Overcharged by over 33% but unable to use their price match policy because they fail to send the emailed receipt that’s needed to claim. Won’t be using them again.

Purchased 2 Halfords exodus roof mounted cycle carriers in August Used the product twice, and on the second occasion traveling home down the motorway one of the cycle wheel straps failed causing the bike to become insecure and rotating backwards smashing through the rear windscreen of the car. Fortunately there was only my vehicle involved at this time but it could of very easily been a different outcome. I no longer have the carriers as I returned both of them as I believe they are a Dangerous product,Halfords are refusing to pay the cost of the windscreen. After the incident I found one wheel strap to fail locking into position and the teeth slipping out causing a insecure load. I later found out that this product earlier on in the year had been recalled for a very similar defect if not the same but Halfords deny this. So been left with damaged car ,bike and lots of broken glass to clean up along with a hefty windscreen bill!

Went into store to look at dash cams for a new car I was buying. Assistant told me I could order and book on line to have it fitted.....so I booked it and paid. I went to the Stoke branch today and even though I’d booked and been given a time of 8-30am, they had no one to fit it. To cut a very long story short, I contacted Customer services who were less than helpful, just passing me from one person to another....getting nowhere and all of them blaming the fact that I’d booked on line. In the end I requested a refund.....we will see if I get one. But Service was terrible.

I bout a stop start battery for my DS4 which they said was the right one for my car as they looked it up on the computer .It was fitted i paid for it which was 154.38 pence.i have gone home the next day i have gone to car and started it up the next thing is i have light coming on the dash ever were , and i also have bulbs blowing ever were and then it comes up on the dash that there is a engine fault , coming up as battery fault.so i have stop the car and called a mate of mine so how came around with a snap on DI/KIT . we put this on too my car and started it.it came up that it was not the right battery because it was being charged to 127 per cent and it had done something too the BSI unit.so now i am not a happy man i have gone back too halford and i was told it was not there fault because the computer said it was the right one for the car it took me over two hours too get them to chance the battery for another one and get some money back. But i still have to get my bsi unit done

Do not, under any circumstances buy a bike from this company. When they make a mistake whilst building the bike, which is not immediately visible at the time, they categorically refuse to admit blame. They blame the customer for the damage, even when you’ve paid them extra for a service plan, and had absolutely no need or desire to have made any adjustments to have caused the damage. Also, they don’t care if they supply the incorrect size bike, expecting someone to know if it’s correct from just sitting on a bike in the shop. Absolutely appalling customer service, who rely upon the disgruntled customer to not bother spending even money on taking them to court.

Bought a bike and was told a load of rubbish when I went to collect it ( they didn`t phone when they said they would ) I phoned them and was told it was ready ?? then had to wait until it was pdi `d . Took 45 minutes to get bike they said was ready !! - they are badly organised - they don't know how to work their systems ( if they have one ?? ) Foleshill Road Coventry branch - avoid if you can . Complained to the manager Josh who was useless , customer service is unknown to him . Don't buy from here . Poor service and organisation seems to be the norm here .

I went in to the East Kilbride branch to purchase a 512gw Dash Cam and a hardware kit to get fitted when I approached the senior cashier she told me that I can't as the guy is off sick. I was left a little bemused and slowly walked out the store empty handed- now I would of apologised to the customer and offered the first available slot for fitting and I am not in retail. Poor customer service and lack of sufficient staff training.

I recently purchased a Nextbase 512GW dashcam from Halfords and booked my car in for the camera to be hard wired into my cars fuse box. Looking on Halfords web site it said professionally installed and the cable would be supplied for 30 pounds. I was told it would take an hour so I returned after the hour and paid the 30 pounds. On returning to my car I noticed the camera was hanging down and the passenger side windscreen trim was loose, I also noticed the cable supplied with the camera was missing. I returned to the shop to enquire about the where abouts of the cable and was told it is used as part of the installation, I questioned this and was given a new plug in cable. I took the fuse box cover off to look at the cable installation only to find a plug in adaptor had been used and my original cable was plugged in and taped in place with insulation tape which I deem unacceptable. I phoned Halfords only to be told this was their standard procedure and I would have needed to purchase a Next base hard wiring kit for 20 pounds to do the job without using my original cable. I told them I was not happy but again was told that it was their procedure. I've decided to buy a Nextbase hard wire kit from another supplier and install it myself and will be reluctant to use Halfords ever again.

