Dear All review reader’s. Regards To Folkestone Kwik Fit. I am writing this review for the benefit of all especially for an elderly woman who was most blatantly ripped off. This is also combined with complaint for the treatment that I received as an out side MoT contractor. I must stress I have no affiliation with Kiwk Fit nor do I intend to after the treatment and dishonest sales practice that I have seen not to mention the substandard workmanship. Some time ( Last month February 2023 ) ago, a lady came in with her Fiat 500 for a knocking noise from her front suspension on her car. Simple enough the Fiat 500 is a pretty standard car nothing complex here. At this time I was in-between Mot’s and after watching various ill trained staff miss diagnosing the fault. I had a quick look, i found the fault in less time it took the so called mechanic change his bum. The fault was a detached front lower control arm bush, Pretty common on the Fiat 500. Now this is where it gets worse, on Auto Data, E3 Technical as well as main dealer book time this job would come in at 1.2Hrs to remove and replace said part. Which should not have cost the customer no more than lets say £200.00 all in. Mr Ashley Laker the branch manager tripled the cost if not more, claiming that it would take at least five hours. During my conversation with him I said that this job is a one hour job maybe an hour and half maximum. With this he calls me a liar whilst he was bragging how he bumped up the price to hit target. At this point I walked away in disbelief. The point of the above statement is for the driver of the Fiat 500 to raise her concern and I am sure she will get a fair refund. Top Tip Ashley Don’t rip people off. Chapter Two. I was an MoT Contractor drafted in to carry out DVSA approved MoT’s On my first day I was approached by Mr Ashley Laker branch manager suggesting that I might do dodgy MoT’s. My stand point on that subject is NO I WILL NOT CARRY OUT BENT MOT’S. As I am the one who will suffer the wrath of DVSA so there fore I will only test to DVSA standards. So with this I thought I had made my point. Weeks go by and a friendly bond was made or so I thought. Now bear in mind I am only human and as such I fell ill one week ( I was very ill ) that week I had conducted sixty-seven in a forty-seven hour week. Now bare in mind that the average MoT takes approximately forty-five minuets to an hour to complete. I was run down and exhausted on top of this I live thirty miles away and had a difficult time driving to and from site. So now we are at a Friday morning I was busy setting up the MoT test equipment for the day and as such I was grumpy not rude just plain old grumpy due to being so ill I should have been at home recovering. And so someone kindly made a complaint with out knowing the full story. This I set aside as it was trivial if a person cant see a man who is clearly unwell what am I supposed to say or do. As time goes by there are two local garages that use Kwik fit Folkestone for trade MoT. Now DVSA have strict standards how ever these two garages don’t seem to grasp this fact. As such were persistent in bringing cars that were not fit for testing and when refused they would get verbally aggressive. As my test standards were now apparent by way of I only test to DVSA standard. This approach had eroded the rapport I had on the Kwik Fit site. Que complaint number two, now this is strange. When I have conducted an MoT and processed the VT20 or VT30 this is left with the sales department. As such I get the next car in and processed for testing. I then find that a customer if any complained that I did not explain the advisories on the test certificate. Bare in mind that time is precious, how ever that being said if I was approached I would have explained the test result when time allowed. As a general rule I do not engage with customers pre or post test I leave that to sales department unless there is a genuine concern. Now complaint number three. This one I believe to be a made up complaint between ( Branch manager ) Mr Ashley Laker and his trade garage friend. As I must have been asleep for this one. It is alleged that I called a customer a C**T. Really Ashley where did I find the time for that. I don’t speak with customers on point unless there is a genuine concern relating to the MoT. I believe that you concocted these allegations in retaliation to my refusal to carry out bent MoT’s and as such this was hurting your pocket for the extra cash you are not getting in your back pocket. As the saying goes I hear nothing but I see everything. And yes I will be posting this to your head office as well as many other review sites as I can possibly find. And inform DVSA that they take special interest.

Needed a rear right brake light fitted for company van. Kwik -fit wanted to charge wanted to charge for complete rear light unit saying it was necessary as there was some water in bottom of light unit. I disagreed saying i can drain the water as the unit is not damaged just the seal had let in some water. They replied it was company policy to replace whole unit. They said they would not replace bulb unless they could change whole unit. After a lot of song and dance and me insisting that i needed brake lights they let me drain the light and they eventually fitted a BULB it worked perfect and still does over a month later. The reason i am posting a bad review is my company has just told me to take the vans spare tyre down to Kwik Fit .I told them it was a spare and had a nail in it hoping they could fix it new or fix i didnt care ,just wanted a tyre fitted they took the wheel and flat ,i gave them my details so they could contact me when it was done. They did contact me the next day to say they cannot fix the tyre or will not until i go back down to garrage and have all my tyres checked by them .HY could they not just ask me when i was there?.Even when i said its just been serviced nope they wanted me to drive down to them . KWiK FiT.Seriously your policies?....

