The more often I go the worse it gets. Ok shop to buy bike parts and bikes from but not a good place to send your bike for repairs. Do not repair your bike there learn yourself how to. (summary: they messed my gears up, they punctured my tire) First time I went and bought a bike, they built it, it was perfectly fine worked well. Now because I bought a bike I got something where basically I go back in like 3 months later and adjust brakes and gears as you need to. They adjusted the breaks but they messed up my gears a bit, I thought the issue would disappear after a while but it didn't but I got used to it. Later after about a year or so after buying the bike I went in as my back axle was bent, the part was like 11£ and labour was more than the part. I paid and I was told to come in on monday but the bike wasn't ready on monday so I came in on tuesday and picked it up. When I got on the bike I realised my back tire had less pressure than the one in the front (it should have more). I didn't pay attention as I thought they didn't inflate it much and as I get going I realise that my gears are even more messed up than they were before, not worse but not what I was used to (not sure how they managed to do that). Now I suppose I could get along with that, later I get home after I finish doing some stuff around town I come home and pump my back tire up. After 2 whole days when I needed to use it again the back tire was back to a similar pressure when I picked it up from halfords so I pumped it back up and got going, again after I leave it the pressure goes down again, so obviously there is a puncture. Now I go to halfords to tell them about the circumstance only to be told that I need to pay for replacement as I was responsible for the puncture. Now my bike is quite cheap so I thought it's not worth repairing it only to possibly get it back worse so now I will soon buy a new bike (not from halfords) and I will repair it myself when needing to. I'd rather spend the money to buy some tools and learn myself how to repair my own bike using the widely available resources rather than come to them to find out that each time I pay for a part in bike to get repaired something else is broken or affected in a negative way.

Bike had dents on frame work on day we went to collect it. Ordered another bike to come in 4 days later. Got phone call to say it would be in next day as back log from bank holiday. Was told bike would be ready first thing. Came into Halfords Cambridge branch next day in afternoon. Told come back in an hour as computer problems!! Came back after 60 mins and guy disappeared for 10 minutes leaving shop floor unmanned. Came back to say bike still not done... that was 30 mins ago and still waiting. Terrible customer service and a wonder how the branch stays open as no staff . Won’t come back here again!

Payed for a bike weekly to be told the week before collection that the bike you picked and have payed for is no longer being made. To find out a month later it is back on their site being sold again I feel sorry for the staff as it is the high up management that cause issues but they never have to deal with customers

Went to Southport Store on Monday 22/5/2019 to have an indicator bulb replaced. Halfords say that they can fit the part for you. What they don't say is that it is fitted with total incompetence. The work that was completed by your staff member was negligible and left my car dangerous. I will not name him on a public platform but will share with the complaints team. I had to go to a proper garage to fix the issue as by fitting the wrong part you have damaged the unit beyond repair. I am currently pursuing Halfords for costs and I have been sent the forms today to make a claim. I urge anybody not to deal with this company as you are putting your faith in employees that simply cannot do the work they are stipulated they can do "while you wait" It has ended up costing me £198 to fix!!! If my claim is not reviewed and dealt with quickly I will start legal proceedings against you

Spend a fair bit of money at Halfords at Pool in Cornwall, and have a trade card. I cycled to work today and realised the10 speed rear cassette was loose, nipped in and asked if they could tighten it as a bit of customer good will ,about 30 secs in total, but they refused, said they could sell me the tool but I have one at home. Was going to spend £1400 on a bike for the wife, but will not be using Halfords again. ed

This happened many years ago, the laws regarding clamping in public places may have changed now, but it still makes me so angry thinking about it that I felt I had to write about my experience: The parking at anchor house retail park, mile end road is for customers of Halfords. I bought something at Halfords and then I came out of Halfords to find that my car had been clamped; the clamper said he saw me on a camera leaving the retail park, I hadn't so I knew he was lying, however it was my word against his. I could have shown him my receipt from Halfords however I suspected he would just continue his lie and say "you left before or after going into PC World". He said I could go to court if I wanted to contest the clamping release fee, however he would have to tow the car till the matter was settled in court (thinking about it now it may have been a bluff). To avoid hassle I just paid him the 100pounds, it was basically a mugging. Halfords should ensure the parking enforcement agents they hire are honest and act within the boundaries of the law, otherwise don’t hire them (even if clamping is no longer allowed the same thing can still happen with rogue staff issuing parking tickets dishonestly, for example)

