I wrote a letter of complaint about the smug little witch called Danielle at Lakeside JDSports (if I wasn't a professional her colleagues would have had to pick her up from the floor after my visit) Dear Mr Cowgill, It is with regret that I write to you of all people but my experience in a JDSports store on Saturday has left me with no option. Having received the all - clear from breast cancer on Thursday of last week I decided to treat myself to some retail therapy and went to Lakeside shopping centre in Thurrock. I wanted to buy a pair of running shoes to kick start the ‘new healthy me’. I purchased one pair from a JDSports within the mall but then found a different pair that I preferred in a second JDSports in the mall. When trying on the second pair the sales adviser suggested I return the first pair in the store I was in to save me going to the other shop. Once at the counter I was served by the store manager, who I was advised is the only person in the store authorised to do exchanges of refunds. I explained that I would like to return the trainers and exchange them for the ones I had picked in this store. Without speaking to me the manager inspected the shoes, as I would have expected. This ‘inspection’ was extremely thorough and it was at this point, and in no way rude or said with a tone, I advised her that ‘I had only just bought them – three or four minutes ago.’ To my horror the manager looked up and barked, ‘ Did I say anything?’ I looked quite dismayed and with a very patronising look she repeated, ‘ Did I say a word?’ I was stunned by her curt and aggressive tone. I stood for a bit in silence , having said to her, ‘I was merely explaining that I had only just purchased them.’ Again, she looked up and said ,’ you are incredibly rude, it is my job to inspect the shoes.’ I did not want to engage in any unnecessary conversation with this woman; I was embarrassed enough at me being spoken to like a naughty child in front of a queue of other customers. It was at this point that I began to shake and tears welled up in my eyes. Not only was I being bullied by the manager I was being forced into a position where I was humiliated and embarrassed in front of a queue of customers as well as other members of staff. I asked her if we could ‘just get on with it’ as I was, at this point, desperate to leave the store. I stood in absolute silence, my face red and whole body shaking with rage as I watched her typing my details into the till. It was at this point that she looked up and said, ‘stop looking at me like that’. By now I’d had enough, it seems that this woman was extremely angry and upset with something prior to my visit and had decided to assert herself with me for no reason whatsoever. I then with slightly raised voice said,’ I am looking at you because it is courteous to do so, would you prefer me to turn away and speak with my back to you?’ I then turned fully round to face the opposite direction to make a point. She then said,’ right, you are incredibly rude and I’m not serving you. You will have to take these somewhere else ‘cause there’s nothing I’m going to do.’ I said, ‘excuse me? You’re not going to serve me?’ ‘That’s right she smiled, you’re too rude.’ At this point I demanded the number to customer services. She ignored me when I was asking claiming, ‘Can’t you see I’m serving someone, you’ll have to wait.’ Eventually she handed me the number and I tried to call from the shop. She gave me the wrong number and when I advised her of this she looked over and said,’ it’s the one we use.’ Frustration boiling now, I advised her that i had driven 35 miles to get to this store and now she was refusing to serve me? ‘Yes’ she laughed, ‘I’m the only one who can do exchanges so you’ll have to go elsewhere.’ I even tried to apologise to her for a misunderstanding but she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off from the counter smiling. As I left the store two customers that had heard this conversation stopped me as they left to say that I had in no way been rude to the lady and that ‘she’s obviously having a bad day’. Plausible had it not have been for the fact that it was just past 9am! I left the store, found an exit to the mall and sat in my car crying unable to continue my ‘day out’. Not only was I choked about this experience I was left humiliated and unnecessarily embarrassed by a girl half my age who thought her actions and rudeness were justified and somewhat amusing. My shopping experience was, to say the least, ruined and the whole weekend blighted by a half witted upstart who considered herself in a position to be rude, discourteous and patronising. Suffice to say that I will not return to the JDSports store in Lakeside shopping centre and should I wish to purchase anything I will do so online. I would appreciate a swift response to this letter of complaint and do hope that the matters I have raised will not be repeated by the manager ‘Danielle’ again. Perhaps a customer service course would benefit her; she may well be a superb manager but she is lacking in a very important area of management; customer service and satisfaction. I am in no way happy with the disrespectful behaviour displayed and would expect managers to have more decorum towards customers. I'm appalled how JD sports have handled my situation. Their lack of customer service skills are lacking in many ways. In future I will be shopping in footlocker instead

