“We had a beautiful stay at Rose Cottage in Pardshaw. We have stayed there before but the weather was not in our favour then, but this time the sun shone and we made use of the absolutely beautiful garden. Since our last stay the kitchen has been updated and also the family bathroom which are lovely. The owner was really friendly and helpful and a pleasure to chat to. The cottage is spacious, clean, comfortable and has everything you could need. We used the kitchen for lovely family breakfasts and the dining table for a couple of evening meals. The cottage is ideally situated for us as we love the North Lakes, really close to Cockermouth and Keswick. We ate out a lot too! Recommended places to eat in Keswick, The Pocket Cafe and Lake Road Brunch, The Kirkstyle Inn in Loweswater, The Coledale Inn Braithwaite. We did the afternoon tea on the bus from Bassenthwaite to Grasmere and back, it was great fun and the food was lovely. We gad breakfast on tge train at Bassenthwaite for our last day. Ours was a " multi generational" holiday with my father in law, my husband and I and my 17 year old daughter and her friend. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.”

“The cottage was excellent as was the location. I have only given 4 stars as there was a problem with the booking dates. I paid a £40 booking fee and when I needed to correct the dates about an hour later I was charged an additional. £75 to do so. I think that was excessive. I have used this company several times before without a problem.”

“This was the first time that we had booked a holiday through holidaycottages and it was a very easy process. Everything was made clear and help was available if needed. Our 2 week stay in Cornwall was excellent. The place where we stayed was as we expected and there were no problems at all. Based on our experience we would recommend holidaycottages.”

“I had a lovely weeks holiday at Sunnyside, Bothenhampton, Dorset last year, but we thought a week was not long enough considering our long drive, so wanted 10 or 11 days there this year. Unfortunately I found Holiday Cottages too inflexible and would only offer me 7 or 14 days, or 10/11 days at the 14 day price”

“We stayed at the beautiful Fearnoch Farmhouse for 1 week in May 2026 with two dogs. A gorgeous house tucked away in the peaceful countryside with stunning views of Loch Fyne. Safe enclosed back garden for our two dogs and plenty of space for all of the family. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay and games room was a great bonus to keep everyone entertained. Location is great for exploring the local area including stunning beaches and areas like Portvadie and Tarbert for day trip by boat. We had a fabulous family holiday, making great memories and would definitely return.”

“We have used Holiday Cottages a number of times, have always found their communications very clear and efficient and their properties to be well presented. We do have one major disappointment however with their strict refusal to reveal the exact location of the property until a couple of weeks before our holiday. To us, knowing the exact location of a holiday property is important information in order for us to decide if we wish to spend our time (and money) there, and to arrange for a grocery delivery to be made on the day of our arrival. Fortunately, by spending some time on the internet and Google images we were able to locate the property ourselves, but a paying customer should not have to do this!”
