I used this service because they advertise "eco-friendly", "responsible" disposal of items, etc., assuming they would take my queen box spring to a recycling center (since donations are on hold due to COVID). When I asked the very kind driver where he was going to take it, he said "to the dump" (note: I live in Virginia). I could have done that myself and saved the $75. Driver was on time, courteous, etc. If you don't care about where your unwanted items go, the service is fine.

I was a little disappointed with this service. I made a request online and had everything ready for the time frame of 8am-noon. Noon came and went and no phone call that they were on their way. Finally sometime that afternoon I was mad enough so I called, got a voicemail recording. They called back about 10 minutes later and stated they would get ahold of the local dispatch. No more commincation after that. They showed up to pick up the couch with no notice they were coming. Its a good thing I had dragged it outside already or I would have had to reschedule since I was leaving for the evening. Overall very poor communication and not worth what it cost.

Poor communication from the associates. Pickup time was missed and if the associates had just agreeded to give me the phone number for the driver it would have saved me time and headaches.

My "poor" rating is based on my experience with Mattress Disposal's pick up scheduling. No one showed up to the first 4 hour window I requested and when I called I was told initially that their driver was very delayed. I got a call an hour later saying that due to a personal emergency the driver wouldn't be able to make it all. Understandable, things happen. However, I requested a new pick up date, was told that they would have to call me back to confirm after they'd spoken to their dispatch team. I never heard back, and when I called to confirm I was given a new, entirely different, pick up time and date. Ultimately, third time was a charm and their drivers showed up, communicated their arrival time very well, and were very polite. So all in all, it could have been a better experience without the scheduling hiccups.

My pickup was scheduled to arrive between 8am-12pm yet it arrived at approximately 12:30pm. The helper wasn’t able to assist the driver with moving the furniture so I had to help the driver move the furniture out of my own place. Since the arrival was late and I had to assist in the moving of the furniture, I rate this as poor.

Pickup time was scheduled from 11-4pm...they did not arrive until 6pm.

I do apologize for any delay you may have encountered during your pickup. Unfortunately there are unknown factors such as traffic and weather that can adversely impact a scheduled pickup. One worker showed up to take the belongings. He was two hours late (of the 4 hour window) because he had troubles with his truck.... I helped take the large belongings down the steps. The gentleman was sincere and worked hard. But he had delays and truck failure earlier in the day. One man showed up to move a large mattress, plus the additional dresser that I pair for in advance..... I helped the service man move the furniture, so he would not hurt himself.

I never got a call or text message that someone was on the way. Two men showed up unannounced at the house in a pick up truck. They didn't have uniforms or company ID. When I asked them about recycling the mattress they just looked at me and said they don't recycle them. They get paid $50 to pick it up and dispose of it. You got paid $95 for a mattress pick up and what I thought was recycling. It looks like you got paid $45 to call a man with a pick up truck and I got had. Word of mouth is good advertising.

We do our best to provide eco-friendly removal for all of our customers. Although recycling is an option, we utilize other eco-friendly means too, such as donation and repurposing the material. On occasion, other options are not available and we do have to dispose of the item in a less ideal way. This is only used as a last resort when all other options have been exhausted. Setting up the pickup was easy, but pickup day was a disaster. The pickup came 3 hours after the 4-hour window I had been given was already over and no one ever called to tell me it was going to be late. Even when I called them, I was told the pickup would come in 45 minutes, but in reality, it was another hour and a half after that. Better to be upfront and keep customers informed of delays than let us guess.

While it was easy to set up the pickup online, the actual pickup was a disaster. I scheduled several days in advance for pickup from 8-12. At 12:30, I found a number and called. They use another company (LoadUp) who apparently contracts with yet another company for pickup. I quickly received a call from them. Joe Stephenson was very nice and helpful. He called all his crews trying to find someone available, because "my" crew was delayed in Fayetteville. I had to be out for the afternoon, and told him I would be home from 5-7:30. He assured me someone would call when they were on the way and would be there to pick up during that time. At 4:40, I received a call that someone was in front of my house ready to pick up. I rushed home and arrived 10 minutes later. The pickup crew was extremely rude and acted like it was all my fault they had to drive from Fayetteville to pick up my items. When I mentioned that I had told Joe I would be available after 5, he said "that's not how this works." And informed me that he only waits 30 minutes then he would have left. When I told him they were supposed to be there between 8 and 12 and no one showed up or called, and that I was told they were delayed in Fayetteville, he said Fayetteville is his usual territory and they don't even come to Charlotte. When he finally figured out that I had scheduled several days in advance for that morning, he was a little nicer. But they left my front door wide open the entire time they were retrieving my items from the third floor, so I ended up with flies and even a cricket in my house. I get that they were hot and tired and frustrated. But none of this was my fault and I didn't like being treated like it was. And since it was an Ashley Furniture pickup service, I wonder if Mattress Disposal even got my mattress and box spring and will be able to recycle it.

