“I booked and paid for a brake fluid change (on-line) last night and was given a 12 noon slot to take my car to the Brighouse branch of Kwik Fit.
I arrived a few minutes early and was asked to leave my car/key with them.
I asked why? and was told that they were very busy and had lots of jobs in.
I said that I was willing to leave it for an hour (brake fluid changes are not time-consuming) only to be told that they couldn't tell me when it would be ready. He said that as well as the fluid change, they had to undertake a 45 minute brake check!
I told him to cancel the job as I hadn't got all day to await it.
He then tells me that I can't have a refund today because I had paid on-line, and that the employee who deals with refunds wasn't in.
I drove a 12 mile round trip and wasted time/diesel to be treated like my custom is pretty much worthless.
Don't let them get away with this disgraceful way of treating customers.
Terrible service.”
“Kwikfit put new oil in my car without draining the old, despite written report from other garage which fixed it,still trying to get Kwik-fit to admit it and pay for what it cost me to put right.”
“Glasgow road, Dumbarton. Utter crooks. They said I needed a new exhaust and would charge me to store car overnight while new one arrived!!! Took it another local and they replaced a hanger! Not the first time I've heard this either. Avoid!!”
“Really bad customer service which may cost us about 4000 pounds. Kwikfit Giffnock on Fenwick Road, Glasgow incorrectly entered the mileage during Mot in 2022 to my wife’s car adding 20000 miles onto the mot certificate. Then said they couldn’t change it and would have to go through another mot so they could add a note onto the new mot…this was done but now my wife’s car can’t be taken as a part exchange worth 4000 pounds when buying a new car as the system at the national mileage register has not been updated and kwikfit are stating they can’t contact dvsa to change the mistake as there is NO proof of the original mileage in the first place and even though it is clear that it is the testers mistake, Kwikfit say there is nothing they can do with regards to an official change at dvsa. All they can do is issue an apology but that doesn’t help the situation as anyone taking the car as part exchange is insisting that this register be updated instead of showing a 20k mileage doscrepency when the cars mileage os searched. Now my wife is u able to sell this car. Customer service person who is apparently the manager at customer care team at kwikfit confirms this is all Kwik-Fit can do in this case.”
“I would like to mention about my visit to KwikFit at Richfield Avenue in Reading today, where nothing seems to have gone well.
Hope the below details will help you to assess if there is anything wrong as a whole with that centre.
First and foremost thing - didn't see anyone who looked like they are experienced. After the car went on ramp, they informed that rear tyres are best if replaced along with front tyres as the rear ones are only left with 3mm tread on them. I have informed them, I'll have to come back for that with a different appointment. I firmly believe it didn't go well with them and things started going bad from there on.
The following things which I have requested on the order placed were not even verified and fedback. if they are not going to be verified, why to have that line-item? may be for promotional purposes!!
Battery health check
Visual breake check
Wheel alignment check
Express tyre fitment line item is a joke by itself. Took almost 1.5hrs to just change tyres without doing any of the aforementioned checks. Once the car is I handed over to me, had to go back to have the air in tyres re-done on rear passesnger side tyre. No clue why they had to mess with rear passenger tyre when the work requested is to replace front two tyres - isn't it a classic malpractice? When I went back to get the air re-done, they are deliberately taking forever attending to it and focusing on clerical work which is literally nothing to be done. As a whole I spent around 2hrs just to get 2 tyres changed - from 15:35hrs to 17:40hrs. What a shame, haven't come across this kind of 'express tyre fitment' in the last 20+ years.
I have requested that I dispose the tyres myself in Reading recycling centre, but they informed that tyre disposal money that was charged won't be refunded!!! Why? It is not required by law that I dispose the tyres through you and when you aren't disposing the tryes for me, you have no right to charge me, do you?
Very unhappy with the experience today at KwikFit”
“I needed a mobile tyre fitter. Rang the local Kwik-Fit and they gave me a number to ring. After 30 minutes I was still on hold. Tried ringing Customer Services and Head Office. Couldn't get any of them to answer.”
