Being my local airport I use it frequently. In recent times departures has improved a little, though there is now a new parking scam which I'll come to. Also I cannot forgive or forget what happened a few years ago at security. It was chaotic. Security staff do have a difficult job but they are rude and obnoxious. I was searched which i don't mind, but would like to be spoken to like another human being. Another security officer had a metal box which hit my ankle. When I flinched the securit officer who was searching me had a go at me. When I later complained about my treatment they threatened to sue me, giving me the name of the solicitor to contact! They acknowledged they 'brushed' against me, but never thought to apologise. More recently, a month ago I went to pick up my daughter from the airport availing of the free parking in the long term car park. I'd waited until my daughter touched down before entering the car park. At arrivals I waited and waited. My daughter texted to say they lost her suitcase and half the other passengers' cases. Eventually she appeared an hour after I got there with suitcase in hand. They had found the cases! When I left the car park it said there was a £4 charge. I rang the intercom. They said it was now only free for an hour. This added insult to injury. So today we took my daughter back, once again using the long term parking. The driver pulled into the car hire place, probably to use the toilet facilities. Of course he's entitled to use these, but we realised our time was ebbing away. Once my daughter checked in and we returned, we literally got out with a few seconds to spare, before going into the second hour. The potential 15 minute journey each way and gap between buses makes the free period a joke if not misleading. At Heathrow you can still park free for 2 hours with about the same journey time for buses. At Stansted the mid term parking is free for an hour, but it's much closer to the terminal and if you do run into the second hour the charge is only £2. This is not unreasonable. They are apparently considering upping the 2nd Hour at Luton to £5. Luton is my local airport, but there isn't much to like about it apart from its proximity. They are making a few cosmetic changes, but behind the scenes many things are the same including the departure gates and immigration for arrivals which seems like a free for all. The 'disappearance' of the luggage on my daughter's flight for at least 30 minutes doesn't fill me with confidence. I can't say it is the worst airport, but it's not good.

I had to drop off my partner for an early morning flight. The design of the new drop off zone and short term car park is seriously flawed. It took about 25 minutes to get from the mid term car park point to the drop off zone because of the queue of cars trying to get in. Once there, there was plenty of places to stop so the queue is the result of having only a one lane approach. Clearly needs a rethink. Then I had to queue to pay to leave the drop off zone. That could have pushed me over the 10 minute limit - would I have to pay because of the queue. And worse still, this queue blocked the entrance to the multi-storey car park. Again, this clearly needs a rethink. Access from the short term car park to the terminal requires going up and down in lifts or the stairs. The whole design of the area is appalling and needs to be re-thought and re-worked.

Parking was no problem at the Short Stay Car park, but it is chaotic and unpleasant because of the on-going building work, poor road conditions and unprofessional car park staff. As we were walking away from our car we got almost run down by a car and got covered in muddy water as the car speeded by. As they parked up I complained to the man. I was not sure if he is part of the airport "meet & greet" service but he appeared not to understand English and immediately got the car park official to come over. We are still uncertain why but he started shouting, first at the man then at me. He never asked what my complaint or enquiry was, just kept shouting. I could not understand what he was shouting about. When I interrupted him to state what the issue was, he became very aggressive. My son got so scarred that he run to my friend. My husband was trying to help but it was clear that the man could not hear us because of his blind rage. I have never experienced such aggressive and abusive behaviour from an official representing a company. It was shocking and unacceptable by all standards.

TIP: use the LONGTERM carpark, for goodness sake... upto 1h: FREE / upto 2h: £1. (and use your common-sense by NOT staying over 2h, otherwise you'll pay the full day rate of £21.) It takes all of 10mins to/from terminal by fairly frequent free shuttle buses (though always leave extra time, in case of unexpected delays!). They do not want you to use the overcrowded SHORT and MID term carparks, hence why they have priced them accordingly, as discouragement. (incidentally, at time of writing, Stansted offer the same price, but at their *MID term* carpark!) Learn the new airport parking systems (most drop-off is charged now), ALWAYS give yourself extra time, then you'll not have the pain of paying through the nose.

