“Took my car to Kwik Fit Bolton. Told that puncture repair not possible and new tyre would cost in excess of £230….not in stock but could offer me a different make of tyre for £220. I questioned this, as I didn’t think it wise to have a different make of tyre on one wheel. Asked if they could inflate my tyre so that I could shop around for a tyre that was the same make as the other three tyres. Today, I went to a tyre company recommended by my mechanic- they repaired the tyre at a cost of £14.”
“Absolutely disgusting customer service at the Bournemouth branch. Their card machine would not work. I said I could do a bank transfer which they declined and said unless I leave my card details (which I dont want to do for data protection) they would take the tyres of my van!!! Wasting my time and being obstructional and unhelpful. Go anywhere apart from Kwikfit! Drive away happy every time??? I don't think so!!!”
“Don't use Kwik Fit !
Don't use Kwik Fit !! As a company they have zero customer service. People lie and as a result I have had to pay £2,927 to fix my car after damage this was done at the Leamington Spa Branch 28/08/2024. Branch have accepted liability and told me to get it fixed and send invoice once work is completed to them settle the claim (Have evidence) But Kwik Fit Operations have denied any liability and even made things up. After weeks of trying to get a reply they only came back when I said I was seeking legal advice.”
“I may have a record time in waiting for a problem repair on my brilliant running low mileage 2009 Vauxhaul Zafira at Kwik Fit Aberdeen by an employee caused during an MOT. Its been 15 months and still ongoing since May 2023. I'm in contact with Guinness Records to see if I qualify for an entry. Its cost me almost £8000 in this time while they've danced around the repairs and lies. They were helpful at the start but now think I am only worth the cost of the MOT "£2000" and the cost of road tax and Insurance £800+. Nothing towards compensation of the £5000 it cost me being cornered to buy another car because I had had enough of waiting. I await Guinness Records and by heck I will make sure their treatment towards me is World Wide. Their very first off of £200??? A "Goodwill gesture" £200?? Can you believe that for over 15 months plus no car and it was THEIR fault?? Now I am stuck with a car I cant sell because I don't trust it to last. Its been in and out their garage so much I had to log it. Jason Barry was the person who was "nice to start with" but now thinks I am a fool. We'll soon see, Mr Barry. More to follow.”
“Kwik fit mobile service is really bad. From my first call till the service, very bad. Customer service were mean and not willing to help, 4 customer service so far. Promised to come during 11am - 1am, end up with no show up till 4:30pm. When i called up to check the status, two customer service rep are badly response. The price is premium, the service is below average. They are charging me GBP100 for on site service, GBP180 for one tyre which is at least 30% higher than market. Never recommend this company to anyone.”
“My wife and I visited Southport today to pay our respects (Sunday 4th August 2024), we travelled from Bolton, when we arrived the tyre pressure light illuminated on the dash of our Fiat 500, I checked the pressures and found one of the rear tyres to be very low, as we do not have a spare in this model of car, we found the local Kwik Fit (Southport). The time was approx 14.40pm, I called in and spoke to a gentleman and explained that we were not from the area and we possibly had a puncture as I already checked the pressures and added air, he was very unsympathetic and told me that there was nothing he could do as they were too busy, I could see 2 vehicles in the bay and 2 staff. I left disgusted at the thought of him ignoring the fact that we could be stranded over 30 miles from hope. My local Kwik Fit in Bolton are fantastic, they would never leave someone stranded. Shame on you Kwik Fit Southport.”
“A funny thing happened to me at Kwik Fit recently. I took my car in for an MOT on June 12, 2025, and it failed due to a worn tyre and a rod end ball joint dust cover. They quoted me around £500 for the necessary repairs, which I paid. They changed three tyres, including the nearside rear tyre, and then retested the MOT.
Here's where it gets interesting: despite supposedly changing the nearside rear tyre, they added an advisory note about a nail in that very same tyre! Now I'm left scratching my head, wondering if they actually did the work or if I'm just out £500 for nothing. I have all the evidence and the invoice to back this up.
It looks like they didn’t do my first MOT properly and failed it just to make money on repairs. On the retest, they seem to have just copied and pasted without properly checking it. This whole experience has left me questioning their competence and honesty. I would advise others to be cautious and maybe think twice before using Kwik Fit for their MOT and repair needs.”
