I made an appointment for a 30 minute trial on the Pendleton E Bike. After spending 10 minutes at the counter organising this I was told to bring ID and a debit card the following week and the bike would be ready set up for me. When I arrived the store assistant said he had no details of my appointment and of course the bike was still upstairs tied up with the others. He proceeded to inform me that he had a lady coming in to test a Carrera who was definitely purchasing it. I felt at that instance I was dismissed of no interest to him. He did not speak to myself and my husband last week. We both want electric bikes and I really liked the Pendleton and was about to talk about purchasing it when the assistant who booked me in advised me to ride it first to see what I thought. The assistant who served me the week before apparently no longer works at Halfords and the one I dealt with today, I would not deal with again. As a customer he did nothing to encourage me to make another appointment or find out my requirements or indeed offer to set the bike up for me at that time. He was more interested in his 'definite purchase' customer. I will purchase a step through electric bike similar to the Pendleton, but I very much doubt it will be from Halfords

My wife wanted to buy a new hybrid bike, while I needed a repair to be carried out on my bike because the chain was slipping. I explained to the staff member that the slipping occurred only on the centre chain ring and this would need replacing. His attitude to me was most patronising and spoke as if to a fool, who knew nothing. I was told that it would be necessary to replace the whole drive system......chain rings, cogset and chain. (In fact I had just fitted a new chain.) My wife, who witnessed the whole episode, decided she did not want to buy a bike from a business that would treat a prospective customer with such contempt; she suggested we leave. I took my bicycle to a small independent bike shop. The worn chain ring was replaced at minimal cost and my wife placed an order for a new bike. Previously, I have had positive experiences at Halfords, but I fear I shall have no more; I shall not visit them again.

Went to Halfords in Chatham on new years eve. Never again I only wanted a bulb replaced After buying the bulbs I was told to go and PARK myself on seats near the doors and was told someone would be with me within 90 seconds no one came so the girl who served me got a tool kit, but after half an hour and two people trying I got sorry can't do it you will have to go to a garage .so I got the fitting money back . They left the area where the bulb goes in a mess and myself really uptight and very cross. The next day my son's came to fit it for me and within 10 minutes it was done , and they are not Mechanics.

Had a quote to fit new rear brake calipers, discs and pads as the old ones were seized and rusted. They quoted me £650 for budget saving calipers I found exactly same ones online for £130 £240 for brake discs and pads, I found the lot online for for under £80. And quoted me £130 for 90 mins work which was fine but considering that I'd be paying an extra £700 extra for parts then needed the real price for labour was well over £850 for 90mins. I asked them if I get the parts can they fit them for the £130 labour charge. Of course they said they can't as they have to get the parts there self I fitted it all myself in the end took me 90mins it was my first time doing it and now it's past mot. I did take it to a mechanic to do a brake flush and get some left over air out lines but this only cost around £40 Do not use these people my advice is to order the parts online and take it to a private mechanic to fit them.

My mum in her 70's paid for window wipers to be fitted, within a month one of the wipers flew off as she was driving along, they expected her then to drive from her home in the rain, without a window wiper to prove she had no winder wiper. I ended up paying again at another place Wilco to get another wiper so i could drive over and put it on. Disgusting will never go there again.

Ordered a radio to be installed at Sutton in Ashfield branch which needed some extra wireing to be ordered. I telephoned the following week and made an appointment for installation having been told we have all the wiring. When I turned up for the installation I was told they had not got everything they needed and they would have to reorder. I walked out. A completely lazy member of staff could not be bothered to check properly. Halfords lost nearly £300 ?

Review of Halfords ordering. On the 30/10/18 A Carrera Vulcan E-bike was ordered online for delivery to myself in Romford this was ordered via finance…..and was despatched to Newbury where I do not live. The finance was then cancelled by Halfords (email evidence available) and then reordered by card….. This bike was despatched to Newbury again where I do not live for the second time of asking, despite promises that it would be sent to Romford…..Customer services were contacted on each occasion and more promises made which resulted in no difference…. After about the fourth time of attempted delivery to Newbury Halfords admitted that they had not cancelled the finance agreement and that the only way round it was to cancel the bike and for me to go and buy one in store….I did receive a discount for this but it had now taken 2 weeks for a next day delivery and still no sign of the bike floating out there in the mystical world….I collected the one I bought in store and took it home, not wanting to risk yet another bike coming to me via Scotland and anywhere else bar where I actually live….Romford. It was at this point I was offered a £50 gift card in recognition of all the hassle I had been through…… However this other bike was still out there and once again was attempted to be delivered to Newbury….by this time I’ve given up on anything and since I’d already gone, and bought one bought it home and built it up…I was almost beyond caring other than the fact that Halfords had been paid for the bike by finance and had still not cancelled it….so basically they were holding us responsible for what they had totally failed to deliver…. Customer first…I don’t think so…. The bike then went back to the parcel force hub and a couple of days later went to London North sorting office….which is the wrong sorting office for Romford….then back to the hub for another few days then to London East….this after Halfords said they were recalling the bike…they then attempted delivery to me in Romford…as I wasn’t expecting it anymore I wasn’t in….not that I wanted it anyway…I contacted Halfords who said that they would be in touch with their courier service for it to be returned….Of course I expected this to be done now fed up because the finance company wanted payment for a bike I’d never even seen….a few days went past and Halfords confirmed that they had received the bike back and that the finance was finally cancelled….which it finally actually was….. I breathed a sigh of relief…. I went out to do a bit of shopping and when I got back a box, well a destroyed box was waiting for me…it was the Halfords bike that they’d had back…you just couldn’t make it up I picked up the remains of the box and the bike fell out the bottom…well what there was of it…. No charger, no battery, No control panel and only one pedal….now if I’d waited patiently for it to turn up that would have been my reward….Way to go Halfords… As there wasn’t enough of a box to tape up and Id be damned if I was going to struggle with it back to Halfords I wheeled what was left of it back to my local store and told them to send it back to whoever…… I contacted Halfords customer services on my return home….with no sign of the £50 voucher and now them saying they had no evidence that I’d ever been offered one….I know I’m not going to see it, I cannot take their word for anything and I honestly suggest you don’t either………If you want anything from Halfords…I suggest you go to the shop, buy it and bring it away with you…it’s the only way to be sure of anything in my experience….