Placed an order from their website and made the payment for the item and Next Day Delivery as on their website it clearly stated that orders placed on friday before 9pm are eligible for next day delivery.. So I was expecting my item to arrive on saturday (the following day).. no Item, no phone calls no thing.. I called JD and they said the driver will deliver the items on sunday. sunday and came and went and I still haven't got my items. I called the JD again and asked for a full refund and to my horror the rude and lying idiot that answered the phone said they wont refund and they wont be dealing with this matter as it is between me and the delivery company now!!!! I told them but I haven't received any item!! and she (the idiot on the phone) said they simply do not care and thats that.. so I have lost £80.99 of my money and no items.. I have opened a dispute via PayPal and will claim a charge back from my bank to get my money back from these scam artist... this company (if you can call them that) should not be in business and they should be reported to the police and taken to the court for scamming people and stealling people's money..

Never order from JDSports they do not refund! Ordered at the beginning of March, never received the goods, refund still being investigated after 2 month. Worst customer service ever, JD Sports still own me £200. Will never buy again, this company is bad business!

I RETURNED 4 PAIRS OF CHILDRENS TRAINERS TO YOU BEFORE XMAS AS THEY WHERE THE WRONG SIZE .I RETURNED THEM VIA HERMES YOUR CHOSEN DELIVERY SERVICE I DROPPED THEM OF AT THE DESIGNATED DEPOT FOR HERMES IN OUR AREA AND GIVEN A RECEIPT .FROM THERE IS A MYSTERY I HAVE TRIED TO EXPLAIN THIS SITUATION TO IN TOTAL 10 PEOPLE ALL OF WHICH HAVE BEEN TOTALLY UNHELPFUL 4 OF WHICH HAVE ACTUALLY PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME I AM NOW £171.00 OUT OF POCKET THESE TRAINERS HAVE GONE MISSING EITHER IN THE HANDS OF JD SPORTS OR HERMES BUT I HAVE PAID FOR THEM !!!! I HAVE TRIED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO CONTACT HERMES BUT TO NO AVAIL .AS IT IS THE COMPANY THAT YOU USE I THINK IT IS YOUR JOB TO TRACK THESE ITEMS I AM DISGUSTED AT THE WAY I HAVE BEEN TREATED BY ALL YOUR MEMBERS OF STAFF AND WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ITEM FROM YOURSELVES THIS IS OUT AND OUT THEFT AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED AND I WILL CONTINUE TO REVIEW YOU WHEREVER I CAN TILL THIS IS SORTED!!!

JDSports online is absolute joke and as for customer service it is non existent. placed and paid for order on 27.11.20 which was to be delivered in 5-7 days and is xmas presents. still no sign of it have emailed and got no response cant get to speak to anyone on phone as lines always too busy and they cut you off. have tried online chat and this is also automated service and keeps saying order should be delivered on or before 3 December even though it is now 13 December - absolute joke. I am just going round in circles trying to find put where this order is and if I am likely to get it in time for xmas. WILL NEVER SHOP ONLINE JDSPORTS AGAIN AND STRONGLY ADVISE EVERYONE ELSE TO STEER CLEAR.

Absolutely vile and RACIST service I genuinely never been disgusted by a company in my life especially despite what is going on in the world! Ordered a tracksuit and trainers on the 16th October and over a month later still NO goods or refund. Rang customer services multiple times, the first 1st time I'm being advised it's going to be 10 days to investigate where the parcel is! Waited and rang again and as told sorry it's not been looked at so it's 10 days from now!! Asked to speak to a manager and was told it's not possible so by me expressing my dissatisfaction I get told "Sorry but your people steal and report stolen goods often" First of all who's my people exactly?? I've got a typical African surname stop my guess is it's quite clear what the advisor meant!!! No sorry nothing, Waited again and after 23 days I get told by a manager sorry you were advised wrong it's actually 28 days??!! What customer waits 2 months for a tracksuit honestly this is ridiculous. Worst thing is when I ring I get told "sorry no-one can take your call especially managers" Right now I can't see myself using this pathetic service ever again and I HIGHLY recommend no-one use it either unless you have a family member in the complaints dept! This isn't worth some trainers and certainly not being spoke to like a minor. Horrible company! There shouldn't be any room for racism/stereotyping/discrimination of any sort especially with customer services!

