Everything about our stay at 'Two Anchors" in Badachro was perfect, except for the weather. That said, we were out and about every day (early November) and the rain took pity on us and stayed off. Can't really complain and we didn't go for a sun tan. The local beaches were stunning and our two hounds enjoyed then thoroughly as did we. As for the house itself, it was everything we had anticipated and more. The kitchen was fabulous with Alexa for timers, music and cooking tips. The coffee maker and smart toaster were an added bonus. The log burner did the trick on cold nights with a generous, plentiful supply of logs. The balcony was open to the elements but apparently also wind and rainproof. The garden, left to grow wild as had been explained to us, was ideal for the dogs to get a good sniff about in. Gairloch was only a short drive away and the Morrisons and ferm shop catered for everything we hadn't brought but we did stop in Inverness for a weeks worth of shopping on our journey up. Can't praise the owners enough with plenty but not too much communication. We would highly recommend this destination to anyone, with the possible exception of sunseekers but may be ok for them during the summer months.

We spent a relaxing week staying at this wonderful and very well-equipped farmhouse. We really appreciated little touches like the welcome cream tea and useful kitchen basics. The house is set in stunning countryside and well positioned for access to beaches, Tintagel Castle, Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project. Would highly recommend.

Apartment was comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen was small, and the shelving was too high for a short person to reach. The spiral staircase was not for the faint-hearted, especially when carrying a suitcase.

I only book my holiday cottages through Holiday Cottages.co.uk. Sometimes, the properties I choose are listed with their sister sites but all of my details are store with Holiday Cottages.co.uk. The stays, ideal for our needs, are easy to find on their site and easy to book and pay for. An excellent service from my keyboard.

This is an unedited copy of my feedback to the named contact at Gull's Cry cottage, Appledore, Devon. Hi Olivia, We locked up the cottage at 9:45. The main oven does not work even with your instructions in the book. The twin bedroom is unliveable with no functioning window, the blind won't roll, and there are tiny decorations on it that we can't be asked to take care of. The twin room also smells like a wine cellar. Cleaning before our changeover was inadequate, proof is that I found an open can of beer in the only one cupboard for or clothes, with spare bedding inside of leaving no room for clothing - if we wanted to use it as it had large liquids stains on that one shelf, that is probably the cause of the smell of wine cellar in this room. The TV in this same twin room did not work and you did not get back to me about a control or offer of repair. We paid for the use of the oven, the twin room, and the cupboard. There was no spare key to the cottage, not even with the "emergency' contact. Accidents do happen but you were unprepared for loss of the key, as result we lost a full afternoon. I paid £35 for cleaning but was instructed to strip all beds ourselves. The house should have been heated for our arrival, but that is a matter of courtesy, unlike the previous points that make the listing of this propery 'not as described', points I will mention in my online fredback. Very happy week in Pirates Cottage. Great house with all normal amenities. Perfect location and parking space was ideal. A suggestion for owners: shelf/tray needed in the shower/bath! Thank you ☺️

Very poor communication. Of the 4 'people' (at least one could have been a bot it was so useless) only 1 was remotely helpful. The others were just 'jobsworths'. I actually wrote a letter to the CEO explaining my frustration in the politest possible way and in the hope that she might actually hear what I had to say, but i didn't even get an acknowledgement. The company seems very proud of its "B" status (for looking after its employees nicely) but it seems to have forgotten how to treat its customers. Clearly my £4000+ for a weekend stay wasn't worth the trouble for them. I won't use them again.

Lovely house well located for the things we wanted to do. Plenty of space for the 8 of us. Would highly recommend it.

Lovely house with 4 generous sized bedrooms and great facilities. The kitchen was permanently toasty with the aga and the separate pantry area was great as there was 7 of us so we weren’t under each others feet. It was immaculately clean and in a great location, would definitely recommend.

Beautiful house in a lovely setting, very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. We were not familiar with Aga cooking and the time needed for using the oven did cause us some difficulty when catering for 10 people and a set of oven proof dishes with lids would be very useful. The house well suited all our other needs and we would recommend Brookside to anyone wanting a base in this part of Yorkshire.

A lovely spacious farmhouse for a family break. Well equipped and plenty to do when the weather is bad. Hot tub and the pool table certainly amused our Grandchildren.

There were issues with the heating and water pressure. There was also a bit of a damp musty smell down in the lower floor bedrooms. An indoor clothes airer or two would have been a great help. Apart from that the house was amazing. Stunning views and spacious accommodation. Huge lounge. Ten of us, three generations, never felt on top of each other Fabulous kitchen which was amply equipped with a great fridge freezer and Aga. And did I mention the views! Especially from the top floor Parked 3 large cars easily. Windermere minutes away.