“Do not use Kwikfit. Took my car for Mot, it fail on ball joint rubber cover. Was quoted £200 for part & repair. After a week of waiting for them to get the rubber covering. Ordered one myself, it cost £8 including postage. Took my car to another two garages and there is nothing wrong with it, went straight through the Mot. I have used Kwikfit in the past. But never again. They are a rip off garage. Do Not Use...”
“Just throwing this into the mix for people to make their own minds up. In Huddersfield there are two Kwik Fits, Leeds Road and Lockwood. In 2016 i took my LWB Jaguar XJ to Lockwood as the tyres were noisy. Was told that they were all cracked and that one ‘had a split all the way round’ and that i was lucky i got there given the power of the car. Total bill circa £1200.00
In 2021 i took my Saab Convertible to the Leeds Road branch. Was told all my tyres were illegal and ‘one had a split all the way round’. Totsl bill circa £380.00
In 2024 i took my Bentley to Lockwood for them to check a slow puncture. I had recently had the wheels refurbished and suspected either a poor seal or faulty valve. I was told they were very busy and i would have to wait for them to check it. Got chatting to two other customers in the waiting area who both said they had been waiting over two hours even though they had appointments. Eventually they guy who seemed to be in charge went out to my car and got down on his knees to look at my rear tyre, no attempt to take the wheel off and actually locate the leak and guess what he said? ‘I’ll be changing that one, it’s got a split all the way round and if you unleashed the power of the car you would have serious problems’.
Quoted £649.00 for two new tyres. The tyres are Pirelli PZero 275/35 ZR20 B1 specifically for my car and fortunately they are not currently available, Bentley are letting me know when they arrive in the UK. When i got home i got down and checked the tyre myself, no split that i could see in fact the tyre looked in great condition. Spent £10 on Tyre Weld from Halfords and the tyre has lost zero pressure since.
Iam a 58 year old man and during my life i have owned/had the use of more than 50 cars and the only ones that have had tyres with ‘splits all the way round’ are the ones i have taken to Kwik Fit Lockwood and Leeds Road, Huddersfield.
Food for though?”
“Tonbridge - I waited for a part ( a pipe ) to be delivered to finish a previous job, waited a few weeks, called a few times and was always told I would be called back to say whether they had it in or not but never was. I then booked an MOT, called them the day before asking about the part again and was told to bring the car down so they could replace ready for the MOT the next day. They had my car the whole afternoon and only 3 hours after collecting ( only about 30 mins of driving in total though ) I suddenly had white smoke from my bonnet & exhaust, a grinding noise, dash warning lights & my car started slowing down. RAC guy noticed that my radiator hose had been placed back but not actually clipped on, after bumps in the road and the right amount of pressure was built up it pushed the pipe out of place causing all my coolant to pour out. We left it at Kwik Fit and I went down the next morning with the RAC report to show them. Basically my head gasket was blown along with other stuff and was apparently going to cost over £1,500 to fix. Management never admitted fault in actual words however they did fork out quite a bit for me to have a courtesy car ( which was one of the two only decent parts of this stress ) for a month... it took a whole month for this case to be with the ops manager and he hadn't even made a simple decision whether to fix or buy my car which is ridiculous. The second decent thing being the centre manager seems like a alright guy and he took the case on himself in the end and I got an answer in two days. At the end of all this even though the garage is at fault ( and I had one of the mechanics on the phone actually say "oh yeah, the car we blew up" so there we go..) they ended up buying my car from me but even though what happened wasn't my fault, I still made a loss of money, the whole month was stressful but especially trying to find a new car quickly and after only having the previous one 6 months. Overall awful communication throughout, clearly don't pay proper close attention to their work and don't like to sort things out quickly or efficiently. I would just go somewhere else if I were you.”
“Usual nonsense walk in with a simple fixable puncture and they provide a list of nonsense reasons why you need two brand new tyres - this time ‘well gravel tyres are not good for tyres!!!’ - Kwik Fit should not commission operatives on tyre sales!!!!”
“Booked a same day mobile tyre fitting. Took my booking, time slot & money. Booking confirmation received. An hour later a phone call received to say they couldn’t do it today and it would be a two day wait before they could proceed. Refund would take 3-5 days. Why take the booking if you can’t do it. Dishonest. Now stranded.”