After I got new tyres I went to halfords brighton for wheels alignment , suppose to be ready at 9 am and waited until 3pm and when they "finished" they give me only the bill , no details about what they found and correct ( like kwick fit) Now 6 months later I need to change my tyres again as only the edge from front tyres is finished. Very Disappointed

Bought a bike via cycle to work. Telephoned Halfords to arrange collection. They couldn’t find the bike in their Stirling store. Telephoned the 3rd party supplier (that was our job apparently)- it had been dispatched more than a week before. Telephoned Halfords Stirling – they searched the warehouse and found the bike. We went in to pick it up. They said we couldn’t pick it up as it had not been built. We pointed out that all it needed was to have the pedals fitted. They said they had to carry out a 20 point safety check and they were too busy to do it. We said ok we’ll pick it up tomorrow. They said next opportunity would 5 days away but they might be able to squeeze it in if we came back just before closing. I said well in that case if you can squeeze it in today we can pick it up tomorrow . They said if you aren’t going to pick it up today we aren’t going to build it today. This was said apparently without irony. I general have had good experiences at Halfords but I think this particular young woman needs retraining

Booked the MOT with Leeds garage, had a phone call the day I should arrive saying that most of the staff is on sick and won't be able to do it. Re-booked for another time. Arrived and was told that they won't be able because the garage was burgled. I'm self employed and lost 4 hours of work. Nobody rang me to let me know. It was 4pm when I left Halfords and had 1 hour to find another garage to do MOT otherwise would be left without a car and loose more work hours due to not being able to drive to work. Refund has been issued but the customer care didn't care that I've lost working hours due to lack of communication. Offered 25% off next MOT (£7.25) where I've lost £100!!! Also what I found out that when you book an MOT online you have to pay in advance but it doesn't mean you are their customer. In their T&C there is a clause that you are their customer after they do a service, but until then they don't care. But you've paid for the services!! Also, when you want to cancel the appointment you are charged £10 admin fee, but if they cancel it, well they don't take responsibility. Poor service. Never again.

Awful awful awful. I had two awful encounters with Halfords garage in Soutfields. Once, they kept my car for 2 days, charged me £50 and not only they couldn't diagnose the problem causing the noise, but actually made the noise worse. Another time, I had booked an MOT online two weeks in advance, only to go there and being told "everyone is on holiday we can't do the MOT" (and obviously nobody had bothered to at least have the decency to call me).

socket set ordered 9th June not in store for collection until 15th June Halfords cancelled order 8.22am on the 19th June. Not 14 days as stated by Michael customer service adviser. The reason it was cancelled given as out of stock. Items sold since 964.(out of stock at original price of £20.00 but they were happy to sell me one at a greatly increased price of £25.00 now the 24th July 46 days and 21 emails later, I have still not had a honest reply to any of my queries, I am at a loss as how Halfords can continue to operate such an abysmal service and no one is accountable.

I recently had major service carried out by Halfords to a car I had recently purchased. One of the selling points for me was that the car came with many Halford's receipts for work they had carried out since 2014. These receipts came to some £1,500 including servicing and larger work such as the head gasket. In fact they had looked after this car for several years. I was happy therefor to choose them to carry out this extensive and expensive service to give me even more piece of mind. However within days of the work being done I had disk break warning lights flashing, My indicators failed as did my break lights and then whilst driving the car violently expelled all coolant causing the car to rapidly overheat. The Breakdown Engineer advised I take it back to Halfords as the integrity of the head gasket could be effected. It was and Halfords refused to fix the head gasket saying that the warranty on the work is non transferable between owner. They also will not admit that the damage had been caused due to the cooling system not been bled sufficiently during the service as suspected by the breakdown engineer. They were defensive from day one and stalled me for over a week before in effect telling me "tough" Despicable uncaring and disloyal company.

Absolutely shocking company. Poor customer service, had the phone put down on me 3 times over 3 days. They had my car for 4 days, finally fixed it so they said, drive out of garage to same noise! They fixed wrong part, then charged me again to fix it. NEVER AGAIN, STAY WELL CLEAR

Ordered 2 keyrings oinline to pick upin store. Git an email saying they were ready to pick up. Drove 5 miles to the store only to be told the keyrings were not available and could not be ordered. What's the point of click and collect if they website tells you its ok and then the items are not available. It was on;ly 2 keyrings but if this can go wrong there is no way I'll order anything big from them. Will not be using Halfords again.
