I purchased a kitchen with Homebase, beautiful kitchen / tiles / flooring. 1st the kitchen was delayed by a week by the homebase installer. So, started after Easter weekend, fare enough at least I still have a functional kitchen for Easter. They ripped out kitchen within a day! Excellent I thought, then works went slower and slower, I had to put my foot down and tell them to install my cooker on week 4!. I had no facillities for 3 weeks and had to plead with them to temporary install my sink and w/machine. It is now into week 5, I have no extractor fan, one of the units was measured wrongly and doesn't fit, installer ordered correct size, delivery date of 19th May, nobody knows anything about the order and nobody cares as Homebase no longer do installations. I have no kickboards on the cupboards, no edging on the units and no edging on the flooring, which is a small thing, but when the installer has promised to return and finish off, I can't put my furniture back in the room because it will be too heavy for him to move to finish the edging. I have just heard from him and he has said he will TRY and finish up next week! Over 6 weeks to do a small kitchen is not on, when I have paid over £10k to have a 3/4 finished kitchen. I am disgusted!!

I have purchase a lot from Homebase in Bath, from small bits and bobs to larger power tools and sheets of word. Every single time I shop there I experience incredibly helpful staff, good value products and a generally pleasant and efficient shopping experience. I would highly recommend.

The "new improved" Homebase is going through a transformation since their takover. My local store appears somewhat chaotic as they make changes, but the helpful staff and good prices (better that they used to be) make it worth the effort. I have recently bought a hedge trimmer and door handles, and the other day some glue that was cheaper than Amazon!

I purchased a convector heater on line. By far the best value for money. Click and collect from a local store worked perfectly.

Homebase in Rayleigh. Richard was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble when helping us in the garden centre. We wanted 3 bags of red bark, he even loaded them in our trolley and said if we wanted help getting them in our car he would take it out for us. Lovely fella, so very helpful.

Home base at Newton Abbot, Devon, has the most helpful staff imaginable. I live nearer to a huge B&Q but would rather travel the 9 miles to Homebase. Today I had to buy garden trellis 1.8 metres X 0.9 metres. Alex helped me get the panels onto a trolley and Angie, bless her, from customer service desk, helped me get them into my car. This took ages as I suffer from fibromyalgia which made manoeuvring the seats around slow. Good range of products in store too.

I ordered and paid for some garden furniture and selected a delivery date, I received an order confirmation. I waited in and it never arrived. I went into the local store who rang the distribution center after waiting for 20 minutes to answer the phone they said they were out of stock. Well done for wasting my time if I did my job like this I would get sacked and so would everyone else I know, these stores treat their customers with contempt, it is not at all difficult to get this right given the technology we have today and this is not an isolated case. SHAME ON YOU HOMEBASE/SAINSBURYS

Been conned by the kitchen planner ..we chose a kitchen but then changed our minds on the work top .... today the kitchen arrived with the old worktops we first choose ..well we stated we wanted the mountain lodge worktops ....they have not changed this on the paper work ...but it clearly show the black wooden worktop in the kitchen plan ....i have called them in hedge end Southampton this morning the guy is not there and the other kitchen planner has left !! funny that ! I still have had no reply from anyone at Homebase hedge end ..not happy at all they best change my work top as I have a witness who was with me at the time I will be taking these fraudsters to court ! even thou on the paper it does not state mountain lodge work tops which they was meant to change and add to the paper work they not done this ....still on the kitchen plans shows my cream no handles cuboards and my grey granite sink and the black mountain lodge work top !!! crafty crafty crafty the best change my work tops which are stuck in my front room ..we have been delayed in work now ! half a star for Homebase avoid these scammers people .

I visited the local store yesterday afternoon to look for an laser measure. One of the two staff members that were visible on the floor advised me that they don't sell the items and on request pointed to where the normal tape measures are. I looked at the selection and noted quite quickly that there were at least 3 types of laser measure on display. I decided that the £80 price tag was too expensive so I stuck with the tape measure. After doing one room with delays we decided to give in and buy the laser device. Another drive to the shop later we were surprised that we could not take the products off the shelf to look at them as the arm it was displayed on was locked for security purposes. The member of staff was initially quite curt about which product we wanted as she needed to get the correct key. There was no use explaining that I could not tell because I could not read the packaging on any of the products because they were locked in place so we went for the middle priced. 20 mins later she returns to say that she could not find the key as the manager took it home accidentally. I suggested she cut the products packaging as I was going to use it anyway. It was less than an hour to closing time and I was told removing the product on display would mess up the display and potentially disrupt a sale later that day. Illogical I know as they couldn't make another sale anyway without the key. Told instead to come back tomorrow. Drove 10mins down the road to B&Q spoke with a knowledgeable staff member who directed me straight to the product and purchased it with no issues at all. Very unimpressed with Homebase.