Mattress Disposal Plus is powered by LoadUp, which is why you received the LoadUp confirmation. We do however use independently contracted drivers to complete our service nationwide. We pride ourselves on offering excellent service and having top-notch drivers. We clearly missed the mark here. I understand that things happen and pick up times need to change. But calling some one less than 5 mins before the pick up window starts to say that they are unable is not okay. Also, telling the customer that if they don't reschedule within the times the company can pick up they will only give a partial refund is not okay. Telling the customer that the pick up will be the next morning first thing and then finding that the mattress that was suppose to be picked up inside, that you have moved outside because you would not be home was still there at noon when you arrived back home is not okay. Having to call and find out if the pick up was going to happen only to find that the person picking up was not told the mattress was now be outside and that they would not get an answer on the home phone because no one was home is not okay. The only reason I didn't give a very poor is because 1) I understand after the agent explained there was only one driver that it wasn't their fault if life happened and they needed to reschedule-it's the company's fault for not having the manpower and 2) the agent I spoke to on that Saturday afternoon was nice and tried really hard to make things right. But, the "discount" that was given was the discount I would have received had I made the order for outside delivery so y'all have some work to do on getting this right. I only made the order because the mattress would be recycled. I could have just taken it to the curb and sent it to the landfill for free!!!

The pick up window was scheduled from 1-4, they arrived at 5. The phone operator was rude when I called to check on their eta. The driver had the wrong address, if I had not been waiting outside, they would have gone to the wrong house. The men who picked up my mattress barely spoke to me at all and just complained about their jobs!

The guys did remove the couch and mattress, but didn't seem concerned with being careful. We were left with a large chip out of the wooden back stairs and the top part of the outside door frame knocked off. They didn't say anything about either.

I scheduled a pick up online and received a call later that night that the day had to change. I asked why I was able to schedule it in the first place/why it was available to choose online and the representative said it was a glitch in their system. Not the most efficient scheduling process. I secured a paper note on my two mattresses to alert the driver and my neighbors that they were for Mattress Disposal Plus. I wasn't thrilled to see the driver simply took the paper and threw it on the ground... Right next to my garbage can. Odd to see it was just left as litter on my yard.

I have passed this information along to our development team so they can look into this issue and hopefully correct the problem. Leaving the paper that was left for the driver's convenience is unacceptable and I want to sincerely thank you for letting us know this occurred. The price was right and the workers were fast but I was given the 8am-noon window and they arrived a little before 5pm. I spent the whole day waiting. I’d call that poor service.

You were very communicative on pickup times, easy to get ahold of even after I missed my original pickup time, the problem was how the pickup was handled. You picked up the 1700 mattress but when the free pillows weren’t there things changed. Long story short, you made my wife feel like if she couldn’t produce the pillows you weren’t leaving. I then had to speak to 3 different people just to okay so you would leave. I’d rather be charged for them than to feel intimidated into producing them

I want to sincerely apologize for the manner in which your pickup was handled. When we do a return, we do have to make sure we are picking up everything that the scheduling company has booked with us, or seek approval from them to take/not take certain pieces. There is obviously a tactful way to do this and we did not handle this well. I want to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience so we can work as a team to better train our people to handle these situations in a way that does not make the customer feel uncomfortable. We are not able to grow and improve without customers like you taking the time to let us know how we are doing.

I selected pick up between 8am-12pm as I didn't want furniture sitting by my curb all day on the busy street I live on. At 1:00pm I called as we hadn't had the pickup. The disbatcher said the driver had a delay but we were next on the list. Fast forward two more calls and 3 more hours, a driver in an unmarked pickup truck came by himself at 4:30pm. Unloaded what looked like personal belongings out of the bed of the truck and then loaded up our stuff. When I contacted customer service, they credited me $5 - explaining that the all day pickup option gave a $5 discount. Pretty sure the all day option isn't what I chose, for a reason. Pretty disappointing for $115 after the credit...I tried to give them an opportunity to make it right and they failed.

My question...did my mattresses go to recycle. Contractor picked them up,very nice, but it seemed unrelated to the recycle video I saw internet
