I'm writing this complaint to express my massive disappointment with the service I experienced today. I arrived promptly for my 12pm tyre fitting. I was initially unhappy with being told to wait 1hr to 1.5hrs for the changing of 4 tyres. I thought, ok, it's Sunday, they must be short staffed.
The technician informed me my tracking was off as there was some uneven wear. I declined to take the service and felt like I was laughed at for my decision.
The process of changing the tyres started over an hour later. I then decided to have the tracking completed. The technician started my car and to my annoyance revved my car unnecessarily loudly several times. This happened when moving from the tyre fitting bay to the wheel alignment bay. I told the technician to not do that in a very polite manner as the engine was cold and when the oil is cold the engine can be damaged.
Another technician told me the price was £65 via card and £40 cash. I was put in a very awkward position as I knew the cash would be pocketed to keep it " off the books" no doubt. Stupidly I agreed, and withdrew £40 for a local ATM.
When the alignment process started my car was revved again. To avoid confrontation I said nothing bit was very upset. The alignment was completed and was told the front alignment was fine but the rear was off slightly. I was then told to fix the rear would be an "additional charge". Having lost total faith in the service at this stage I declined. I went back to the office. When my car was being reversed out, for the third time it was revved loudly and the car wheel spun in reverse. By this stage I just wanted to leave. I told the technician at the desk checking me out the the alignment was fine despite his original advice and he said he had saved me money, only by me not paying him directly had I saved money. Had I not questioned this I would have been robbed of £40.
2.5hrs later I left.
I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted either the quality if work, abuse of my car and "cash in hand" tactics I have to endure. If this isn't the channel to make an official complaint, please can you point me to the direction of where this can be made?
It's just not good enough and I'm so upset by the whole customer experience. I'm inclined to never use your firm again and tell all my colleagues and friends the same.

