Sold a product over the phone after spending 45 mins chatting to an advisor. Booked car in, when arrived after calling to check that I was booked in I was told they could not do the work. I was also told that I needed something else as part of the package which was not mentioned on the call, this was three times the price what I already paid. The manager was unsympathetic, he could see I was distressed after wasting so much time and with a toddler in toe! Called again to complain and asked that this be looked at asap, advisor seemed to listen but had no call back and it’s now been 4 weeks. Shocking business, disjointed call centre, on premise staff have a lack of customer service skills and unable to deal with complaints.

Customer service non existent! I’ve called at least 10 times to resolve a minor issue and each time I’m promised a call back which has yet happened! This has been going on for nearly 2 weeks now. Im just relieved it’s not a big issue that needs resolving. So frustrating. Why on earth can’t people to their job properly?

Never Again! Took our car in for 4 new tyres at Halfords ended up with 2 alloy wheels damaged, under-seal ripped off underneath and left dangling, (which according to Halfords was the cars fault? Manager confrontational attitude problem) and to top it all found they had rummaged through the glove box and personal property to find the service manual to check when the next service was due? (Excuse: looking for the wheel nut) was sent down the road to a wheel repair shop who told us it needed a diamond cutter company to repair it? Also: that we were the 3rd car this week with the same problem sent from Halfords. Contacted there head office several times not interested no reply from them at all, what a bunch of cowboys should hold their heads in shame. Spent over 2 days running about / over 100 miles and taken 5 weeks to sort out at another branch and now after over 3 months still waiting for them to complete their investigations so they say? Now we have ended up with 2 shiny refurbished wheels and 2 dull ones. Beware people not a professional company with little or no respect of people’s property, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!

Halfords in general, when in store, is generally good. Staff helpful, good service, etc. But the call Center to get through to one of those stores, is AWFUL! Let’s the entire brand down and provides terrible customer service.

I had new brake pads fitted on my ebike 3 months ago. The brakes began to fail while going downhill. Took it to a local bike shop and was told that they were the wrong size, meant for large wheels. and not fitted correctly. This could have resulted in a bad accident. Needless to say I will be using the bike shop from now on!

Hello sorry should be a red star. went to my local branch to look at car batteries whish i never went now. confronted by a young teen tell me i should go for the halford battery range as they are the best and have a 4 year warranty. so since have this new best battery my car has been slow turning over so i went into halfords coalville when i was told i won't bother testing your battery as it would be you starter motor. so i asked if they could sort this out but no. so i went to a local garage and they tested the battery and it was lower than it should so i went back and asked for my battery to be tested, and they said they would have to charge it up and then test it, which they did and it passed now it doing it again. told the battery was damaged before and this does not cover a replacement still in 4 year warranty, told nothing we can do. battery failed all other tests but not at halfords.

Please read as Halfords refused to accept this to their website : Can’t review the product as I never received it! Daughter called into Halfords on my behalf and after waiting for over 20 minutes in store was told the order had been cancelled and money refunded. Interesting as I had no message informing me of this cancellation. So wasted trip. Still waiting for the refund 3 weeks later. Not holding my breath and to be honest for the sake of £7.99 it’s not worth my time waiting on hold for the appalling lack of service. The one star review isn’t for the product, this is not Drapers fault. It’s a one star review for Halfords. If I could give less I would. Not that it matters but I will not shop in Halfords again

We purchased 2 electric bikes right at the end of November, spending £2500.00, as we have been unable to use the bikes they have been sat in our dining room until yesterday. My husband took them both outside to see what they rode like, the ladies bike battery failed, on taking the battery back for exchange the manager was extremely unhelpful and more or less said that we had damaged it. I am now unable to ride the bike as the battery has been "sent away for testing" disgusting service.

I had a horrible experience when I visited Halfords in Lancaster. I had to go in twice to enquire about the battery they had fitted. The second time I went in I had breakdown rescue with me and they had run a test on the battery which said that the battery needed to be replaced. Halfords ran the test using their equipment and said the battery was fine. They begrudgingly agreed to change the battery anyway but not before condescendingly questioning why I had ‘ignored’ him last time about purchasing a battery charger and then going on to rant at me saying that I had ‘misused the battery’, and if this happened again with the new battery they would not help (verbatim). This actually brought me close to tears. The way he spoke to me was disgusting customer service! He actually said that he would not help me if this happens again! I won’t be going to Halfords again and I will let my friends know the same. I am genuinely disgusted.