KwikFit Stafford Rd, Wolverhampton. Booked in yesterday due to a knocking underneath my vehicle. Left it for the day to be checked out. Was called at lunchtime that it was good news and just needed 2 bolts tightening and they had already done it. Went to collect my car and was told £20 cash or £60 If paying by card for tightening the 2 bolts! This morning the knocking was worse. My husband called the garage who said there was nothing they could do and go to the dealer! This afternoon whilst driving home from work the drop link stabiliser snapped! Really not happy, how dangerous and how was this not spotted by qualified mechanics when my car was up on the ramp?

TYRE SCAM went to Kwikfit with a punctured tyre. They deliberately botched the repair to get me to buy a new Pirelli at great expense. A second opinion from a local independent garage was obtained. They could see exactly what was done to damage the cord beyond repair. Disgusting behaviour and this could be going on nationwide. Beware. I will never visit Kwikfit again!

Visited Scarborough branch with a slow puncture, after the technician inspected my tyres I was told that I needed 2 new tyres plus a tyre repair, the guy then went on to tell me the tyres had severe cracking on the tyre wall ,and he was amazed I had made it to the garage. My car had a fairly recent mot and I had checked the tyre treads ( minimum 4 mm ) so I was surprised by this, I asked him to just do the puncture repair and I would sort the 2 rear tyres later, he wasn’t happy with this and said he would have to report this to his head office. I definitely felt under pressure to get the new tyres but decided to get a second opinion as I couldn’t see the cracks he was pointing out. A few days later I went to my local National tyre services and ( after explaining what had happened ) their technician said that there was some scuffs and marks on the sidewalls but this was normal for a used tyre and was perfectly safe to use. I can only conclude that Kwik fit where trying to generate more income at my expense .

Stay clear went to Kingsbury branch for a flat tyre . They are the worst garage . It's a badly run business . More like a bad sweet shop . In fact a sweet shop would provide a better service re fixing a tyre . Avoid they are absolute Rubbish .

We booked twice here and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone that do not want waste their time. First time we booked to do our MOT, we booked our appointment one month in advance to make sure everything was right. the appointment was cancelled the day before by saying that there wasn’t enough staff to complete the work. They gave us an alternative date (during the week instead of the Saturday) and we had to accept because little choices left. After the MOT was completed we booked an appointment 2 months in advance to fix the little things advised during the MOT. Well again, appointment cancelled. Somebody contacted my husband yesterday but he couldn’t answer because at work. Today, on the day of the appointment my husband called just before leaving to check everything was ok. The receptionist said that the appointment was cancelled for “technical issue”. Simply they don’t have respect to customers. Avoid.

Buy 4 tires through your website and at the same time request the free visual inspection of brakes. That was not done by the way, and that on their website they offer so much. If you are not going to do it, do not put it, it is the most logical thing to do. When the day came, they installed only 3 wheels because they could not install the 4th one because it is stuck to the hub and it needs to be cleaned before installation because they cannot remove the rim. Recommending that you go to another workshop to do the cleaning, remove the tire and come back. Surprise 20 minutes of driving I find a workshop and in this one they can remove and put a new wheel. I have contacted customer service, his response is "they have already invoiced the 4 wheels and the installation and there is no refund. Congratulations Kwifit, even on the invoice it details that they have not been able to mount the wheel. And in the face of the evidence they still continue to deny the return.

I have a Lex Autolease vehicle so I have to use Kwik Fit as part of the agreement. I arrived at the Trowbridge Branch on Wednesday and the reception I received from the fitter was poor ! I asked if he could look at the condition of the tyres and advise whether I needed any replacements & air in them as the warning light had come on. His attitude was poor and he was a very sullen individual flatly refusing to do anything for me and merely suggesting I visit Chippenham, Devizes or Bath. I have contacted Autolease about this Branch and this individual and brought it to their attention. I also visited the Bath KWIK Fit Branch in Bath yesterday who also could not be bothered to assist me until at least Saturday afternoon. Toi be honest shocking branches, people and service - steer clear with a very large barge pole !!