Two days ago I put my bike into… Two days ago I put my bike into Kirkcaldy Halfords to get new back tyre and new inner tube both bought in store for £21 fitted onto bike for £5, left bike overnight and returned next day picked bike up to cycle home, after 3 mls I noticed back tyre tube was coming out side of tyre , I had to deflate and walk home , when inflating tyre I noticed wheel was loose due to wheel nots n fitting being totally loose, dangerous shoddy work for a service I paid for, as a keen cyclist I am a regular user of Halfords after this I am not too sure I would want to go back

Bought a scooter for my 3 year old for his birthday from the Kettering store. The product was discontinued and I got the one on display. It had a few scratched and came without a box or any paperwork. A member of staff asked on my behalf Will the store manager if I can get a discount, he refused. I was in need and it was the one my little one wanted, so I had to get it. I am really disappointed with people such as Will, cause clearly he has no idea about customer service, doesn't know how retail works and neither cares. Not really impressed with the Kettering branch. Will be visiting Market Harborough branch from now on.

Refused to send a receipt, bike arrived badly setup Bought a bike from them online and paid on finance. They refused to send me any proof of purchase "because I hadn't paid for it yet". The bike is mine, it is not a lease. The bike arrived poorly setup - gears would skip up and down and I couldn't get into top gear, also the front brakes were rubbing I spent hours on their live chat trying to get some sort of proof I actually spent £800 with them but their reaction was to say initially that I "must have missed the email" and then to say "you don't get a receipt because you bought it on finance". Terrible service - I would be unable to insure the bike without proof of purchase for example.

I had appointment at Halfords Car Service Lincoln Tritton Road for checking Air Condition, which usually takes 30min. When I arrived they said my appointment is made at 11am. Then they said that checking AC will take them "Couple of Hours" as they are busy with other cars. Ridiculous. They are ignoring Customers. I will never return there.

Very bad customer service, passed from person to person with nobody actually willing to help. I can see this being the next company to liquidate as they cannot compete with their operating model against the likes of amazon! Sorry guys but you need to sort it out!

I made an appointment for a 30 minute trial on the Pendleton E Bike. After spending 10 minutes at the counter organising this I was told to bring ID and a debit card the following week and the bike would be ready set up for me. When I arrived the store assistant said he had no details of my appointment and of course the bike was still upstairs tied up with the others. He proceeded to inform me that he had a lady coming in to test a Carrera who was definitely purchasing it. I felt at that instance I was dismissed of no interest to him. He did not speak to myself and my husband last week. We both want electric bikes and I really liked the Pendleton and was about to talk about purchasing it when the assistant who booked me in advised me to ride it first to see what I thought. The assistant who served me the week before apparently no longer works at Halfords and the one I dealt with today, I would not deal with again. As a customer he did nothing to encourage me to make another appointment or find out my requirements or indeed offer to set the bike up for me at that time. He was more interested in his 'definite purchase' customer. I will purchase a step through electric bike similar to the Pendleton, but I very much doubt it will be from Halfords

My wife wanted to buy a new hybrid bike, while I needed a repair to be carried out on my bike because the chain was slipping. I explained to the staff member that the slipping occurred only on the centre chain ring and this would need replacing. His attitude to me was most patronising and spoke as if to a fool, who knew nothing. I was told that it would be necessary to replace the whole drive system......chain rings, cogset and chain. (In fact I had just fitted a new chain.) My wife, who witnessed the whole episode, decided she did not want to buy a bike from a business that would treat a prospective customer with such contempt; she suggested we leave. I took my bicycle to a small independent bike shop. The worn chain ring was replaced at minimal cost and my wife placed an order for a new bike. Previously, I have had positive experiences at Halfords, but I fear I shall have no more; I shall not visit them again.

Went to Halfords in Chatham on new years eve. Never again I only wanted a bulb replaced After buying the bulbs I was told to go and PARK myself on seats near the doors and was told someone would be with me within 90 seconds no one came so the girl who served me got a tool kit, but after half an hour and two people trying I got sorry can't do it you will have to go to a garage .so I got the fitting money back . They left the area where the bulb goes in a mess and myself really uptight and very cross. The next day my son's came to fit it for me and within 10 minutes it was done , and they are not Mechanics.