Last week I bought a set of number plates for my wife’s car and was told that there is a fitting service available , I went back to the Widnes store today and asked for them to be fitted. I was shocked to be told that I would need to remove the old plates, mark the new plates, then drill them myself !! So it seems that this fitting service advertised, is merely putting four screws in, to attach the new plates that I have prepared. Amazing !! So if I go to Halfords for an oil change, do I need to drain the oil myself, fit a new filter, add new oil, then Halfords can refit the oil cap ?

Very Disappointed. Halfords website sepecifically states “ they can fix almost all mechanical and ELECTRICAL repairs. My main headlight bulbs 3pin connector’s wires had corroded, so I was hoping they could fix it after purchasing an adapter from their store for just under £3. I had checked on YouTube the night before and it was approx 15min job if you had the right tools. However for Halfords @ the Blackburn store it was too big a job and told me we don’t do electrical repairs AT ALL. which I was very surprised. I said your website states you do hence why I booked it in. Guy quite sarcastically said “if we don’t we don’t try someone where else” that’s life, I guess you won’t be coming Halfords again” I had wasted my time booking it in. There website is very misleading. I most definitely won’t be visiting Halfords again.

Been stood in your crystal peaks branch for 45 mins waiting for someone to change my battery in my keyfob , lovely lady on counter put me in a que system.... que system what a joke , one guy serving on that department then after 45 mins another guy turned up ask the lady on till who was up to her eyes in customers told him I was next , then in front of all the other people he turned to her and said well I’m going to Serve the man under canopy, who had been waiting 10 mins . I then told him I was next and he jus shrugged his shoulders and walked out . He made me feel like I was in important and stupid in front of all the other customers. After this experience I will never darken your doors ever again . I will now get no diner as I was on my diner break . I will make sure I will tell everyone I speak to about this I am disgusted with his attitude.

TL;DR: Had a faulty reverse camera and mirror kit installed, Halfords passed the blame and refused a refund. AFTER INSTALLATION Not too long after having a reverse camera and mirror kit installed, I noticed the electrics in my car (Peugeot 308 - 2008) were not working properly. For example, the back window wiper was randomly moving and spraying water. MECHANIC IDENTIFYING THE ISSUE I took the car to a mechanic. They found the wiring from the camera install was causing all the recent issues, as well as more potentially dangerous issues like the car faulting or catching fire. DURING INSTALLATION At the time of the installation at Manchester Fort in Halfords, the installer mentioned it was his very first reverse camera install. He showed me a burnt black pin, pointing out it was like that before starting work. After chasing this up with my car dealer, they assured me this was not the case. Regardless, the wiring was installed without proper care which resulted in faults with the car's electrics. Overall, the installation was dangerous and could have caused a serious accident. CONTACTING HALFORDS SUPPORT After contacting Halfords customer service asking for a full refund of the installation (£75 for less than 2 hours work), I was told by a Customer Support Claims Consultant that I was not entitled to one due to the burnt block found by the first time reverse camera installer at Halfords: “Given that the wiring to that block was already damaged we feel that unless you are able to show that the issues were caused by Halfords, we will not be pursuing this matter any further.” Taking pictures of the faulty wiring and receipt were not enough, based on their response I had to prove of the damage done during the install (which is not possible as I was not around during the 2 hour installation time). SUMMARY I would not recommend installation services from Halfords. They are too expensive, not reliable, and it is an uphill battle if anything goes wrong. For those wanting to avoid the same issue, here are some extra details: The item in question was "EchoMaster Dynamic Mirror and Reversing Camera Kit". Installation took place on 25th September 2018 at Manchester Fort (36 Cheetham Hill Rd, Manchester, M8 8EP). Halfords customer service email: customer[.]services[@]halfords.co.uk Overall, I was not happy with their service and will most likely be reporting them to Trading Standards due to the item and install being unsafe and dangerous.

If you want new tyres go to Halfords, you will get great service from the front desk, and boy racer service from those that drive your cars. When they are cough wheel spinning your tyres after over ring your engine you get told its because its greasy outside. If this is a perfect excuse for boy racers to light up your tyres please go to Halfords where they do services and then smile, at your expense. This is how I described my visit to halfords today when i had 4 new tyres fitted to my car. You do not expect a staff member to over rev your engine, put it in first then light up you brand new tyres outside and in their car park. Remember these are brand new tyres which I have just paid for. Its very clear in the guidelines about tyres as to their usage when buying new tyres and how you should use them, and not abuse them like the clown did at my local Halfords. So, if you go down to the woods today, make sure halfords is not on your way, because the clowns will be out, having a shout, and driving you cars crazily. I will never get tyres from Halfords again.

Halfords Ashford shop is the worst! The shop is a shamble full of crooks! More managers than people who actually help customers! Managers need more training how to handle complaints! The service is unacceptable!
