“The lodge was lovely but could have been cleaned better, upstairs had a problem with flies which wasn't pleasant, loads of cobwebs everywhere. Overall had a nice stay and hot tub wonderful”

“Overall an average property. A few things to be aware of if booking. The parking spaces are both small and may not be suitable for a large car, the dog rules include keeping your dog on the ground floor (2 floors away from the main living space). The living space has a vaulted ceiling and can get cold and take a long time to warm up. A lot of rules and do’s and don’ts imposed.”

“A very average experience. The booking was made and my money taken. The property was where it should be when we arrived and was available for the booked period . This was nothing exceptional and was broadly the same as every other holiday booking I have ever made. The property was OK apart from a rather dirty bathroom a problem I did raise with the owners.”

“The property was lovely, very spacious. However the directions to the property were very confusing considering it was only 1 mile from Seahouses. There was no information about heating, or how the appliances worked. Instruction booklets would have been invaluable. Within walking distance of the beach, around 15min. Well situated for visiting Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne.”

“Deer view is an idyllic retreat for those that like it quiet, it is equipped to very highest of standards and clean beyond belief. Isolated, yet only 2 minutes off the main A road, easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches ive ever seen, shops and restaurants are a short drive away if needed. We didn't meet Michael the owner as he was on his holidays abroad. We arrived during storm Amy so was expecting some kind of delay or problem but not to worry as everything was perfect. Was very sad when it was time to vacate and come home.”

“It was very easy to book online. We stayed at owls oak retreat for a week with our two GSD. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Their two dog came to meet us almost every morning / evening to say hi and wanted to play with our two dogs in the enclosed grounds which was great. We will be looking to stay their again as in good location where you can get to most places in about an hour.”

“Booking with yourselves very easy and efficient. Very disappointed with Swallow Cottage, Grasmere accommodation considering price we paid for rental. Oven was disgustingly with build up of grease and burnt on food. Shower was covered in limescale on doors and seals black mould. Bathroom radiator dirty and rusty. Months of build up of dust on TV & Radio units and under furniture. Broken blind cord on stair window. Mouldy washing machine seal. Grubby curtains and watermarked. No instruction information on how to operate equipment. Outside garden planters and gravel full of weeds and broken handle on garden gate. Pity as ideally situated cottage in lovely village.”

“It was beautiful and considering quite late in the season we had nice weather, we sat in the little garden with the sun shinning down having our lunch, just countryside around us, what is not to like? Might be a tray in the property but if not would be nice to add one - if just for this scenario. Loved the bats flying around and the owls hooting saw a family of foxes too in the meadow whilst walking my dog, made my day - if you like peace and time to unwind this is for you. If you want easy access to amenities and the bright lights don’t book here 👍😊🥰”

“Booking with yourselves very easy and efficient, however the lodge was a disappointment. From the moment we arrived there was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom , which became much worse as the week progressed. We contacted the maintenance person , who gave us some suggestions to try and improve the situation. These we tried but smell continued . On the last day of our holiday the maintenance man contacted us to see how the situation was and when I told him that the smell was even more unpleasant he said he would report it to the owner. We have had no contact from the owner , I suppose that is because he already has his money !! The offer of some sort of compensation for substandard accommodation should surely be appropriate . Smells of that nature are a risk to people’s health especially having to sleep at night in those conditions”
