I visited the local store yesterday afternoon to look for an laser measure. One of the two staff members that were visible on the floor advised me that they don't sell the items and on request pointed to where the normal tape measures are. I looked at the selection and noted quite quickly that there were at least 3 types of laser measure on display. I decided that the £80 price tag was too expensive so I stuck with the tape measure. After doing one room with delays we decided to give in and buy the laser device. Another drive to the shop later we were surprised that we could not take the products off the shelf to look at them as the arm it was displayed on was locked for security purposes. The member of staff was initially quite curt about which product we wanted as she needed to get the correct key. There was no use explaining that I could not tell because I could not read the packaging on any of the products because they were locked in place so we went for the middle priced. 20 mins later she returns to say that she could not find the key as the manager took it home accidentally. I suggested she cut the products packaging as I was going to use it anyway. It was less than an hour to closing time and I was told removing the product on display would mess up the display and potentially disrupt a sale later that day. Illogical I know as they couldn't make another sale anyway without the key. Told instead to come back tomorrow. Drove 10mins down the road to B&Q spoke with a knowledgeable staff member who directed me straight to the product and purchased it with no issues at all. Very unimpressed with Homebase.

Ordered a garden item which says 3 days standard delivery. It is now day 4 since order was placed and still item did not arrive. I called the customer servive and I was told the item arrived at a wrong warehouse hence the delay. No information or update with the progress of item for delivery received or sent to customers. You will only learn all these if you call and track it yourself. Poor customer service.

Wanted to buy gas for my BBQ , was told they couldn't give me the deposit on my gas bottle as they didn't do that type . Then they sold me a bottle of Butane Gas when I needed propane Two round journeys later im back at the store to then hear the guy who sold me it ask what's wrong to then be told the customer bought the wrong bottle !

Waited in all day for a garden Furniture delivery. When it had not arrived by 3.30pm I tried to give the store a call. Finally got through at 4.10pm was told a manager would call me back within ten minutes. After 25 minutes I had to call again. A duty manager told me the man with the van could not be contacted and promised someone would call back. Someone did call back to say order never went out, still in warehouse...... Can deliver Thursday!!! another morning off work! Told my Husband we can go all the way back into store and get the £10 delivery cost and 10% off the price of furniture. REALLY! I took a day holiday from work and that's the best the store can do? Customer service the worst I have had ever! My time is worth more than 10% Homebase!!!!

I was quoted £7200 for a 9 unit kitchen. It was shreiber. I could not understand how 12 unit kitchen with island in your showroom could cost £4888 with worktop!? Well done MichaelL Notttingham Arnold. Homebase is a waste of time.

Brought the hygena Richmond oak flooring what a night mare lots of it would not click together and other bits keep clicking out not easy to install really hard now going to have to pay someone to do it my husband is a builder and we have always had wood flooring this is the worst we have had cost over £200 pounds and we can't even lay beware as this is not easy like the old duff

Appalling delivery ! Two bike shed boxes delivered but one box was open, & parts on the floor. Box appeared wet, hence box end torn / damaged. Crew unhelpful. Training required.

Worse Christmas tree I've ever purchased within a week it's bald done sane as I always do and kept it water and away from radiator Spoke to customer service to be told it's my fault for not looking after it correctly well I will go bk to farm shop next year for one

Avoid homebase windows and doors they are utter rubbish also the sub-contractors they use from Southampton d and r build/clear fix not sure what they calling themselfs at the minute , (as they have been to put my install right several times and still not finished) are even worse. lack or no communication at all.very unpleasant on the phone when they do pick up. and none of the managers seem to know anything about products. im sure im not the only one but my advice is avoid...

I ordered a kitchen and was told delivery in 21 days, after 21 days I phoned them only to be told " Oh Mr Wright we have tried to call you 9 times and emailed 6 times" which is rubbish as my wife is home all day. I got all homebase sales stuff on email but not delivery info, then, they told me it would be another 2 weeks before they could deliver. I then ordered top cabinets, paid for them, then received a phone call 2 days later ,only to be told sorry items out of stock . And it will be 6 weeks before we have more , then part delivery arrived , on putting them together 1 door was damaged, so phoned again only to be told another 2 weeks to send replacement. It has now been two and a half months. I wish I had gone to wickes

Wen i asked ur member if staff could they check a price and she did but it did not match the same as wat the clearance sticker said. I saud well that label was in front and she saud oh ill tell them that too. Her attudide was apauling and she then turned un a quick manner saying."watever". That is something that a sales person should never say to a paying customer. But then i found out she is an operations manager.... im now waitin for the area manager to phone me..

Windows and doors are utter rubbish. and the contractors they use D&R instal or D&R build. don't make them any better. Rubbish service from the most ignorant office staff. they don't seem to care. My windows and doors were installed and the installers were second to none. But the after sales don't seem to matter. after installed. just a word of warning.

Recently visited homebase store in b.o.d Aberdeen. Found management ignored staff members on checkouts when they asked for assistance. While I waited at customer service desk for help I heard one of the team leaders swear because she could not find a piece of paper she was looking for. There is no team morale in this store and service is rubbish. This store needs new management because it's obvious that the staff don't trust or have any faith in them and shop and customers getting a raw deal.

Management very abrupt when asked a question. No staff available on shop floor again. Can't reach products on pegs because they are too high and way too much stock on the floor. Store very untidy and unorganised.

work started on installing 2 new bathroom suites 4th nov.2015, guaranteed in and out in 10 days, after Xmas I realised the fitters didn't have a clue, they had raised the bath 5 inches ABOVE the window sill for the pipe work, we pointed out that it looked hideous and totally impractical, they said the bath was standard size and our old one must have been a lot smaller, no it wasn't. We asked them to remove the bath panel, fitter not happy, he'd used silicone to fix it on, sure enough he'd raised the bath by 5 inches on wooden blocks, told him to remove them and the bath would be flush with window sill, not a happy man as he'd already dressed off around the bath with plastic splash back, sure enough the bath fit perfectly, we have no idea why he actually did this, we'd been in contact with the area manager, he was a snooty upstart, didn't have a clue about DIY never mind bathroom fitting, lots more mistakes, shoddy workmanship, they finished Feb. 4th !!! Luckily we didn't live there at the time, we were refurbishing the property to sell. Just wish I'd read reviews BEFORE getting Homebase in Berwick upon Tweed, what a bunch of cowboys, I couldn't resist the offer GET NOW PAY NEXT YEAR, NEVER EVER WILL I SPEND ONE PENNY IN THAT STORE AGAIN, CON MEN.
