Until a few weeks ago, I used to purchase all of my items from Home Depot. However, they have recently implemented a new tax policy that has made the purchasing process more complicated. Their online system is not functioning properly, and they do not provide prompt responses. When I visited the pro-section of the store, I was directed to complete all of the necessary paperwork online. These additional steps are frustrating and time-consuming, as if I am working for them. I took my IL state tax exemption number to the store, but it didn't work. I've heard from workers that this problem is happening to many other contractors as well. In the end, I gave up and returned to MENARDS, where I don't have this problem. Unfortunately, these stores are far from my business, but I have to get used to buying everything at once again. Home Depot has become the store where I buy simple things that I forget or need during my work. It appears that many contractors, like myself, are now visiting MENARDS more frequently. It seems that I am not alone in experiencing this issue.

I pay for the washing machine to be installed and the old washing machine to be taken away. The delivery arrived two hours early, everything was ready at home, but I didn't have time to go to the bank to withdraw cash. The gentleman who installed it from the very beginning assumed that we should give him money for lunch for what he was doing, and after a very quick installation, he asked me directly for a tip, which put me in a very awkward situation because I didn't have any cash at home because they arrived too early. The gentleman left offended and didn't even take all the parts from the old washing machine. I don't know if Home Depot pays its employees so little that they brazenly ask for tips from customers. I paid for the service and tips are voluntary, I also work in the service industry but I would never ask for a tip directly. The customer pays for the service and the tip is his good will

I ordered a playground which had to be delivered by a freight company. It has been a nightmare to get it delivered. every time I called I got a different story. So they finally delivered it to the store, no we are waiting for them to deliver it to our house. I would recommend to order large items from another company. The freight company is terrible

Communication problem with installers. They were not planning to remove ceramic tile prior to installing pergo flooring, as per our contract which we paid extra for. Then proceeded to use sledge hammers in kitchen to remove tile causing tile pieces to projectile throughout entire first floor. They dumped large pieces of tile down the heating vents, rather than throw away. Caused damage from pounding to plaster ceiling in the basement, breaking an overhead light fixture. They did not clean up area they used to cut flooring leaving wood shavings.

The people are not knowledgable and their prices are too high. A bag of mulch $3.57 when I was paying $1.68 3 years ago. I'll buy buy as much as possible from amazon. Prices are more reasonable and don't have to drive.

I was thrilled to purchase an outdoor shed from Home Depot, eagerly anticipating its delivery. However, my excitement turned into frustration when the scheduled delivery for the week of December 18th didn't materialize as expected. They rescheduled it for the week of December 25th, coinciding with my out-of-state holiday plans. Despite my efforts to rearrange the delivery, the freighting company, Hub Group, proved to be inflexible and uncooperative. Even after reaching out to Home Depot for assistance, the issue remained unresolved after spending a total of an hour and a half on calls. On December 26th, while I was away, I received notification of an impending delivery on December 27th, which I once again tried to postpone to no avail. The freight company insisted on delivering regardless of my absence, even threatening to leave it on the street. In a desperate attempt to find a solution, I offered to pay extra for a delayed delivery, but Home Depot had no means to accommodate my request. Eventually, we had to cancel the order. It's bewildering that the shed had already been shipped across the country and was idling in their warehouse, turning into their problem to resolve. I'm deeply disappointed by the inefficiency and lack of customer-oriented service in how they conduct business. Despite Home Depot's attempts to assist, their choice of such an unreliable company has led to a loss of my trust and future business.

I'm so frustrated with online shopping...they sold me an item to be delivered by 12/22. Tracking still says it'll arrive 12/22 No updates on delivery. When I contact customer service through their tracking page I'm told it's scheduled to be delivered 12/26. Mind you..it arrived in Brewer last night!! 30 minutes away. I offered to go pick it up. I offered to go to the Ellsworth store to pick it up. Nope..they can't do that. I can go to the store and purchase the items AGAIN and then return the ones that eventually arrive at my house...if they ever do. Home Depot does not get any customer service points from me. I believe they do this on purpose to scam extra dollars in the last moments of their 4th qtr. Why do people continue to shop online? I'm done..I want the merchandise in my fking hands before I give them a penny. Rant over

Last night 12-21-23, my faucet broke off a $400.00 4 hole kitchen faucet and sprayer set which I purchased from Ferguson/ SignatureHardware. After 3 calls to Signature Hardware, then Ferguson and first being told the set and part were available and I could get the part I needed in Asheville Ferguson. When I finally got a very nice man at the Ferguson in Asheville, I was told a new set or the part wasn't available. So I went to Home Depot, I asked a wonderful employee, who was off the clock on this way home for help.. He stayed with me for several minutes as we tried to find the set I wanted for $165.00. When he had spent about 15 minutes with me he introduced me to a great gentleman Dave, who ordered the set on line. He was honest and said "I don't think it will arrive before Christmas , but we'll try." I learned a great lesson " if you want great customer service and good prices "Go to Home Depot".

I ordered and paid for an LG wash tower, and they came in and took my stuff. they discovered the new unit was damaged and left with all of the units leaving me with no way to do laundry they told me to call for a redelivery. A robot from LG called me hours later and told me it would be 8 days for a replacement. They did the same thing before with an expensive range. I had to buy a grill to cook on. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE? I KNOW THEY HAVE MORE AT THE STORE AND PEOPLE JUST SHUFFLING AROUND WHY NOT NOW? THEY AT LEAST COULD HAVE LEFT MY STUFF SO I WOULD BE ABLE TO DO LAUNDRY. A GOOD PLAN WOULD BE NOT TO REMOVE THE OLD UNTIL THE NEW WAS LOOKED AT. I WOULD ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK BUT I KNOW THAT WOULD TAKE AS LONG. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS ON A NEW KITCHEN THERE AND AM BEING TREATED LIKE A NUISANCE.

