They did not make me as there were too many empty shelves in the store

When this store was taken over by Bunnings initially the prices were competitive but now only the loss leaders are anywhere near the other diy chains. They have gone back to the original high prices that were charged when owned by Sainsbury's.

This is not the first time I have checked online that something is in stock in South Ruislip, in this instance there were 8 of stock number 382832 ( I could not reserve it said go to store) and when I make a special journey to go there I find they find cant any. Although Customer Service were apologetic and tried Harrow Weald store ( their stock control also showed they had some) they also could not find them! What a waste of everyones time. Your stock management needs an overhaul so it is working correctly as its most annoying.

Store in Leamington has definitely gone downhill. Seems to be one ginormous jumble sale, boxes everywhere, displays with cheap stuff blocking the aisle, making it a very difficult experience if you have a pushchair. Went in last week and was hugely disappointed by the Christmas display. Rather than it being displayed beautifully in a Winter Wonderland type experience, there were stacks of cardboard boxes with christmas trees and piles of cheap baubles in plastic bags. Stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap came to mind. Nothing now in terms of nice home accessories etc. Plants can be very hit and miss also, some nice if they are fairly fresh, others dry and dying. And to top it off I came looking for something, which i didn't know the name of at the time, (silica gel sachets), so I was trying to explain to the staff member by saying they are normally in shoeboxes to keep moisture out. She then suggested we'd go round the store trying to find items that might have them in and then "nick them".... she wouldn't even back off when I was politely trying to explain I just wanted to buy them. It was so awkward and embarrassing.... Now I only go if I really need something desperately, but absolutely not for the experience and getting some inspiration for our home. Such a shame!

I am saddened about Homebase contents/items in the store since the company takeover. They no longer supply cushions, bed clothes, cutlery etc. The store is boring. Before the takeover you could buy great items (cushions/mirror) decorate as well as buying paint.

I picked up some matchpots for some emulsion paints, once I'd chosen the paint I wanted to purchase I returned to the same branch only to be told that they had none in stock, they weren't expecting a replenishment delivery and I couldn't order it in branch. The website stated up to 5 working days for delivery and I ended up travelling to the other side of the city to purchase the last of their stock.

By and large a fairly good company. Only two stars because it is too far by bus.

Not really that bad, it's just that Homebase are getting worse. No staff on tills, customers waiting at "Service" desk to pay for purchases. Product ranges reduced and popular brands discontinued. It looks like a store in decline.

On a visit to the local homebase store..I was looking at a paticular product. Trying to find a member of staff for help was impossible. After a few minutes finally managed to find a staff member who was sorting an area for new products. On approaching him I asked for help. He said 'what is you want know' without a smile just a sigh as he had been interupted. I did say I had been trying to find a member of staff..(no reponse) We made our way practically running to the product I was interested in..I explained how much meterage I need to cover...he replied you need 4 or 5 boxes if one box is not needed bring it back. I replied ok thanks I need a trolley..he replied as he walked away 'the trollies are outside at the front' I did need help to load a trolley so had to leave the store without the goods. I walked passed the staff member saying I would have to bring my son to help me..& asked if the product would still be available. He replied without looking up..'its not going anywhere it will be here' His attitude can only be described as aggrogant & unfriendly.. I don't think I will be visiting again I will try another well known diy store in the area. If the staff member was too busy to help he should have found another member of staff to assist me.

Homebase in North Finchley seems to be in its death throes. Staff (if you can find them) try there best to help and keep cheerful but they seem very stressed. Stock in general is always very low. I understand the store is on its way out. Being taken over by someone called Bunnings? But not for another year. They surely can't go on like this for another whole year!

£99.97 - Purchased the homebase 3m x 3m blue waterproof gazebo, what a waste of money!! The side has 3 small pieces of Velcro to attached the sides and these are not sticky at all and the slightest breeze, these come loose, for this kind of money it should have zips or ties. I don't recommend this gazebo at all.