It's shocking that the management is doing nothing to all these mountains of negative complaints. My daughter has made to different orders, one as a guest and the other one I advised her to register so that she could track the orders. At this point the first one have not arrived yet and the second one which she is tracking is still in the warehouse for days. Please can management do something about this, I will never advise and body to order from jd sports again. Huge disappointment

Rubbish customer service. Advisers are encouraged to lie to customers and fob them off in the hope they just go away and drop the issue. Customer Service is outsourced to a company who don’t train staff properly and are more interested in advisers logging all calls within 8 minutes than actually delivering real customer service. JD, Tessuti, Scotts and Footpatrol are all the same company. If you want to boycott JD, boycott the others as well.

Absolutely worst company !! Ordered 2 pairs of shoes and got a partial refund for one pair as it wasn’t in stock at the time of delivery. It’s not my fault they take 7 days just to get the order together ... never mind shipping it... you buy something and they take the money of your card and then 7 days later they tell you they don’t have it in stock... And they also have the guts to put that in their terms and conditions ... my god could you be anymore pathetic... stay away from them at any cost

I spent £700 with this company in April didn’t recieve any of the goods I ordered I’ve sent emails even wrote to the company they had the cheek to refund me £75 three months later they don’t Answer emails I have lung cancer and this company still has me stressing every day to try and retrieve my money

I understand that these times are not normal due to the corona virus, but the total lack of response from JD sports depsite taking my money without any issues, tried lots of times to deal with their online help Betty, who is not help whatsoever. I will not be ordering from JD sports again.

Worst service ever don't shop here. My daughter ordered and paid for a pair of trainers in store with xmas money over 3 weeks ago. 2 days later got confirmation email to say it was making it's way through the warehouse and that's the last I heard until I contacted last week. It must be a hell of a warehouse if it takes over 3 weeks! Following my email I received 2 emails saying due to backlogs there's been a delay and finally today an email to say my order had been cancelled. So they've been with my daughters money for 3 weeks gainjng interest on it, no wonder there doing well if there doing the same thing to lots of customers which from reading these reviews it sounds like they are. This is totally wrong and shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. if my husband who's self employed took money before he did the job and then refused to deliver the goods he'd be sued but JD know people won't go to those lengths so carry on false advertising when they know the stocks not there to deliver and taking the money! If I could put no stars I would have dreadful appalling service & I shall tell everyone what a rip off they are. Shame on you as I won't be shopping with you again you get a better service I Primark and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Shops like you deserve to go bankrupt and if you carry on with this awful service you will!

Absolutely disgusted and fuming 😡 ordered stuff from jds for my partners birthday and hasn’t arrived due yesterday. Would never order from them again. Ringing around since yesterday and still no answers. It’s a disgrace. Same 2 weeks ago order a tracksuit and only the hoodie came. Had to go to JD sports Liffey valley twice to have it sorted as in the first instance the shops stock would be down. God forbid it should inconvenient them ( also ques out the door). Not to mention My sisters teenagers tracksuit arrived and it wouldn’t fit a 6 yr old, wrong order in that case ... Now this absolutely gutted. Imagine presenting someone with an invoice on their birthday, these were ordered for Xmas but I said I’ll give him the birthday gifts on Xmas and the goods I ordered would do for his birthday. Their delivery providers DPD were no help either. #JDSPORTS #LIFFEYVALLEY #JD #DPD

Have been phoning and writing to no help whatsoever. I have 2 orders that are sitting doing nothing. You get told buy 1 person that it will be in store that day. Then your told no its still in the warehouse you have to wait. I have no idea what's going now there blaming black friday. You would think a big company like JD Sports would be organised. I hope this is sorted soon as these are Xmas gifts so come on JD get with it. Merry Xmas or should I say BAH Humbug.