Booked an at home oil service. First visit was cancelled half an hour before as they didn’t have the part (after me waiting in). 2nd visit it was the wrong part. 3rd visit right part but not the right tools. I had to call for the refund. Not a good experience at all.

I’m about to take Halfords to court over them fitting a battery incorrectly which left me without a car for two days before Xmas. Despite evidence to prove that it was their fault they are refusing to discuss it other than closing the case. Absolutely arrogant and clueless about what they are talking about. I teach and train vehicle diagnostics and have the evidence to prove my case. I’ve asked to be put in touch with the CEO office and they refuse to give me the contact information, as if it’s a secret. Well Halfords, you will sincerely regret this stance. Disgraceful.

“He’s not trained to use the phone” - tried speaking to someone about my failed MOT as I couldn’t see what was wrong with the headlight (supposedly dipping but both looked the same, so I was curious) - was told I couldn’t speak to the person as they weren’t trained to use the phone. Absolute joke.

My first ever racist encounter since I have settled in the United Kingdom 11 years ago according to the auto repair service man "Steve" at Halfords Charlton my people need to start learning when to be their on time and he is so helpful that he called two mechanics to stand at the office window while I'm in my car waving at me saying (merry Christmas f*CK you don't come back) which most probably will never happen since I felt sincere fear for my safety after the three of them ganged up together

This is a conversation I have just had with a member of Halfords via online chat. I've been told I need an appointment to attend the Autocentre, the same way I did when I had my lights fitted. I couldn't just turn up. This staff member advised otherwise. I'm utterly appalled at the attitude and threats made by this idiot. This person did not want to disclose where they were based in order for me to make a complaint and instead resorted to threats and warnings about ending the conversation. Spent the whole conversation arguing back. This was after having the most horrendous phone call to someone who couldn't speak clear English. Tyler:Hi, my name is Tyler. How can I help you today? Tyler:Welcome to Halfords Live Chat, you are through to Tyler. How can I help you today? Me:Hi, I purchased 2 headlights and had them fitted by a Halfords store. One of the headlights is now faulty. I'm looking to arrange a time for a Halfords member of staff to fix it? Tyler:Oh dear! So so sorry about that. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Tyler:In this regard you would need to just go down to the store for this. Tyler:As you do not need an appointment for this. Tyler:This is a walk in service. Me:I was told I would need to book an appointment at an Autocentre. This would be to replace the bulb if faulty and to look at the wiring if it still wasn't fixed. Tyler:I understand however please do see what I have advised above Tyler:You do not need an appointment at the store for this. Tyler:If you are needing to contact the autocentre you would need to contact them via phone. Me:Tried the phone option and it was horrendous. No one spoke English. Tyler:that is not possible, you might have phoned the wrong number. Me:Well I'm telling you it is possible because I experienced it. I definitely phoned the correct number because I wasted 40 mins on the call. Tyler:If you have contacted Halfords it is impossible to get through to somebody who does not speak english. Me:I hope you are right about not needing an appointment. Can I ask where you are based? Tyler:As all our members are fluent english speakers. Tyler:I am at the head office. Me: Which is where? Me:What City, country? Tyler:Also for the sake of progress what is your post code so that I can provide you with the correct contact number? Me:Can you answer my question? This isnt helping. Tyler:How is this not helping? Tyler:I am wanting to help you by providing you with the number to contact the autocentre so that you can get your light bulbs fixed? Me:Im very capable of finding the number. Its on google, and I already called it. Can you answer my question? Tyler:However you are not providing me the information required to steer you in the right direction also if we do continue to go around in circles I would need to terminate the chat. Tyler:I am wanting to help you by providing you with the number to contact the autocenter so that you can get your light bulbs fixed? Tyler:Could you provide me with the post code? Me:This whole conversation is being recorded. Your only making this worse for yourself when I submit a complaint. The fact that you can't even answer what City or Country your speaking form is appalling. Tyler:we are going around in circles. Tyler:Also I would need to terminate the chat on this basis. Me:Yes we are, and you are supposed to be customer service. Me:That's fine, making threats now and still not answering my question. Tyler:As I have now tried to help you however you have failed to provide the information so that I could provide the auto centre details for you to get your bulb sorted. Me:Absolute disgraceful service. Tyler:I have now warned you on two occasions, this does appear that you do not want help so I will be terminating the chat on the basis that we are going around in circles. Me:Answer the question, what city and country are you based? Tyler:Where we are based is irrelevant to getting your light bulb fixed. Me:You have 'warned' me have you? Another threat. Shocking way to speak to a customer. Tyler:Chat terminated
