“Really sturdy bed frame but the wood wasn't as smooth a finish as expected. Instructions could have been more explanatory made a few mistakes but got there in the end. Very pleasant and helpful staff from beginning to end of process. Thank you.”

“I have 2 other Kingsize beds from Get Laid Beds earlier, which are still in use and were very satisfied with them, however the 2 single beds received this time are of significant lower quality in engineering. The headboard pillers have some mesurement issues where the side rails are about 5-7 mm nrrower at the headboard side compared to footboard. To an extent, that the slats had to be literally forced in between the side rails in the headboard side and have 5 mm gaps at the footboard side. Anyway, we somehow managed to assemble them but disappointed as a returning customer.”

“Abysmal instructions & poor attention to detail made this a stressful assembly. None of the wooden parts have any labels / numbers or anything so you have to go by the instructions, which are bad - only pictures so no words to assist, the print quality was poor as well which didn't help with some of the (already sparse) detail. Worse - multiple parts were not drilled correctly or where things needed to go was ambiguous- it took maybe twice as long to assemble. Centre plank - this (I hope) sits along the middle vertical plank that holds the head and foot ends together - The plank is longer than those it sits on... but the insturctions indicate it is the same length, I've guessed it needs to be equal end sticking out. Instructions indicated using 3 screws down the middle but there were no pilot drills. The foot end part had no hole drilled on one end of it. The other one was unfinished (not countersunk). Some of the slats were not drilled, or not all the way through. The holes for the headboard (several, on a pattern to match a metal bracket which fits between the bed base and the headboard) were drilled on the outside, not the inside (where the bracket should mount) of the side rails. these were several holes that a metal bracket fixes to, and there is no other way the rails go around (one side is the outside of the bed, and the other side has a recess to allow the slats forming the bed base in it). So these holes are visible, and I had to work out / clamp the mounting etc. to get the headboard on. For the headboard there are some black screws? these are not usual wood screws with a countsunk head and I assume these are for the headboard where they mount to the metal frame - instructions have pictures of the same screws as the rest of the build - not even coloured black, or a note. You just need to guess? Does nobody assemble these at home? To be honest, I'm still not 100% sure this is built properly as it creakes rather more than I'd like when getting in / out of bed. I ordered 2 of the underbed storage options - mecifully the instructions were quite a lot better and I think there was only one part that wasn't drilled properly. In all - if I'd known how the quality issues before spending a few hours assembling this, (after removing my old bed, of course) I would have sent it back. For around £1K things should be properly finished, and the instructions should be accurate - this was like all the things people hate about flat pack furniture. It looks nice and it's comfortable to sleep on, but next time I'll go to Ikea.”

“Order was processed and delivered within two weeks. Bed is really nice. Only downside were the instructions which were missing a lot of detail which led to guessing and making mistakes. Apart from that I'm really pleased and would buy from them again.”

“Had high hopes here for the floating bed, custom made extra long for a tall person at . The wrong legs were sent - also all different sizes and I was informed that a centimetre difference in height was within normal limits. The company gave me a £50 refund and sent the new legs a week later. Then discovered that some of the holes in the frame were drilled in the wrong place so the bed was totally misaligned and I had to deconstruct, re-align and reconstruct with new holes. The bed creaks despite careful construction. This is just not a bespoke object. Wouldn’t buy from this firm again.”

“Bought Oxford bed with adjustable bed base and the (only available) recommended adjustable mattress for disabled friend. Bed base is fine (bought one previously) . Extremely unhappy with the mattress. It is way too thick. This makes transfer into the bed very difficult. It does not conform properly so it throws off deep fitted sheets every day, not good if you are disabled. In addition the fat mattress makes the bed look hideous.”

“BED-easy to assemble although instructions kindly emailed to me on request did not match those which came with the bed; luckily they explained the labelling which allowed the correct ends to be matched when assembling. Those which came with the bed were of limited use. We were surprised that no holes were pre-drilled on the support rail for the slats which meant measuring spaces before placing and fixing them. Also, the slats could be a few mm longer but this does not affect assembly or use. The bed seems sturdy and the frame is nicely made. We bought an oak, space-saver, platform bed and its minimal design and size work very well in our rather small room. It's just what we wanted. DELIVERY-we were notified by text and email late the evening before delivery but on arrival only 2 of the 3 boxes were there. We were given some story which we realised later wasn't credible [the person delivering was repeating what she'd been told]. Nearly a dozen phone calls led to the missing box coming on Wednesday resulting in 5 nights sleeping on the mattress on the floor - not so easy when you're in your 70s. The guys bringing the box from the depot to us [a journey of about 90 minutes] seemed surprised it hadn't been brought sooner. The people at Get Laid Beds who dealt with delivery enquries were pleasant and helpful but I sensed surprise when I sought compensation and a proper apology. I have now had both but the compensation was given rather than offered for my acceptance and was, perhaps, a touch grudging. The apology from a manager was full and seemed genuine. The courier used is the choice of GLB and any delivery issues are the responsibility of GLB. They have said they will review so hopefully future deliveries will be trouble free. Based on our experience I have given 4 rather than 5 stars. I communicated by email and phone - the question below should allow all options to be selected. Speed of replies varied but were within a resonable timeframe. But it should ask how quickly - not quick.”

“My bed arrived exactly on time and well packaged. I did the construction myself, the end result is attractive and sturdy. Only a screwdriver with a PZ2 bit was needed. I'm very happy with the bed. The instructions could be better, it would be good if they stated the correct spacing for the mattress support slats, or even better would be if the side rails were marked up. As it is, you have to measure up and work it out for yourself.”

“The representative guided us through the process of deciding on the most suitable size, design and timber for our bed. Samples of beds and wood finishes were all on display to aid decision making. Communication regarding the delivery was efficient and the team arrived on schedule with the bed. Beautiful finish of the oak frame. The mattress is very comfortable. Fit for a king!”

“Get Laid Beds has a good selection of no-nonsense wooden bed frames, with a fantastic range of wood colours so that you can match your bed to your furniture. When I rang to query slat spacings, George was super friendly and helpful and I was able to order two extra slats. The bed was straightforward to assemble and is lovely and solid. Very happy with our new bed!”