Luton Airport is just another airpot that grabs money from captive customers. The roads are blocked with traffic because of the stupid roadlayouts. There is no where to drop off or pick up for free! ITS A DISGRACE !!! Even if you park off airport the pick up point have bus shelters that are so small only about 6 people can take shelter!!

I travel from Luton for holidays at least twice a year and the walk from the parking set down to the Departures terminal is far too far - it can rain and one gets soaking wet walking to the Terminal and that's before one sits in aeroplane for hours+ to destination abroad. With all the things going on at Luton for goodness sake get somewhere near yes near the terminal for us coming along with cases and paying for a trolley, which at £2 is a rip off as is the car parking/drop off fee being £2.50. Stop taking our money and improve the Depature points. Very disgruntled persons. BEDFORDSHIRE.

We used the mid stay parking at Luton and it was an awful experience. There is no guidance as to where the free spaces are (unlike Stansted which has an organised system). We drove around in circles looking for a space. Eventually we tracked a couple with their suitcase who had got off a bus and stalked them to their car. From my perspective there were too many cars allocated tickets for the number of spaces available.

We recently parked in the mid-term car park, which is in very poor condition - rough surfaces and potholes prevail, and there were no marked bays in the section we used (near bus stop A). The bus stops are small with a very limited covered area, but on the plus side the bus transfers are frequent and it is only a short distance to the terminal. We have also used the short-term car park which in terms of potholes is equally as bad if not worse!

We chose the mid-stay because we were having a night at the Holiday Inn before we flew. It amazes me why there is no pedestrian access from the mid stay car park to the access road!!!! We had to get a bus from the car park to the terminal and then back to the hotel when I could have thrown a stone from the car to the hotel.... ;-/ Also, the bays at the terminal are too close together and they dont allow you much space to get ppl off the bus and then to allow ppl on. Its a bit cramped - take a look at how its done at Stansted, more space and you are not penned in as you are in Luton.

Better signage for the Blue Badge parking area is required. We had trouble getting onto the bus to & from the terminal as they were extremely busy, some sort of marshalling system would prevent the chaos we were presented with when attempting to return to the car park. What is the point of sending a full bus to the Blue Badge bus stop when clearly people with mobility problems cannot access the bus?!

I didn't have a chance to use the car park yet, because there is a week until I will travel to Luton, but I already have negative feelings about it. I initially booked 4 days, and I would like to add one more day, but this was not possible because I bought something which can't be modified. I would expect more flexibility from the parking company and to be focusing on the needs of the costumers instead of following strict rules. Now I only can hope that at least I will have the car in one peace when I return, I don't really want to rely on the helpfulness of the staff.

Long stay car park - Difficult to find a parking space, long wait for bus, crowded bus. On exit it failed to recognise that I had pre-paid and tried to charge me over £150.

Waited 30mins in the wind and rain for the bus. Poorly designed shelter,; wind whistled through and it leaked, covering the seating in water. Next time, will get a lift or public transport

Very poor signage to get to the long-term car-park (found afterwards that at least one sign had been turned round and was facing the wrong way!) Drove around for 15 minutes before i could find a space in the long-term car park. When i returned to the airport after my holiday, I waited 25 minutes for a bus to take me back to the car-park - and when it came it was so crowded that it felt quite unsafe.

I paid in advance but on leaving the car park I was asked for £93 as an under payment. This was cleared up after speaking to an attendant but slowed my departure down.

You charge more for the 'convenience' of short term parking. This car park like some of the others at Luton is tarmacked - just rough ground! Then just pray that it is not raining!! Pay less and you get bussed to the doors - pay more for the short term and 'short' walk - but they neglect to mention that it is totally uncovered for all but the last 50 yards!! It's 2015 - there are lightweight structures that could be put in for passenger comfort - oh no, sorry, forgot, this is Luton, that's not a concern!! Let's charge people to drop off at the terminal, let's charge a non-refundable fee for trolleys, let the 'business/short term' parkers get muddy and wet ..............

Exit barrier said we needed to pay £136, despite having prepaid. Had to call for help, with tired children from traveling could have done without extra hassle
