Avoid these people at all costs. 10 day rental on Crete - first car so worn out gear selection was only possible with much effort. They had no car to swap it for 3 days then the replacement was even worse. Dangerous in fact. Complaints process poor. They have just offered €15 compensation! They sub-contract to cowboys who put lives in danger. Avoid

Absolutely avoid at all costs Absolutely avoid at all costs! Will ruin your holiday or hire experience. I booked a car through holiday autos. Only once booked do they mention that you have to have a valid credit card for collection. But they are happy to take the money from your debit card. Once booked and the money is taken there is no option for a refund or cancellation. The biggest scam artists out there. They have no customer contact number and the website is awful to navigate once a booking is made. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!!

I Wasn't Allowed To Rent The Car I recently booked a rental with Holiday Autos (Holiday) for a car in Romania. It turns out I now need an International Driver's License (IDL) to rent a car in Romania. I don't have an IDL. The IDL was not in the main list of items Holiday had included in the things I needed to show to the rental agency. Instead it was in fine print on the rental voucher not on the main booking page. See the attached image for the information they sent. It was a very lazy way to communicate the required documentation. I suppose this is technically legally permissible (maybe), but it was very unclear and poorly communicated. It caused me a lot of stress when I went to get my car with the agency and was rejected. I had to cancel two hotel nights and find a new accomodations in the city at 10pm. I had to totally change the trajectory of my trip. And when I chatted with their online support, all I got was a "sorry, you signed the agreement, we will not give you a refund and there are no exceptions. Anything else we can help you with?" They did not say they would note that the wording on the site was unclear. Nor did they say they'd even look into it. They simply said I couldn't have any refund whatsoever (on the rental I am not legally allowed to take out). Please note this company does not have good customer service. I understand I technically probably legally was in the wrong. But, do you really want a booking agency playing tricks on you or being unclear when you're traveling?

I booked my car for the 13-day period on the 04th September 2019. Holiday autos sent me the confirmation and all the other info need it to pick up the car. On October 5th the shuttle of the car supplier Del Paso took me from the airport (arrivals) to their office outside the airport. At Del Paso's office I gave all the information to pick up the car to the desk lady Lynda. Lynda in the meantime left the desk 2 or 3 times and then went back to the desk to tell me that she couldn't give me the car because my name was blocked in their computer. I asked Lynda what she meant. I asked for more information and she told me that she had no information and that unfortunately she could not give me the car if my name was blocked on the computer. At the 4pm while I was in the offices of Del Paso I immediately called Holiday autos I spoke to Francisco who told me that he could not solve the problem with the supplier because if they did not want to give me the car Francisco (Holiday autos) could not do anything about it. I asked if he could book me another car with another supplier and he told me that the best price was 300 euros. Then he told me that if I didn't want to pay 300 euros for another car I would have to email holiday Auto explaining the problem. I was stuck in the offices of Del Paso without a car and without a cheap solution to go to my destination and start my holidays. Practically my holidays were destroyed because I was without a car. In the Costa del Sol it is essential to move from one destination to another without a car. Buses are not many and there are no other means of transport. For this reason always with Holiday autos I always booked a car every time I visited this part of Spain. Francisco Holiday autos just told me that there was no other solution sent me my booking again by email! Clearly with my booking I couldn't do anything about it so I contacted Holiday autos again at 16:45 pm of 05/10/2019 and I spoke to Emerson who instead sent me a link where I could start filling my complaint. I left Del Paso's offices around 5:30 pm and set off in a taxi to my destination and spent 65 euros of taxis. On the day 07 October 2019 I started to fill my online complaint through the link that holiday autos sent me but unfortunately I could not finish the procedure online because it gave me a system error message. I called Holiday autos again and spoke at 15:26 on 07/10/2019 with Sohen. Sohen has taken my complaint through the phone. Now I am without a car Holiday autos still has not refunded me the amount i paid but especially my whole holiday was ruined because I do not know how to move and how to get to the places I had planned to visit. I had to cancel appointments etc etc.

I booked a car through this company for hiring from a company to collect a car from Milan Airport. The car company wasn't at the airport as described but more than 5 miles away. I had to book an additional car with a company that was at the airport. When claiming my money back or registering a complaint for initial booking. They clearly have no interest or response to dealing with the complaint. As they have just sent me a email for 2 months to say they are looking in to it. There are no telephone numbers to call. They quickly took the company I originally booked with off their search engine. If you have a problem your on your own!

Steer clear of them, they are only out to get your money. I booked a car rental through Holiday Autos and needed to cancel it. I first when online and tried to cancel my reservation through their website, but every time I clicked on the cancel button in my reservation it didn't go through eventhough they say you can cancel. Then I tried calling their customer service to cancel it but I got a recording saying they were closed and to call back, yet their website says 24/7 customer service. False! When I finally got a hold of someone in their customer service it was a few days later (after the start of my original booking) and they said since it was past the booking, eventhough I didn't get the car, they would still keep my money. Be very careful if you use them because they have false advertising and aren't there to support you when you need it. They will also look for any reason to swindle you and keep your money.

I arrived at Glasgow airport on fri 27 Sept 2019. I decided to rent a car using holiday autos. They charged my debit card 146 pounds but only in the confirmation receipt did they say I needed a credit card to secure the car with Easirent but that I shouldn't worry they were here to help. This is a lie. It was impossible to reach anyone from holiday autos and the only contact numbers were easirent who said I had to deal with holiday autos. I am trying to resolve this with holiday autos who basically blame the customer. I have simply been ripped off and now they say I didn't present the correct papers at the rental desk... I never went to the rental desk as it is not in the airport. Do not use these brokers they are crooks - a total scam - and I wish I had checked them out before. I wish I could give them zero.

