“An excellent stay. Buckland Cottage is in a lovely location with walks straight from the door, lots of birds, including owls at night, starlit skies, peace and quiet. Great for recharging the batteries! The grandchildren loved the tree house.”

“Glaslyn, near Brecon, boasted superb views of the Welsh landscape - see my photo of the sunrise viewed from the panoramic Sun lounge. Excellent, modern facilities, lots of lounge and dining space, ample bedroom and bathroom space for multiple families”

“Marquis house was ver unsatisfactory as we booked because it had an indoor pool. Unfortunately this was very dirty. My family refused to use it. There were also other complaints. Despite photographic evidence to the contrary, HC accepted the owners’ assertion that this had been cleaned the day before our stay. This site would not allow me to upload photos.”

“No information in the property such as WiFi codes, rubbish collection, heater controls etc. WiFi did not work at all during stay. Fault was reported to maintenance people on the evening that we arrived. Called Holiday Cottages. After 45 minute wait, call was answered. We were told to call the cottage maintenance number. We had already spoken to them, and they could not help. Holiday Cottages helpline is useless. One of our friends had to use his phone for an online job interview. It was fraught, as the phone signal dropped twice. The interview was supposed to via WiFi on his computer. Boiler timer did not work. Heating on full blast at 2am. Had to turn it off, as house was far too hot to be able to sleep. Thought it may be us. Checked settings, but same thing happened at 3am that night. Another broken night's sleep. Reported. No action to repair. Inner front door stuck in frame at top. I had to free it every time we wanted to go out, as my wife could not reach it. We stayed in the cottage last year. Very good. Shame about our miserable experience this year.”

“Had a question about the property we wanted to stay in before we booked it. i Jack at Holiday cottages came back to me quickly which enable me to book the cottage. Would definitely book through them again. Cottage we booked was just wonderful!”

“From start to finish the experience of holidaying with holidaycottages.co.uk was a pleasure and stress free. We stayed in Beadnell, Northumbria at Almond Cottage. It was everything we were expecting and more. The location by the sea was beautiful and the people so friendly. The cottage itself was very clean and well equipped. A home from home but even better! The dogs settled quickly. The only thing we would change is the check in and check out timings. We felt the check in time of 5pm was rather late and the check out time of 9am too early. It felt it shortened our stay.”

“Harbour Retreat- Maryport, Great place, all you need in a lovely location, clean and smartly decorated, just 5 minutes walk from the little town centre, with lovely little shops and pubs with great food. Just a short distance to all that the Lake District has to offer.”

“We've booked numerous holidays through holidaycottages.co.uk and enjoyed them all. All of the properties were clean and well kept. Locations were as described and great for us. Our party contains three generations of our family: my disabled husband, my elderly mum, my nephews and our dog and we've always found the perfect holiday home!”

“Unfortunately both showers had no hot water & despite the best efforts of the owner the plumber did not appear until Wednesday - we had arrived the previous Friday - & he was only able to effect a partial repair.We decided to go home early. There was also no mention in the holiday details re the steep staircases & the very tight/difficult car parking space which would have been helpful. We appreciate that you have no influence over the very wet weather we experienced but some form of compensation would be welcome for the other issues I have mentioned. Thank you.”

“Our 2nd (but not last) stay at Bruggan Farm. Lovely cottage on this friendly family run farm was perfect for our half term break with Bonnie( Lab puppy) Great walks to Cadgwith,Lizard via the coastal path and the ,dog friendly Kynance Cove are very close and easy to reach. Can’t wait for our next stay”

“Great website with clear details and pictures of the properties. We book twice a year with our dog and look out for an enclosed garden and parking on site as well as beach/pub/food shop close by”

“We loved the cottage which was perfect for a week’s break. The owner went out of her way to bring over a birthday parcel which arrived at the cottage before we did. Unfortunately my partner was feeling under the weather which made the change in level between bedroom and bathroom more of a challenge. One thing we were unable to find was the usual basic guide to the cottage. It was cool and wet during our stay and we used the log burner which kept the cottage snug ( additional logs from the local shop). We couldn’t find out how to use the electric radiators. The cottage was well equipped. This was probably our last visit to Polruan but if we were to return we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again. We have stayed in 9 different cottage’s over the years.”
