Stayed for 1 night. Arrived after 7pm so had lock box. However parking was horrendous and the map given wasn't overly clear. Room was ok. For one night it was fine. However mould round shower, and no creatures comforts provided. Kitchen was clean and dishwasher and washing machine provided. Missing a pair of scissors which would of been handy and the knives were blunt and only 4 actual eating knifes, but holds of forks and spoons. Also garden area is definitely not enclosed, which it could be pretty easily. To be honest it kinda felt like a chalet on a holiday resort. It did the job but no frills. Had to leave before breakfast which didn't open till 8am, which on a Saturday morning seemed a bit late. Also no info on where to go and because there was an event on in the main building, it probably would of felt a bit off limits to non event members. Was expecting a bit more to be honest especially at the price per night.

Easy to use booking system though some elements were frustrating, kept having to change dates to finally find our preferred choice. Asked for some clarification on layout and equipment as we were taking a 97 year old wheelchair user but the office were not much good at giving the info and had to go back to the owners. When we got there the owner and his family were really nice and welcoming and any issues were quickly answered. A lovely holiday had by all.

Easy and fast to book. I stayed at Thornthwaite Elm, which is situated below The Gallery and coffee shop in Thornthwaite and is run by the same owners. This property is up for sale, along with The Gallery, and it seems as if the owners have decided to just let Elm Cottage continue as is. This showed by the lack of cleanliness and outdated furniture. The fridge was rusty, the hob needed a good clean, the knives in the block were dirty with residual food particles on them and even the kitchen bin needed a good clean. The toilet and shower rooms have been updated and, although small, they were clean and adequate. The living/bedroom is ideal for a person on their own or a couple and is dog friendly, the owners even providing a drinking bowl and mat for a dog’s use as well as individual pots of milk, a selection of biscuits and some teabags for travellers staying there. However the furniture is outdated. The bedroom section had a wardrobe and dressing table which were obviously old, heavy and dark; the pillows were extremely flat and didn’t have any protectors on them. The living area had two large 2-seater leather sofas, which I couldn’t understand the need for both as the cottage is designed for two people. If one was taken away it would make the living area a lot more spacious. The wall near the dining table was quite dirty and the tv was basic. It is obvious that the cottage could do with an update regarding furniture but as the three individual (although can be linked) cottages and cafe/gallery are up for sale I doubt the current owners will be prepared to do this. Overall it needed a deep clean, which I assumed would have been done before the start of the season. If a couple were to rent Elm Cottage it would be considered as a fair rental price but for one person, and considering the lack of cleanliness and outdated furniture, it seems a bit costly considering other available properties of similar size with a much better rating for cleanliness and modernisation. However, Elm Cottage is ideally placed, just a few minutes drive to Keswick, with stunning views and several walks nearby.

Our second visit to Beacon View with our dog and it was fabulous! The bungalow is located in a quiet cul de sac just a few minutes walk from Braunton shops and restaurants. On arrival we had a lovely warm Devon welcome of delicious scones, clotted cream and jam plus a bottle of milk in the fridge. We liked the private, enclosed patio with great hot tub! Grassy area to the side and easy parking on the drive. The property is pristine clean throughout, tastefully furnished, comfortable and good WiFi etc. Perfect for a relaxing break! Thoughtful touches like dog bowls and doggie biscuits were also appreciated. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous house with everything that was needed. Everything about the accommodation was superb. We all had an amazing time and the games room was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend staying at Soddy Gap.

They have a good choice of dog friendly places to stay The booking process is quite straightforward. Maybe more information is needed in terms of how near the property is too a connivence stores especially if arriving late at the property. In terms of Seathorn where we stayed it was spotless inside and very comfortable however the outside needs a bit of attention leaking gutters weeds growing in the patio attention to detail lacking.

Cheyney Park is a lovely, spacious house. However, when I contacted Holiday Cottages to ask if there was a bbq, I was told categorically that there wasn’t one. When I was given the owners number, I contacted her and she said there was a bbq, which was correct. As a company, Holiday Cottages need to get their facts right. It would be helpful to know the make of the coffee machine in order to get the right pods. Also, the fridge freezer was leaking and the seals were getting very hot. There were a lot of cobwebs which should have been dealt with by the cleaners.

Had a good short break, out & about most of the time. Enjoy breaks with Holliday cottages but it would be nice if dogs could be free or instead at a cheaper rate, I know there is one holiday firm where dogs can go free. I have no problem with holiday cottages.co.uk you have always been able to help when necessary and very polite when I have booked with you but please do consider the information above as dogs are part of a family.

We have already given you our feedback, nothing has been done . Have rang twice to no avail, very disappointed , both with the owner and yourselves. On arrival, after 5 hours travel, including stops , the cottage had not been cleaned and all the dirty laundry from the previous rental was on the floor in the shower . The details said the caretaker lived in Beadnell , maybe if she was aware of problem with cleaning she could have sorted . The property also smelled musty . Very disappointed Very disappointed .
