I have used Groupon only once in my life and that will be the last time. I used their services about 2 and 1/2 years ago when my Wife and I got married. Even though we are doing better financially now at the time we were really struggling as my wife moved to C. A. based on a job offer that was willing to pay for her real estate license that turned out to be totally B.S. and I was already living here. I was also in the middle of selling my consulting business and was supposed to be absorbed into the, much larger, purchaser. Well they just turned out to be thiefs and managed to use my contacts to push me and my 3 guys out of both the Airport and Gas station industry. We went from collectively making well over 200k a year and expecting 100k of liquid assets to making 15 to 17 an hour. We had both given up so much but were still happier than we had ever been. Well I saw a deal for one of those fancy salons for a cut, and color and shampoo for only ~30 dollars on a specific day. I tried to keep it a secret but ended up letting it slip(as always). She was so excited to have just a bit of normalcy in her life that she cried with joy the morning of. SO... We get there and the salon let's us know that Groupon put the wrong date and the deal was over. We ended up paying for it and I just went without cigarettes, lunch or my morning gas station coffee for a long while, it was completely worth it. I wasn't even really upset at this point, what was beyond engaging though is that it took Groupon over two weeks to refund the money to us, and after paying for that haircut we needed it, we were hurting. I explained this to Groupon and their response was to Lie by saying it should be back in a few days and on future calls they would blame it on our bank, which is pretty much a direct translation of corporate lemming speak for "f you, they don't pay me enough to care". I wasn't going to post a review until I saw how common this was

I was charged twice for a purchase. When I called back to address the situation the customer service representative told me I would get my money back in 7-10 business days. Its be 3 wks and I have yet to see the refund in my account. So I called back and the person I spoke said they couldn't help me because the computer showed they had already issued the refund. Its been It's been 22 days since they supposedly refunded my money, but I am yet to see the transaction appear in my account. Groupon basically rifled $122.38 from me. This is the last tine I ever purchase anything from Groupon.

Suspended my account for no good reason, locked me out of my purchased Groupons until they expired! After contacting the press they finally reinstated my account but have not compensated me for my losses. Disgusting Company.

Charged me for the same item twice then said they wouldn't refund me and my only option was to give the extra item away as a gift....horrible and rude

Clearly quoted in an email at point of order confirmation that an email would be sent when dispatched. Twice this didn't happen. They then quote that they don't do it yet its in writing. If I had known both times I would have been at home to receive the delivery. First time I had to go and collect myself. Second time the carrier left delivery out in the rain. They will only investigate if it happens again with the carrier. Assumptions are that I will never get a reason for the non sending of email or the conversion with the carrier. They also quote that they will reply within 24 hours, so 66 hours is way above stated.

I have used Groupon for a couple of years but will not be using them again. I ordered and paid for a Rattan garden furniture set for £284 on July 6th, it never arrived And it took6 weeks for the money to be refunded. They used every excuse in the book to hold onto our monies, if there were another 1000 customers receiving the same treatment their cash flow would look very healthy!!!! I telephoned many times, encountered some very rude Groupon Staff and one dreadfully unprofessional manager called Paul. They were still advertising the product so it would have been easy to send us a replacement but no, they neither replaced or refunded for a long time. If you want cheap and cheerful use them, however, if you are spending more than £50 go for a professional company and leave Groupon alone. We eventually ordered a set of furniture from another company and it was delivered the following day, no question who we will use next time!!! Groupon are rubbish, leave them alone, that's the best advice I can give you. Advice for Groupon !!! Behave in a professional manner, don't retain customer funds with no reason, if you have lost the product it is YOUR fault and you should apologise and reimburse in a timely fashion. You should be ashamed of the bad service and you should aim to employ professional staff and provide a good service, your reputation is dreadful and you should be ashamed.

Sadly Groupon doesn't seem to perform any vetting of the companies it does business with. I had a voucher for 6 sessions of IPL hair removal. The first visit was supposed to be consultation and patch test, which was just wordlessly zapping a small area of my neck, it went downhill from there. I started to receive strange illiterate texts from the company's receptionist saying I had to drive to the other side of Glasgow due to floods? Anyway, after eventually finding out the new location I went to this odd semi-abandoned industrial estate where I had the first full session, not too bad, but not great either. The next visit was to their original premises to find the company was gone. It took 8 weeks to get my money back from Groupon. I thought - not Groupon's fault about the dodgy IPL company so still looked at goods purchases. The "savings" they quote have no basis in fact. The quality of goods, if they even arrive, is often very poor. I had some "Calvin Kline" lipsticks that were just cheap rubbish with CK stickers on them - not CK quality at all. A dress I ordered never turned up - though I did get a refund for that. Unfortunately you take rather a large risk with any Groupon purchase, not an experience worth the hassle.

We booked a mystery weekend with groupon getaways. It was advertised as for 2 nights £99 or £139 for 3 nights. Due to the two nights being fully booked, we opted for a 3 night stay. The agent called me and informed me that we would have to leave from Stanstead at 10.30pm arriving to Budapest at midnight without transfers and leaving Budapest at 6.30am. Hardly a 3 night stay when 1 night meant as soon as we landed and the other hardly worth sleeping when we had to be at the airport at 4.30am. I explained to the agent that this would not be possible. He then went on to charge us £40 each extra for normal flight times. We paid the extra money and received our confirmation. We have since found out that it would have been cheaper to book direct with Ryanair and the hotel. Always check before confirming with groupon as they are more expensive than booking directly. We are due to go in 2 weeks’ time, but have lost a lot of faith in groupon. Am not expecting much once we arrive. After finding out the name of our hotel, and trip adviser-ing it, it doesn’t sound too good! I won’t be using groupon getaways again that’s for sure.

I won't be purchasing anything with Groupon anytime soon. I've heard nothing but horror stories about hidden rules hindering people from actually using their Groupon vouchers and now I"ve experienced it for myself. I tried to purchase tickets to Drayton Manor for my family of 4 and I got so confused by all the small print. There were all these stipulations and rules on when you could use the tickets so I read through it several times to be sure we would be able to use the tickets. Although the package said it was good for about 3 months there was really only about 15 days where you could use the tickets. We ended up not be able to use them because in the end it rained and they wouldn't allow us a rain check. My kids were really disappointed and I'm still mad about it!.

I placed two order with Groupon, both times I was disappointed. I didn't get either delivery until 3 weeks later and all the other online merchants that I deal with take 2-3 days. I don't understand how they can run a business like this!

I ordered a gift for a friend for her birthday and after 10 days it hadn't shown up. I contacted Groupon asking where things went wrong so I could follow up with the right person and after being on hold for 30 minutes I was told that they would look into it and get back to me. I never heard from them again and when I called back five days later they had no record of me calling in the first place. They charged me the day the sale took place too which they are not supposed to do. There are much beter places to shop, with less loopholes and better customer service!
