First off, can we say all our dealings with holidaycottages have been fast and efficient (not always our experience with holiday lettings in Cromer). The nicely situated basement property is light and airy, although the restricted window openings (understandable) may mean it gets hot in summer - although for our stay they did give adequate ventilation. The entire flat is furnished to a modern aesthetic - think IKEA - and most of the furniture is new/newish and pleasant, although some of the drawers in the bedrooms need looking at. The kitchen is extremely well equipped (again, not always the case. Yes, I know it's a holiday but some people still like to cook). Outside, the paved area is small and basic, but it does have a table where we managed to have breakfast and meet our neighbour from upstairs, who is very friendly. All in all, we would recommend the letting and use it again. A well-earned five stars - oh, and many thanks to the owners for the thoughtful welcome gift.

Quick, efficient service. I was kept up to date with the arrangements. I raised a personal query which was answered straight away. I have booked through Holiday Cottages before their service is exemplary. Well done.

Cottage just as good as last time we visited, clean comfortable, everything you could need & dog friendly. Very convenient for shopping & visitor attractions. Owners extremely helpful when we had a small problem. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends & family, in all a delightful cottage.

Our second stay in a "Holiday Cottage ". Booking simple, refund of the bond prompt. Slate Cottage was simply lovely. Snug during a wet week sadly. Thank You.

The cottage was lovely, clean, spacious with comfortable beds. The area is very green around but the property itself is surrounded by concrete. The other downside is, that it isn't fully enclosed , so if you have overly friendly or naughty dog , this may not be the best option. We were allowed to use the large field to exercise the dog or lay down on the blanket, but that feels isn't fully enclosed either giving you furry friend access to the front yard of the owner. Also, people camping down the field tend to drive up in groups to use the toilet right next to the cottage, so your relaxing evening in the hot tub turns in to a show. Thankfully, this only got worse just few days before we left. Also, having the owner living less than 100 m away does not give you much mental space (although he was very nice). Overall, lovely place but not for everyone. Good location for discovering Yorkshire, approx 30 min drive to Whitby's lovley beach. Nearest shop 8 min drive. We did not go to the pub, seemed like 40 min walk by the road and no path.

Cost, comfortable cottage in a lovely location. Great for exploring the Dorset coastline. Also a lovely pub by the beach, that did great food and was in walking distance of the cottage. Dogs also welcomed.

Booked a holiday cottage for four of us, all over 70. No issues with booking, information emailed in plenty of time about location of property. Property was as listed, very clean, owners next door were very friendly and helpful.

Easy booking system, good communication and reminders re approaching bookings. Thankfully we didn’t need to contact customer services as booking went as planned.

There were significant problems with the plumbing which the local holiday cottages team failed to address. The cottage looks stunning but is poorly set up for visitors and the shower areas are dangerous. So far the complaints procedure has not been satisfactory. The Two stars awarded are in recognition of comfortable beds and heating.

Woodpeckers cottage clean and tidy. Downsides were heavy duvet on bed. No parking at side of cottage prefer to have car close. Stopper on sink very stiff. Very pleasant surroundings and plenty of places to visit even if the weather is not good.

The Seashell was a stunning holiday home in a remote area which we very much enjoyed

Sulima could be brilliant with some attention - it looks ‘tired’ when arriving, dirty by ns scattered around, poorly presented steps up to the front door & a broken inner door lock. In our case we arrived and the key was missing from the outdoor key lock!! Inside it was well appointed but the final cleaning finish was poor in areas.

I was unimpressed with holidaycottages. 3 weeks before our holiday I was sent an email to tell me to download their app as all future information would be on there, The app told me that I would be provided with the location 2 weeks prior to my holiday. 10 days before the app still didn’t have the information. I contacted holiday cottages to be told it would be with me shortly but they wouldn’t give me the information over the phone even though we had gone through numerous security questions, 48 hours before my holiday I still didn’t know the exact location and how to get into the property. I again phoned and was told they were looking at what had gone wrong and would get back to me but still didn’t give me the information. I then used a desktop to log on and was able to glean the information. Holiday Cotrages still didn’t come back to me with the information. At 4 pm on the day of my holiday stood outside the property I had rented I checked the app again. Not surprisingly it still stated I would be supplied with the location and how to gain entry 2 weeks prior to my holiday. They are now asking me to provide feedback which as you can see I have done. They still haven’t come back to me but to be honest I am no longer surprised. The property I rented was actually excellent. As described without a hitch unfortunately I can’t say the say about holiday cottages.

Great cottage, beautiful, with super garden for my doggo’s. The cottage is clean and lush, everything you need, sadly not a washing machine though. I would recommend it, but you need to be fit to manage the steps to access the cottage.

Snowdrop Cottage is in a great location in Thornford where the people are super friendly. It is within a few minutes walk of the village shop and pub which served fantastic food. It is also within walking distance of a recreation ground where we could walk our two Labradors. Villagers meet in the village hall for tea on Wednesday morning and dog walkers are welcome. When I booked I thought that the thatched cottage was much bigger than it turned out to be as I did not notice that it was in fact three properties. You only get the middle bit which is a two up and two down with a small enclosed garden. The bed upstairs was really nice and comfortable and the shower is well designed. The cottage does not have a bath The stairs are very steep. Neither of our two dogs could get up them, including our very fit 5 year old. I found it a bit of a struggle but managed OK. The kitchen is well equipped. The location was perfect. An excellent base for exploring the area We found a nice sandy beach and several lovely gardens to visit. It was just like stepping back into a time warp to yesteryear with charming villages and shops selling great fresh produce. The pub and bakery at Evershot are both wonderful. We can also recommend the dog friendly tea rooms in Yetminster.
