I've dealt with them before and never had any problems and they were really good, understanding and accommodating after I had a booking in November which I thought I would end up cancelling. They managed to postpone the dates, which no problems, and as a family we had a lovely time

Barclayfield cottage in Perthshire. The cottage itself is lovely but the road up to it is horrendous. It is a mile of narrow twists and turns and the surface is pretty much just broken up rocks. It does say in the description that it is a rough track but that doesn’t come even close to describing just how bad it is. Of course, I was not allowed to say this in my review and it wasn’t published. Be warned, unless you’re an experienced rally driver your heart will be in your mouth driving on that road.

We rented a property (Oaken Spa) from Holiday Cottages for my father's 70th birthday so a very special occasion and not a cheap property but we had hoped it would be worth it. Unfortunately there were various issues with the property having not been the same as the photographs on the advertisement, the heated pool didn't work properly or the oven. The majorly impacted our stay but upon raising this with Holiday Cottages and the owners of the property, neither took any responsibility or offered any kind of reasonable solution. Holiday Cottages said that the liability fell to the property owner and the owner said it needed to be Holiday Cottages to deal with this so we were left after various emails etc. with no solution whatsoever. Very unsatisfactory as the weekend cost a lot of money and I would never book via Holiday Cottages again, nor would I advise anyone else to and certainly avoid Oaken Spa as it is far from what it claims to be. Very disappointing service.

Don't bother if you actually want to book anywhere. Two attempts to book, 2 days to respond on the first attempt to be told dates weren't available (despite them showing as available online). Second attempt took 4 days to reply and same outcome.

similarly to another post I booked a cottage after finding it via a "dog friendly cottages" google search. Once booked the acknowledgement email showed "pets=0". So I contacted them straight away asking to cancel owing to the genuine mistake or transfer my £203 deposit to another cottage close to the original which does accept dogs. They completely ignored the transfer request and offered to cancel but I'd lose my deposit. Eventually they agreed to cancel except for £75. I think it was poor customer relations given the booking was still over 200 days away and they could re-book. So be careful with them, no dogs is represented by a symbol if you use a phone to book. I won't ever use them again!!!!!

Use with caution! Booked a holiday but within minutes realised I’d put the wrong dates. Called customer service to be told the dates I want are unavailable and I have to pay them £75 admin charge to cancel - it was literally a few minutes between booking and calling. A typo will cost you £75! However they initially wanted to charge me for the whole holiday.. book with accuracy and caution

The holiday cottage was ok, but we were charged for some additional damage insurance which was really not necessary in our opinion as we always leave the cottages in a much better state than we find them, so really unimpressed having to pay this as an extra, just not ok in our opinion this just ruined our holiday.

Appledore is always a premium, but on this occasion it was not met with quality. I knew the cottage would be small, but it’s very tiny. I was alone and it was ok for one person, it is really not great for a max of 4. You can only sit two on the sofa and there is one small chair, the sofa also needs a very good clean. The TV is tiny and the dining table is uncomfortable for two and impossible for 4 as one half of the extended wing is broken, even on extension it would fill the small living room/diner. Kitchen equipment is sparse and there is really no space to store much food.. The cupboard door with a magnet closing for the washer sticks to the washing machine on opening leaving an exposed screw - not ideal with small children. Upstairs main bedroom is fine, I did find the bed quite hard - but that’s a personal preference. The second room with bunk beds has a cable tie for a door handle, the plug socket is cracked showing exposed wires - again really not good if children’s are sleeping in that room. The decking which is accessed from the second bedroom is sweet but desperately needs a clean as it’s very slippery. The shower room also has pink mould and needs a good scrub. It’s a great location, but I feel ripped off for the lack of quality and cleanliness. I hope the feedback reaches the right people to either lower the price or make the much needed improvements.

I felt very let down with the after service i have received. The property i booked was not to the standard that was described in the description. We had several items that were down to poor maintenance. Also my granddaughter cut her foot in the hot tub that had a damage on the filter cover which was sharp plastic. I have contacted Holiday Cottages who contacted the owners which took another couple of weeks for a reply. But the owners just said they would take my suggestions onboard. Which is a joke as i don't think your company inspects the properties you rent out regularly as i should of never rented this property.

Easy to book, quality accommodation. I had to change the booking several times due to sudden family health issues, although there was an admin charge which is quite high from holiday cottages, the process was simple to make a change and the owner was really helpful in accommodating the changes.

Holiday cottages were actively able to extend as well as change the scope of our cottage booking without requiring chasing or hassle. For once in this challenging world is was great to speak to a person who took on ownership and commitment to delver what what required. Well done.

Holiday cottages were easy to contact and after booking the cottage online for 1 person and 1 dog instead of 4 people were very quick to make the changes on my behalf. Dugdales Cottage is a wonderful place to stay for a winter getaway very nicely designed and decorated and only 2 minutes stroll from The Golden Lion. Lovely stay.

Everything went smoothly good communication. Had no issues so can’t comment on how things would be dealt with if we had a problem to be solved. More than happy with our accommodation.

It was winter , we are seniors, and we were a bit bothered about the late admission time. I spoke to one of your customer service chaps who arranged with the owner to bring the arrival time to 12.00. We were very grateful. Our only concerns for future bookings are having to pay the full amount with no insurance in case of illnesses etc.
