.

After a fair amount of back and forth with the support team we finally have a bed frame that meets our requirements. The support team are friendly and responsive, however the company is let down on the manufacturing side, with items not being made to the right size. Delivery with FedX first time around didn't work well, however the second time around it did. The last thing is to say is be careful when ordering your bedframe as they advertise British and EU frame sizes, except manufacturers in the UK are making Kingsize and Super Kingsize mattresses which are the same length as EU mattresses (200cm). The frame we bought is very minimalist as so that extra 2 cm means the difference between a snug fit and a very snug fit with no space for your sheets!

Little bit disappointed to be honest. It’s quite squeaky I would have thought it would be steardy but it’s the opposite. Especially for the money

The beds are well designed and fit for purpose, but they are not quite as well crafted as I had anticipated, based on my one purchase. For example, why are there so many screws required when there is a tenon and mortise joint at every junction? If the tolerances for both were tighter, one wonders whether screws would be needed at all. (Dowels or similar instead?) With respect to the screws, one would need to be Tarzan to screw those provided into the inadequately sized pre-drilled holes. I had to drill all these holes out to a larger diameter so that I could use a manual screwdriver. (Note that even my electric drill couldn’t cope with the original task.) There are a couple of minor chips on the headboard panels near the cuts, which themselves are somewhat scruffy. The bed once assembled is attractive, and I’m happy with my choices such as tapered legs. One of the three boxes arrived one day later than the other two. For someone who had taken time off work to receive their delivery and start assembly (especially where one’s old bed has been confidently dismantled or even thrown away, this could be a nightmare. In my case I had to sleep one night on a mattress on the floor.

Rails not labelled as instructions suggest. Very difficult to get screws into rails ( positioning of holes makes it difficult to get screws in with electric screwdriver/ normal screwdriver). Some marks/ dents on legs. Possibly damaged during delivery. Wood & carpentry is of good quality. Pre drilled holes on rails for slats would be a good idea. Overall, not sure I would order again

I ordered the White Knight space saver bed with a storage drawer as a small double, as it was the only bed I could find with such a small width and storage options. I am really pleased with it now and it is extremely good quality but there were issues with the delivery, putting it together and the instructions provided. *the delivery date was changed suddenly to a day later, four days before the bed was due. After a call and a few emails I eventually got it on the correct day. I felt a bit perturbed when I was told I should have expected this as the order was due to be delivered near a bank holiday! *I had to borrow a drill to put the bed together. The screws in the headboard would only go half way in by hand. My electric screwdriver wasn’t powerful enough either. *Considering this is a British company, the instructions provided were slightly bizarre and not very detailed. There were a number of typos (conect preasembled headboard) and the storage drawer instructions had a section which repeated and referred to the front of the drawer when it meant the back (steps 2&3). The instructions also referred to the slats being labelled as inner and outer but mine had no labelling so I think I put it together incorrectly.

Good quality bed and easy to build. Note of caution, we bought a standard double bed base but when we put our Simba mattress on there was a 6cm gap at the end of the bed and 3cm at the side. See pics

I really wanted to add to your 5 star reviews because i absolutely love the concept of hand crafted British made beds. I especially loved the opportunity to choose low space saver beds as our teenage son suffers with seizures and periods of immobility which make a low level bed far safer for him. He was very happy and excited to choose and order his bed from getlaidbeds and because I wanted it to be perfect for him we had arranged for the bed to be constructed by the delivery team. The delivery happened on the morning as planned but unfortunately the slats it came with had been cut 2cm too long and so the build could not go ahead. We were left with the frame and a promise that slats would be prioritised and customer services would be in touch. However we would now be waiting for monday for the slats to be courier delivered and we would be waiting even longer if we wanted the bed to be built. Not wanting my son to need to wait any longer for the bed, i decided i would build the bed myself once the slats arrived. The build cost of £70 would be refunded. However monday came and by 2.30 i hadn’t heard from anyone notifying me of a time to expect the courier so i called Getlaidbeds customer services. It seemed another error had occurred with the courier and now i would be waiting till tuesday for the slats. Each person i spoke to at the company has been polite but i do feel disappointed by our experience..As yet i am unable to review the bed.

The bed is OK, but for the price I expected better. However, only 18 of 90 (20%) of the screws and screw cups were delivered. I was offered next day delivery for the missing hardware, which meant completion of my son's bedroom would be delayed (bearing in mind everything was timed for during school half term), or I could purchase the hardware myself up to the value of £10. Because there was so many missing, the hardware cost ~£15 and additional compensation has been declined. So, I recommend you don't plan to build any Get Laid Beds product on the day of delivery, or, be prepared for a trip to screwfix and some unexpected costs, frustration and admin.

When ordeing the bed I specified a date as this was a present for my son. Upon delivery only 3 of the 4 parcels turned up. The 4th was lost. It took a lot of emails, phone calls and messages to GLB and Panther. I also had to escalate this within GLB as the responses given were poor. I did manage to get it delivered within the week, but sadly not in time for the birthday. The quality is good, and it was easy to put together. Not sure I would put myself through this again.