“I booked the very first appointment on a Saturday morning then waited two hours to have a tyre fitted. The fitted stripped two of the studs and couldn’t get the nuts back on. In the end tried to blame on who ever fitted tyre before. They suggested I go to main dealer and get two new ones. Turns out that’s a waste of time because they’ve stripped the thread so badly they won’t go on. Now go to take a day off work and have fixed at my local garage. Would not use them again if you put a gun to my ahead, shocking service.”
“Went in for a tyre tracking at Eirth branch came out with extras… damages to the car bonnet. Don’t expect the staff to acknowledge the damaged, they just laugh at your face, very rude, its your words against theirs unless you took extra measures by taking pictures of your car’s condition beforehand. Let’s just say, we will never be using Eirth Kwik-Fix again. Visit Eirth Kwik-Fix at your own risk, the management does not take any responsibility for any damages to your car made by any member of staff. You have been WARNED!”
“I have only given 1 star as can't give a minus !
Car booked in for service and MOT for 10 weeks - paid upfront. Arrived at the centre to be told "we don't do an MOT on a MONDAY".
I could go into all the ins and outs of the conversation that followed but I wont bore you all.
Suffice to say, they lied about trying to contact me, their customer complaints email seems to disappear into the great beyond and their refund policy is a very unfunny joke - took my cash 10 weeks before my appointment but apparently I have to wait a minimum of 10 days to get a refund !!
CLOWNS - BUT KILLER ONES !!”
“Today Sunday 1st oct 2023 went to Kwik fit Lancaster, with my fiat 500 and rapidly losing air puncture, a very rude off hand staff member said they had no time to fix my puncture and check tyre, they could maybe fit me in Tuesday !! I then asked if they could blow it up, to give me a chance to get help, they again refused, which was quite shocking and not unnoticed by other customers, it would seem they were only interested in selling new tyres and were also not women friendly, a very short sighted view, they are open Sundays and should not employ staff who would obviously do not want to be at work, Kwik fit bosses need to step in.”
“Very unprofessional staff are illiterate unable to write even postcode unable to help with simple repair after being informed they will not be able to repair I went to small garage and had repair done in 15 minutes”
“They cancel Mot bookings and use the excuse the tester fell ill. In reality they are over booked and need to put work off. This has happened twice. Basic ball joint needed replacing they did not have the skillset to do this.”
“Kwik fit is the worst garage mechanic ever will never know until you take your vehicle to one of them , I went last week for full service cost me £277 from 10am to 15pm and they said to me I have oil leak , the 4 break to be change very soon , rear tyre to be change , I said I will bring my vehicle in deferent day , so I took it deferent garage to investigate all what's wrong they none of this things to be change except the if I want as I travel every day to work , guess what didn't even charge for the check-up except the tyre,
So Honestly I'm not even sure if kiwifit did full service or not , to take £277
If anyone do go to kwik fit stay next to your vehicle just in case or there all of good garages out there, and cheaper”
“took car in for a tyre puncture, cost £27.00
on inspection of said tyre, the nail i could see was in the tread , no where near the rim,, kwik fit mechanic said needs a new tyre , cost £130
took it to another tyre garage £10, fixed puncture. happy man. what is kwik fit policy
don’t fix puncture when we can flog a new tyre instead”
“Recently took a punctured tyre into Kwikfit Deal, the repaired it and charged me £30...After a day the tyre lost pressure, i took it back to be repaired properly! It was a small nail in the tread. They rang me and said the repair had been badly done and i would need a new tyre saying they would discount it as it was their fault. offered £30 off £211 tyre..Obviously this wasn't a discount as they were only refunding the poor repair..The tyre was then 179
I checked on two local garages and the price was £164....Never again!”
“Went into Kwik-Fit today(Wednesday) and the earliest they could check my tyres and exhaust was the following Monday.....what amazing service....!!!!!!!! Will not go there again”