I can not believe how disorganised this company is!
I have a slow puncture. i booked to get it fixed. booked it for 1030, easy enough.
Turn up to the garage only to be told that they had double booked and there was nothing they could do - sending me away to drive on my flat tyre.
They do not care about their customers and did absolutely nothing to even help resolve the issue.”
“My fiancé took my car in for an alignment check 14 days ago. It was off so he agreed for them to fix it. Today I failed my MOT due to both front track rod ends and ball joints being extremely loose with excessive play. The alignment had never been done which has caused the ball joints to be damaged. There was a slight vibration in the front end on the drivers side, that was the whole reason for the alignment. The so called “well trained staff” should have never left them loose. They told my fiancé to get new rotators and brake pads to fix the issue. Both of which are only about 6 months old. Kwik fit gave him the “Yankee Treatment” since he is an American. Which means they did nothing and still charged him. Sure enough the ball joints were replaced and tracking rods tightened and the vibration is gone. Everyone who worked in the garage where I had my MOT confirmed the alignment had never been done. I do not recommend Kwik fit. In fact, avoid them at any cost!”
“Went to the Tynemouth branch in Tyne & Wear for four tyres which they fitted and then told me they couldn't align the wheels for another 2/3 weeks as they didn't have time. They didn't tell me that before they fit the tyres. having paid £623:16p. Stay clear of this place. They got one star and aren't worth that. They made me see red and not stars.”
“I went to Kwik Fit Heanor Saturday for an oil change. Prepaid a day before. Arrived at 5min before booking time, 3h later they haven't looked at the car yet, 4h after arrival they gave the car back with more errors and warnigs than it came. Asked them to sort the "oil pressure low - stop safely" red warning they created in shop, they refused. I insisted and told them they fitted a part incorrectly and need to check. Service kid said "...but redlight is still on" tiller replied shouting his lungs out "I don't give a f... just send them away". I insisted still he refused to check their work. Next week I called KF in Lichfield where I was, told them the oil filter was the issue they refused to see me - "go back where you came from and sort it there, we're fully booked". Called Slowgit Heanor, told them the diagnosys, asked them to correct it he insisted it's not their and I need to do a service instead. Finally, I went to a 3rd party and determined Slowgit has fitted the oil filter incorrectly (forced it in, broke it/bent it so contact was imperfect). They knowingly endangered my and my kid's life because they could not be bothered to get another 10 pound oil filter they damaged during fitting. After 6 hours in shop for an oil change and a life threatening experience I got the money back, no apology.”
“Booked and played for new tyre to be fitted at home after staying in for 3 hours got phone call to say they would not be there but booked me in at Musgrove way on Sunday at 12.00 not happy but went on Sunday.
Got there at 12.00 to find out they had not booked me in also the tyre I had played for was not there if it was not for the staff at cosgrove way would not have got a tyre fitted but only tyre they had was twice the price they did give me a discount but will need another tyre next month if I get same one will cost more what a rip off and informed home fitting do this all the time.
Called up and made a complaint over a week ago still no reply told they would contact me even had to ask for my £5 home fitting fee back total rubbish service from home fitting they are called kwik fit you have got to get your tyres and someone to fit them to be kwik ?”
“We booked an MOT for 10 days before expiry. The day before, Kwikfit phoned to say they had to cancel. The next available date was 2 days after expiry of the MOT. We couldn't find another convenient MOT station and so confirmed the new booking with Kwikfit with the understanding that we would not be able to use the vehicle for two days because the MOT was expired. The evening before the date of the second booking, we again received a phone call from Kwikfit cancelling the booking. The next availability was then another 8 days away!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE”
“Finding non-existent faults - trying to up sell.
I took my car in to the Bristol Kwik Fit (in Bedminster) to have the two front tyres replaced.
When I came to collect the car they said they had found an issue with the front coil spring, "part of it was missing" and that if you looked closely at the car you could see it was lopsided (I couldn't).
Bizarrely they said it was still okay to drive but recommended I booked in with them soon to get it replaced. They quoted me £270 and gave me a print out of the quote, so I have a record of the work they were claiming needed doing and charging for.
When I got home I looked up broken coil springs and advice online was if there is any issue you should NOT drive the car and get it replaced immediately.
I took it to my local garage, they had a look and said the front coil spring is fine, there is no break and the car isn't lopsided at all.
Completely fraudulent attempt to get unnecessary work done. I will avoid Kwik Fit like the plague now. I have reported in to the Head Office but not received anything back.”
“The manager at Newbury is rude/unhelpful and really dosent care if they get the business or not! Different story at Andover branch, helpful and polite. I won't ever use newbury again! Their loss on about £400 worth of tires.”
“Non show and no refund
Really disappointing. We’ve used them twice for their home tyre services. Both times they’ve let us down. The first being that they didn’t have the tyre we ordered promised a refund and never gave it. The most recent being where we confirmed an appointment, had text messages in the morning as confirmation, took a half day off and they never showed. We called and the team simply said they ran out of time, understandable if there had been some form of communication to let us know. We’ve asked for a refund now. I’d us anyone else for their services.”
“Kwik Fit - Life-threatening Brake Pads!!!
A year ago I went to Kwik Fit to change the brake pads and front tires. They told me that if I pay approximately 3 times more, they will put brake pads on the car but guaranteed for life. I liked what they said and I accepted. A year later, the brake pad sensor tells me that they need to be changed. Surprised, I went to a branch, they told me that I had to go to the one who did the work.....I traveled 30 miles, I arrived and explained to them, they told me that the miraculous brake pads can still consume and they don't put new ones if the discs are not within legal parameters. Hmmm, it seemed strange to me and I asked them to show me this rule, they didn't have it available, I said ok, let's measure the discs, they said they didn't have time and to come back. A week later I showed up 15 minutes before the opening to measure the discs. According to their measurements, they told me that they are at the minimum and that they cannot change my guaranteed life time brake pads. I explain to them that by law, if the discs are at their minimum, they must not be changed and if they refuse to change these very expensive brake pads, they are putting my life and that of my family in danger. I asked them once more about this rule, this time they had a printed sheet that somehow included this aspect. I told him that that sheet is not manufactured or shop rule and isn't signed by anyone, so it is worthless and the law does not oblige me to change the discs if they are at the minimum, it just advises me, which means that I can still do a relatively large number of miles. Without brake pads, I consider my life and that of my family to be in danger. For these reasons, please avoid this service group.

“Booked a MOT at Nailsea branch and after a 30min wait they refused to test the car due to a faulty boot latch??? What they should have done is do the test they had been paid for and fail it on the fault, I then had to waste more time calling head office for the refund, the Nailsea manager was unhelpful and condescending, this is the second poor experience at this branch and it will be the last.”

