“Nice small cottage in nice location 20 minutes walk to village”

“There was damp in our rental property, air fresheners everywhere to mask the smell, my wife got ill, complained, nothing. No care whatsoever, I have heard another bad story from our dog walker about these. Very disappointed.”

“This was the first time that my wife and I had stayed in this area although we are familiar with this area of North Yorkshire. The cottage is ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas and is only about 25 miles to the coast. Moors End cottage is well appointed and was spotlessly clean. The owners are a delightful couple and were very helpful. The real bonus as far as I was concerned was the location of the local pub, The Royal Oak, which is only a short 5 minutes walk away and serves high quality local ale and food. (No need to drink and drive)!!”

“My sister and I stayed at h Higher Berrybrook Barn in Sedgehill at the end of April… we were very impressed with the accommodation..it is a lovely property, and everything was very clean and extremely well equipped. The garden was very nice too, and so was the position… We would definitely like to return.”

“This holiday accommodation was the upstairs of a barn. The room was very well designed with a large double bed, comfortable settee, and well fitted out kitchen/ dining area. The owners were extremely helpful. The steps up to the barn might be difficult for the less mobile.”

“Very disappointing experience with Holidaycottages during an extremely difficult family situation. Our son was unexpectedly admitted to ICU before our holiday. We provided medical evidence from the hospital and asked for reconsideration of the booking. At no stage did we explicitly authorise cancellation of the booking. Holidaycottages later admitted the booking had been cancelled from their side in error. We were initially told reinstatement would be attempted, only to later be informed the dates were no longer available because the property had already been reopened on the system. Despite acknowledging the cancellation mistake internally, we are still being treated as though this was a standard customer cancellation. The handling of the situation, communication, and lack of accountability during a serious family medical emergency has been extremely upsetting.”

“Lovely accomodation, all the mod cons, plenty of space, the gift of local produce was a nice touch. Ideal to use as base to explore Cornwall. Only negative was the traffic noise from the main rd behind the lodge.”

“Blissful week in Whillanside. All necessary facilities & amenities. Well equipped kitchen & cozy living room with log burner handy for those chilly nights earlier in the week. South facing garden which came into its own as the weather progressively improved as the week progressed with garden furniture. Plenty of birds in the garden, Great & Blue Tits; log tailed Tits; yellow hammers coal tits Jackdaws & sparrow hawk & buzzards over head. Boot delightful village with two pubs. Plenty of walks from the door, maps & walking books aplenty. Walked to Blea tarn hill on our last full day. Dalegarth narrow gauge railway just down the road enjoy a 40 minute ride with sweeping panoramic views to enjoy on the way.”

“The cottage itself was very good. Location and views outstanding! The parking permit was a real bonus. However, the yard at the rear was unusable. It was dirty, furniture was all tied up and hadn't been cleaned. The dog water bowl was filthy and full of leaves. Not a pleasant situation.”

“The process is simple and all the communication comes in a timely fashion with clear instruction. We have had 9 properties and only once had to directly involve the team on something out of there control.”

“The booking was very easy to do. The cottage was just as described. All the instructions on how to get there and access were explained fully. On the whole I would use Holdiay Cottages again for booking my next cottage holiday.”