“Refused to fix a puncture on a mobility car ,told to leave it and get a Taxi they might fix it before the weekend yet 3 members off staff were stood chatting, did not even offer to put air in so I could get home Disgusting”
“Wrong work completed. Overcharged. Fitted incorrectly left unsafe to drive. Managers resolution was to take old part to he welded on by a third party. Told couldn't get correct part..they didn't exist. Yet main dealer confirmed it did. Had diagnostic at main dealer and confirmed £810 to put right... Already paid £,844 for unnecessary work already. Car unsafe to drive for 2 weeks. Put in complaint and sent video and photographic evidence to customer care who did not respond just passed on to area manager. who basically called me a liar . The manager and technician had covered their tracks with lies. I can prove im not a liar as phone calls are recorded. I have video of unsafe work. Husband there for face to face conversations so have another person to confirm. I had an exhaust held on by silicon. Area manager said bring in new exhaust and they will fit it .. yet on Kwik fit website it says it's not their policy to fit parts brought in by customers . Don't know where to go now to escalate ..plus there's defamation of character. Having repair done by main dealer costing £810 for parts. I feel so upset and abused and it's been the most distressing upsetting experience. They should be shut down . They are criminals and they say I'm a liar. Disgusted doesn't come close.”
“I booked my car in for an oil and filter change at Kwik Fit Lisburn. My amber engine management light had come on a few days before and I asked my mechanic to have a look at the car. After putting the car on the diagnostics machine he recommended a) The oil to be changed as it was a little gloopy and a new filter and b) A sensor in the exhaust was faulty and needed replaced as it was causing the car to stall every now and again and it was the reason the engine management light was on. My mechanic was happy to do both jobs for me and advised neither were extremely urgent but I had to wait two weeks for him. Due to the fact that he had mentioned the oil and the filter I preferred to get that part completed asap and Kwik Fit had an immediate slot available so I grabbed it. I booked online which meant paying in full the day before and I called Lisburn before paying to make absolutely sure they would have the filter in stock as it meant closing my business for the time it took to complete the job. Everything was agreed and I attended the appointment ahead of time with my 3 year old son. On arrival I met with the manager who I knew straight away didn't really want me to be there based on his horrible attitude. I attempted to lighten the mood by entering into conversation about the car and how busy mechanics were these days but his mood did not change. I expressed how happy I was that I could get an appointment at such short notice and I mentioned how relieved I would be to get one of the two jobs I needed completed so quickly. I went on to explain what my mechanic had advised and he took great pleasure in immediately refusing to touch my car based on "Kwik Fit policy." This policy, that still remains a mystery to me, states that if your car has an engine fault they cannot work on your car at all. I asked for a copy of the policy to be told it "isn't written down anywhere." I said I would sign a disclaimer which I was told wasn't an option. I explained about the sensor being the reason for the engine management light being on but that explanation wasn't accepted. Long story short after the manager basically abused me for thirty minutes he then threw me out of his garage and I was stuck in Lisburn without the money I had paid to Kwik Fit and no repair. I contacted customer services who did seem to be taking me seriously at first but then just referred me to an area manager who said he was fully aware of the Lisburn managers poor communication skills and inability to deal with customers but he was correct to not fix the car. In the meantime I had called all ten Kwik Fits in Northern Ireland and explained that my engine management light was on, my car was stalling and my oil and filter needed changed and seven of the ten were happy to book me in straight away as it seems they are also completely unaware of this "policy." I asked the area manager for a copy of the policy but he could not produce it either. I told the area manager that seven of the ten branches would complete the repair and he didn't seem too concerned. I explained that when booking online there are no questions asked about issues with your car but this was brushed aside. In a nutshell I will never ever ever go back to Kwik fit for anything and I wont be recommending anyone ever does either.”
“Had a puncture and had 230 mile trip to get home , went to 3 different depots and not one would try to fix it , told me they could do it 3 days later , won’t ever use a kwik fit ever again”
“Kwik fit canal street Perth should be 0 stars
Avoid, dishonest and took advantage of my 22 year old daughter, more interested in upselling than providing good customer service. When complained they deny what they actually said. You can’t win. Will be raising a complaint with the motor ombudsman and trading standards.”