Had two front tyres replaced , on driving home I noticed that the tyre pressures are 35 & 38psi. One must be wrong! or both!. When I returned home contacted Kwik fit and asked what the correct tyre pressures are "they're on the A post" the manager replied, so why can't your stupid lazy fitter have had a look. "Bring the car back and we will adjust the tyres" So you want me to spend the day driving to and from Kwik fit? Sometimes the tyres read higher and need to be driven for a while 🤔😂😂.
I'm trying hard not to think what may happen should this fitter work on a car that safety critical”
“Appalling. Booked online for a full service 5th Aug. Arrived to be told technician off sick for 6 weeks. Despite having my email & mobile number no prior cancellation message to let me know. I booked the service on 9th July & paid the £200 deposit. This is yet to be refunded having been told 3-4 working days.”

Absolutely appalling service from kwik fit in Bath. I turned up with an emergency flat tyre that was unsafe to drive on. I arrived at 15:30 on a Sunday.
The worker couldn't be bothered to change my tyre as he wanted to go home early instead. I was left stranded 200 miles from home and had to resort to buying the tyre from kwik fit and using another company (at further expense) to fit it in the kwik fit car park! The change took less than 15 minutes. The technician was also shocked that kwik fit refused to change it.
Absolutely diabolical service, avoid, avoid, avoid”
“Booked to have my tyres changed on the drive, 2 weeks in advance so they could order the tyres - day of fitting no show, no call, after 20mins on hold was told that they would call me back - 2 hours later was told tires hadn’t come in and they would be out tomorrow, second day exactly the same storey

I searched around found the cheapest MOT £30 with Kwik Fit, at the end I spent just under £1000!!!
Their service was no problems, but I spent too much, I am broke !
I have tried to book for a cheapest MOT of £30 then I found Qwik Fit, then they suggested on the website said doing MOT and a Full Service would safe money, and then I went for MOT and Full Service. My car is MINI Cooper 2017 which is quick new with a very lower mileage when my late husband bought it two years ago. After I took the car in, they call me said my brake had serious problems, and my car has a lot of other problems too, brake must be changed, otherwise will be so danger for my safety, I agreed it was danger for me. At last,costed me just under £1000.00! And they were very kind to give me £14 discount back.
I have checked on google, the parts for the car they changed for me are quick cheap online, does any one can tell me whether mini cooper has special part much more expensive than others showed online?
And my car is quite new, and it has never had any badly collision. We bought from a BMW mini cooper proper dealer garage in Yovil.
I am unemployed, can't find a job, jobs everywhere i saw, no one wanted to give me a job. I am ill since my husband die and waiting for a surgery, I worked so hard for selling my husband's old things for my daily living, in 3 and 4 months I made nearly £1000, which needs to deduct the patrol costs, the postage, wrapping materials, I don't know how much left. I've never bought a burger, a cup of tea from the Carboots sell, always brought some my own food or starving waiting to be back home cook for myself. We have a house for sale but haven't got a penny from it, even when i get it, I will share the founds with step daughter and sons. But I have to spend my own saving for a four bedroom house which I only need a room, or even a bed.
The thing is: did this car really need to change everything and spent that such a large lump of bills?
Maybe people think why I drive a good car. Because my husband had carcer, needed me to take him very far away for his chemotherapys, that was why he bought a very reliable car, with the lowest mileage on the market at that time incase the car had problems, disrupted me to take him to hospital immediately for his bleeding as well. So my car I can see is quite reliable.
I will attach my bill here, hope some kind of people could help me check whether they overcharged me for the units.”
“2 tyres ordered yesterday to fit today. Went today, 1 tyre changed, said he couldn't get the locking but off 2nd wheel. I actually watched him use his power drill to try to remove locking nut. The key was totally stripped and now useless. He blamed whoever's tightened the nuts on the last change had done them to tight. I have had my car 6 years and never a problem with locking nuts. Needless to say I went elsewhere for 2nd tyre. I ordered mid range tyre and was given , according to 2nd tyre firm, a budget tyre. £90. Fitting was £17. I thought fitting was included when you bought a tyre. Never again. Will make a point of seeing manager.”
“Largs branch were supposed to align my wheels, however they tried not to give me the print out of the before and after results which they are supposed to provide. I had to push hard to get the prints, however they were not properly filled in and had someone else’s registration number on my print. I assume the job was never done and I was fobbed off with someone else’s results. Customer service just keeps asking for online forms to be filled in but never replies, complete waste of time and money. Go to your local garage, these guys are con merchants. Next stop for me is trading standards !”