Worst car rental experience I have ever had. When I arrived I was told I had to pay £850 deposit which I wasn't told about. I was then told I had to pay for europcar insurance on top of the holiday autos insurance I had already paid for. The europcar staff were very rude and told me it was my own fault for not booking with them direct.

OMG I wish I'd read these reviews before choosing these crooks! Nearly everyone here has been charged additional insurance. In my case I was already fully covered through the broker Autoeurope with whom I'd booked the day before. Autoeurope advised me that the only thing I'd be charged for on my credit card would be £150 deposit (to be refunded upon return of the car). Like others, I was exasperated with the appalling customer service agent who kept me waiting over an hour because he couldn't remember his PC password. He handed me the keys and asked me to initial the 4-page contract and sign at the end but never mentioned he'd sneakily added additional insurance for £101. I just signed without reading it through and got the surprise at home when I saw my bank statement. As you can see, there are several pages of people who've had this done to them. Avoid, avoid, avoid Firefly!!

Renting a vehicle at the "airport"? Beware! We have been in the Toronto Airport a number of times, mostly connecting with other flights and never have encountered any problems. This time Toronto was our destination and because of the nature of our trip, renting a car was a necessity. We were here for a wedding and later on we were heading into Quebec for a bit of a sightseeing tour. We arranged for, and paid for in full, a car rental through a company called Holiday Autos Rentals in March about six months previous to the departure of our trip. Everything appeared to be arranged according to plan. Holiday Autos acts like a car rental broker, they search out "deals" through actual car rental companies and then arrange for the car rental through these companies on your behalf. (In our case, the rental company was called Mex Rent A Car). This, I think, is common enough and we have used similar online platforms without any problems in the past. We received our car rental voucher a few days before our departure outlining the particulars of how to pick up our car, etc. When we arrived at the airport, Wednesday at 9:00 pm., we found out that Mex Rent A Car was located off the airport premises and that you had to call them to pick you up. We were not aware of this previously, so first we had to take the Link Train to, what I believe was Viscount Station, contact the car rental company on a designated courtesy phone there and then arrange for them to pick you. So far so good. Upon calling them, we found out that they had closed at 9:00 pm. and as it turned out, we had no way of contacting them. The information that we had received from Holiday Autos stated that if we arrived past the closing time, there would be a representative waiting for us. The company had our flight number information and should have been aware of our after 9 p.m. arrival. As I said, we could not get a hold of anyone. We ended up taking an Uber to our hotel, with the intention of contacting Mex Rent A Car the next day to arrange for our car. We had prepaid for it, months in advance. So, next morning when we contacted them, we were told, "Sorry, we have no car for you". Apparently, we were at fault for not being on time to receive our car before 9. Well, okay and thank you very much, but no vehicle! Thankfully we were able to obtain a car rental from the good folks at Alamo. Albeit a bit more expensive, it was upgraded to a larger vehicle and under better rental conditions, which as it turned out, better suited our needs. The people at Alamo were courteous and we want to give a special thank you to the very pleasant and helpful lady that helped us! One last note regarding this incident, three weeks later we are still awaiting our refund from Holiday Autos. Apparently, they are still investigating the alleged "Failure to pick up our prepaid car rental and who is to blame"! What have we learned from this said/sad affair? Don't take what appears to be the "best deal", it probably isn’t, and deal directly with a recognized car rental company is most likely the best course to go on! Still waiting for our money back on a car that we never received!!!

worse company ever!!! Let me pay with my debit card and then it turns out they would only accept a credit card. Tried to cancel the reservation within the hour, as it says 'free cancellation on their website' only to be greeted with endless bugs on their website and a customer care team which was unreachable! Making a case is near enough impossible, I would avoid at allllll costs! If they only had an option to give 0 stars

SCAM! FRAUD! Do not touch "Holiday Autos" Please do your self a favor and avoid the trouble... The voucher is valid for few hours and in any small change you are fuxxxx.... On 25.8 I was scammed by "holiday autos" company. On 19.8.19 I ordered a car through the company "holiday autos" an GOLDCAR car rental supplier. Order number ES413348840. See attached voucher On 25.9 we had the pickup at 1200. Due to unpredictable flight delays and suitcases pickup problems in bcn Airport (we are a large grupe) we came to the GOLDCAR counter in BCN Airport at 1900. GOLDCAR announced to me the they see the reservation but it's locked and canceled because the "Holiday autos" company reported of "no show" and the reservation is canceled. See attached the printout of GOLDCAR system for no show. The first thing I did is to talk with "Holiday auto" to help and resolve the situation. They told me that it's my fault and nothing to do. Apparently holiday auto has 6 hours of pickup window or its canceled and no show. Nothing of that is mentioned in the voucher. It's incredible to me that the voucher is only valid for 6 hours and in case of late in few hours as common in flights you cancel the voucher and don't assist. This is called a scam! lack of assistance from your side and customer service. See attached printed screen from chat with holiday autos for trying to resolve the problem on live. As a result of the "holiday auto" I was needed to order the car again from the GOLDCAR counter at the price of 291 euro!!! See attached GOLDCAR Receipt. I had no other choice because I was with all my family, elder and young kids after hole day of flights. Because of "holiday cars" cancelation I was put in a no other way situation.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I used Holiday Autos to hire a car recently (my first ever car rental) and their inability to provide accurate information and miscommunication has resulted in me being overcharged by 4x the original amount I was supposed to pay with 'Ok Rent A Car'. Additionally, I was left stranded in Santander airport in the middle of the night, feeling very uneasy and upset. Having sent email after email, wasting hours of my time, I have just been informed that I will be receiving NO refund AT ALL and they haven't even bothered to try and understand my situation or where I was coming from. I am appalled by the customer service I have experienced and I will NEVER use holiday autos again.