Hi, I'm writing this complaint to express my massive disappointment with the service I experienced today. I arrived promptly for my 12pm tyre fitting. I was initially unhappy with being told to wait 1hr to 1.5hrs for the changing of 4 tyres. I thought, ok, it's Sunday, they must be short staffed. The technician informed me my tracking was off as there was some uneven wear. I declined to take the service and felt like I was laughed at for my decision. The process of changing the tyres started over an hour later. I then decided to have the tracking completed. The technician started my car and to my annoyance revved my car unnecessarily loudly several times. This happened when moving from the tyre fitting bay to the wheel alignment bay. I told the technician to not do that in a very polite manner as the engine was cold and when the oil is cold the engine can be damaged. Another technician told me the price was £65 via card and £40 cash. I was put in a very awkward position as I knew the cash would be pocketed to keep it " off the books" no doubt. Stupidly I agreed, and withdrew £40 for a local ATM. When the alignment process started my car was revved again. To avoid confrontation I said nothing bit was very upset. The alignment was completed and was told the front alignment was fine but the rear was off slightly. I was then told to fix the rear would be an "additional charge". Having lost total faith in the service at this stage I declined. I went back to the office. When my car was being reversed out, for the third time it was revved loudly and the car wheel spun in reverse. By this stage I just wanted to leave. I told the technician at the desk checking me out the the alignment was fine despite his original advice and he said he had saved me money, only by me not paying him directly had I saved money. Had I not questioned this I would have been robbed of £40. 2.5hrs later I left. I'm beyond disappointed and disgusted either the quality if work, abuse of my car and "cash in hand" tactics I have to endure. If this isn't the channel to make an official complaint, please can you point me to the direction of where this can be made? It's just not good enough and I'm so upset by the whole customer experience. I'm inclined to never use your firm again and tell all my colleagues and friends the same. I expect a chapter and verse reply to my emailed. Mr Degreg

DREADFUL customer service I can not believe how disorganised this company is! I have a slow puncture. i booked to get it fixed. booked it for 1030, easy enough. Turn up to the garage only to be told that they had double booked and there was nothing they could do - sending me away to drive on my flat tyre. They do not care about their customers and did absolutely nothing to even help resolve the issue.

My fiancé took my car in for an alignment check 14 days ago. It was off so he agreed for them to fix it. Today I failed my MOT due to both front track rod ends and ball joints being extremely loose with excessive play. The alignment had never been done which has caused the ball joints to be damaged. There was a slight vibration in the front end on the drivers side, that was the whole reason for the alignment. The so called “well trained staff” should have never left them loose. They told my fiancé to get new rotators and brake pads to fix the issue. Both of which are only about 6 months old. Kwik fit gave him the “Yankee Treatment” since he is an American. Which means they did nothing and still charged him. Sure enough the ball joints were replaced and tracking rods tightened and the vibration is gone. Everyone who worked in the garage where I had my MOT confirmed the alignment had never been done. I do not recommend Kwik fit. In fact, avoid them at any cost!

Went to the Tynemouth branch in Tyne & Wear for four tyres which they fitted and then told me they couldn't align the wheels for another 2/3 weeks as they didn't have time. They didn't tell me that before they fit the tyres. having paid £623:16p. Stay clear of this place. They got one star and aren't worth that. They made me see red and not stars.

I went to Kwik Fit Heanor Saturday for an oil change. Prepaid a day before. Arrived at 5min before booking time, 3h later they haven't looked at the car yet, 4h after arrival they gave the car back with more errors and warnigs than it came. Asked them to sort the "oil pressure low - stop safely" red warning they created in shop, they refused. I insisted and told them they fitted a part incorrectly and need to check. Service kid said "...but redlight is still on" tiller replied shouting his lungs out "I don't give a f... just send them away". I insisted still he refused to check their work. Next week I called KF in Lichfield where I was, told them the oil filter was the issue they refused to see me - "go back where you came from and sort it there, we're fully booked". Called Slowgit Heanor, told them the diagnosys, asked them to correct it he insisted it's not their and I need to do a service instead. Finally, I went to a 3rd party and determined Slowgit has fitted the oil filter incorrectly (forced it in, broke it/bent it so contact was imperfect). They knowingly endangered my and my kid's life because they could not be bothered to get another 10 pound oil filter they damaged during fitting. After 6 hours in shop for an oil change and a life threatening experience I got the money back, no apology.

We booked an MOT for 10 days before expiry. The day before, Kwikfit phoned to say they had to cancel. The next available date was 2 days after expiry of the MOT. We couldn't find another convenient MOT station and so confirmed the new booking with Kwikfit with the understanding that we would not be able to use the vehicle for two days because the MOT was expired. The evening before the date of the second booking, we again received a phone call from Kwikfit cancelling the booking. The next availability was then another 8 days away!!! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