I purchased a kitchen with Homebase, beautiful kitchen / tiles / flooring. 1st the kitchen was delayed by a week by the homebase installer. So, started after Easter weekend, fare enough at least I still have a functional kitchen for Easter. They ripped out kitchen within a day! Excellent I thought, then works went slower and slower, I had to put my foot down and tell them to install my cooker on week 4!. I had no facillities for 3 weeks and had to plead with them to temporary install my sink and w/machine. It is now into week 5, I have no extractor fan, one of the units was measured wrongly and doesn't fit, installer ordered correct size, delivery date of 19th May, nobody knows anything about the order and nobody cares as Homebase no longer do installations. I have no kickboards on the cupboards, no edging on the units and no edging on the flooring, which is a small thing, but when the installer has promised to return and finish off, I can't put my furniture back in the room because it will be too heavy for him to move to finish the edging. I have just heard from him and he has said he will TRY and finish up next week! Over 6 weeks to do a small kitchen is not on, when I have paid over £10k to have a 3/4 finished kitchen. I am disgusted!!

Ordered fitted wardrobes. Material came, the fitters came. Very friendly and the main job was done in half the time allotted and they left. After this I discovered that they had not put in all the (plastic flat round) screw caps, except in few holes. So I asked the store and instead of one packet of 40, just one came! I took it back to the Homebase Store and they apologised. And ordered again, but nothing arrived. I have asked the customer service and store but they seem to pass the buck! My advice is DONT BUY FFROM HOMEBASE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO FIT IT YOURSELF! and that's another thing, once ordered, they wont take anything back! Their delivery and everything is in a mess!

Homebase are very expensive for fitting bathrooms and create all sorts of difficulties and delays in delivering the components.

I bought a Mercia Light Brown Overlap Apex Wooden Shed (Double Doors) - 12x8ft from Homebase recently, as needed storage due to a house move. just over a month after purchasing the item it has started to bow and crack, even though we’ve treated the outside. Instructions were confusing and didn't come with a bolt and lock. We had to buy an extra plastic floor base to go under the floor provided as it was flimsy and has broken in places already and we have had to buy more floor boards to put on top to strengthen it. We have had to put filler on the window edges to hold the windows in place and will have to buy better quality panels as the ones provided were flimsy and will not last long. The door has a random hole in it which will need filling. We will have to buy extra side panels to strengthen it inside further for winter because at least two of the walls have bowed and have holes/cracks in them. The wood is thin and of bad quality. One of the walls arrived like this and we tried to knock it back into place. Really disappointed and have to spend more now to strenghten it. Don't buy this shed.

Ordered and paid for 2 light-fittings from Homebase Oldbury on 8th July told they would arrive on 15th. Heard nothing, so week later went in to customer service and they were quite unhelpful, said they had not received them but a store 28 miles away had 5. We drove there only to be told they couldn't find them! Went back into Oldbury this week and told still not arrived! However, on this occasion a very helpful member of staff, Amber, took it on herself to ring around stores to see if she could find 2. She actually collected 1 from another branch and gave us the display model from Oldbury. She needs to be commended for her customer service, as we would not have gone to Homebase again based on our other experiences.

In the past I've ordered online to collect at the store only to find the actual item wasn't in stock when I got there or, it had been just sold or, was missing in the stock room. A shambles really and a wasted 20 mile round trip. I've travelled to the store several times to purchase items like furniture paint and again stuff I know you stocked a few weeks previously was no longer being stocked. Another 20 mile wasted journey. I've been watching out for a while now for a table top fridge and none of your shops have had stock for weeks and weeks. Seriously, what is the point of your website if the items people are looking for can't be bought because you have no stock? Your company gives an impression of being a disorganised mess and this has been the situation for the last couple of years at least.

Did not accept voucher due to the new takeover. Bit crap considering its less than a year old so will not be shopping in home base or 'bunnings' again.