I bought online a fridge in April 2023 and I bought the extra insurance and the installation from them. End of October 2023, we noticed that the walls behind the fridge are wet. We called the plumber and he fond out that there is a leak due to a bad installation. They were obliged to open the walls which were full of black mold, the Sedgwick insurance, Home Depot's insurance sent several machines to dry out , then they demolished 2 walls and removed some of brand new cabinets to the trash because of mold!!! We are in the middle of December, after calling 100 times, sending douzaine of emails, nothing is done!!! Nobody can give us a proper answer. Our Thanksgiving was ruined, now Christmas coming and Holidays with family will be ruined, we are living in a construction sites for weeks and weeks. I do not recommend AT ALL Home Depot and their insurance company Sedgwick. They get your money and if something happen, you are in trouble and most of the time IGNORED!!!!!

North Ave Home Depot has a bad customer service, when you call. It is very simple just make a call and ask a simple question and see how unprofessional they are. It is sad that store with such a big inventory has a customer service that is so bad.

Don't buy anything from the home depot especially online, they will instantly debit your credit then when you receive the item and find out that it was someone else's return and sent it back. They will take up to 2-3 weeks before you see your refund!!! Not worth it 👎👎👎

Hauslane garbage purchased from home depot and delivered ups. A 53 lbs. appliance (range hood) was sent via ups and left outside from me to drag into the house. After much difficulty removing the appliance from the box, I discovered that one side of the appliance was caved in. Had to inspect for damage and report in 48 hours or no return. Contacted home depot on line ordering operator (the people that are responsible since I ordered from them) and was told that I should rebox the 53lb appliance and leave it outside all day every day until it is picked up by ups. Went to the local home depot and they refused to handle it. I called back to the on line home depot operator and was told that if I am unable to repackage the 53 lbs. appliance by myself, all that is needed is the original packaging and my driving the appliance to the local ups store. With much difficulty I did just that. Ups refused to except it unpackaged even when I explained that I am unable to repackage it. The ups representative was willing to help me but stated that I should start first. What if I am physically unable to fit the Styrofoam forms with one hand while balancing the appliance with the other and then lifting all of it into a narrow, tightly fitting box. We are not talking about a keyboard or a cell phone. The inconsiderate representatives of ups, home depot and hauslane not only delivered a damaged product, they left the heavy, bulky item outside and refuse to send a pick up crew to collect an appliance, as is the norm for other retailers. Ups, home depot and hauslane can’t be bothered to consider that they are not always shipping their appliances to gorillas. Avoid ups, home depot and hauslane if you can. I recently delt with Samsung and the delivery service was what you would and should expect for an delivery of an appliance or any large heavy bulky item. I am still unable to repackage the item and return it.

“Before a customer either accepts delivery or takes an order home from the store, major appliance products (including refrigeration appliances, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and some microwaves) should be inspected for defects or damage.” ⭐️How were we to know about shock damage on a washer we have never used before? We had never owned a computerized washing machine, how would we have known it was damaged? Given only 2 days👇🏽? To figure out if it works properly? 2 days? 48 HOURS * All Major Appliances (Refrigeration Appliances, Washers, Dryers, Ranges, Dishwashers and some Microwaves) ⭐️What kind of backwards-thinking policy is that? How do you fathom that 2 days enough time to figure out if a major appliance is working as it should? So ask yourself- is it right to ask your employees to blindly follow a policy that serves no one but Home Depot? You sit in your corporate office while all of your minions on the ground execute your dirty business. Brian, Gino, Dustin, Armando These are the employees at the Odessa TX (79761) location that treated me with total disregard. I honestly don’t know how Home Depot has remained in business for as little as it has- There has never ever been a time in the many years I have gone into a Home Depot store whether in Odessa, Dallas or Portland Oregon-that any employee has ever been helpful- WHAT do you pay them for? To babysit the store for contractors to come in and get what they need? Contractors do not need the help of a Home Depot worker and they are the only ones Home Depot serves. You should only advertise to contractors and stop trying to be a store to “everyone”- You don’t know how to serve most people that come into your store- You sold us a broken washing machine and because we didn’t realize it until well after the “48 hour” return period, there was nothing we could do and on top of that your employees were not equipped to deal with an upset customer- they had no clue how to deescalate the situation, in fact, leaving me on hold and never returning to the call- then they call me back and repeat a corporate script- may as well have been speaking to a wall. So when I ask over the phone for management names- they refuse to give it to me. I had to drive out to the store in the rain to go inside and get the names of management on duty. When I spoke with “Brian”- he was wearing a tag and I flipped it around to see if his name was on the other side and he threatened to file an “assault” charge for touching his tag but still his name WAS NOT VISIBLE- his name was not on the tag- he told me his name was “Brian”. This is how the Odessa employees treat customers- threats and total disregard. Seriously, what is your business secrets? How do you remain in business with such horrible service? I want to know the secret of your success. We have learned our lesson. Never EVER purchase another appliance from Home Depot. They will send you to the manufacturer and the manufacturer will send you right back to Home Depot and it will go in circles forever until you finally give up.

The Home Depot sales person made two mistakes out of four possible things to put on the contract. THD will only fix their mistakes if you pay them. The process from saleswoman to project manager to contractor is disjointed at best. They will ghost you if you try to call them after payment. Go to Lowes!! Better, more knowledgeable professionals. The work is done perfectly and accurately.
