Sent a perfectly functioning iPhone 11 and they reduced their initial offer from £325 to £125 because of a faulty screen. The phone was checked by me and the screen was absolutely fine. I asked for photos of the alleged fault and have never received them. I’ve just rejected the offer because I know full well the phone was fine and packaged well enough so as to not be damaged in transit. Not happy with their service so far and now awaiting them sending me my phone back.

Good afternoon Nick, Thank you for the review, I am sorry to hear you are not happy with the amended offer. Unfortunately, our technicians confirmed a defective screen due to white mark(s) in the display which is usually only visible on a white background. As the pixels have turned white, the LCD will need replacing which is why you price has been amended. This is caused with age and use and due to the cost of a LCD replacement we were unable to offer you the original valuation price. The retentions team got in contact and offered you the increased offer, which you accepted which is why you were paid and sent the recycling gift, If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com Kind regards Mazuma

Good morning, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the decision made regarding your device Screen burn appears within the LCD/OLED layer of the device (this is the pixel layer underneath the glass on the front). This can come in two different forms an imprint or a glow. The most common imprint we tend to see if of the keyboard as this is the most commonly function used on a mobile phone. It can also come in the form of a red glow which appears around the edges of the screen. Screen burn is where the pixels create a ghost like imprint that remains even after the on-screen content has changed or moved. This is mainly visible against a white background. This can present itself in 3 different levels. If you have purchased your device within the past 24 months, you can actually send the device to Samsung to have it repaired under a warranty because of the screen burn as they are aware of how common the defect is within their devices. You can also check for this yourself by dialling *#0*# on the keypad and checking it against the blue and white background. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact a member of our customer service team on 0345 872 3000 or alternatively you can email customerservices@mazumamobile.com Kind regards Mazuma

Do not use! Sent my phone off , they originally offered £50. I thought it sounded too good to be true. When they received the phone said that it was faulty and offered me £5 , i had a feeling they were going to do this. The phone was in full working condition when sent, would not recommended.

I am disgusted and will never use or recommend mazuma to anyone. I sent in a perfect condition iPad, they said it was bent. The iPad was only ever used in the house in a cover. It was never bent when this was sent in, I also packed it in cardboard and bubble wrap so I know it wouldn’t have got damaged in transport. It would have taken some force to bend the iPad the way it came back to me. They offered me £30 which they increased to£40 with a £50 accessory package. I will never use them again

Good morning Annaj, Thank you for the review. We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the decision made regarding your device. Every device that we receive is thoroughly checked by our technicians, if it doesn't meet our grading criteria the price, we offer you a lower price. I can see your device was found to have a bend within the chassis, this means that the housing is slightly bent and therefore we would be unable to offer you the full amount for this. Have used Mazuma before, but never again. My iPhone 11 Pro max was perfect, however they said there were black dots within the camera lens - if there were any they were microscopic as you couldn't see them on a white background (the white background was a piece of electrical trunking on someone's desk so there could be all sorts of things on it). On asking for evidence of this I was sent a video of someone else's phone! It seems they have microscopic dots in their camera lens too. VERY UNHAPPY, has taken a week for them to make decisions - all they seem interested in is trying get into a bartering situation by offering a low price in the hope you will just agree. Not for me.

Good morning Serena, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the decision made regarding your device. Every device that we receive is thoroughly checked by our technicians, if it doesn't meet our grading criteria the price, we offer you a lower price. Unfortunately, your device was found to have a faulty camera due to black marks within the camera lens. I have used this company few years ago a few times and they were great so when I decided to sell my Huawei pro 20 phone I sent to them as they initially offered £45 for it if all working ok with no damage . My phone has been in a case for two years and works perfectly with no damage at all see pics . I even sent it in the original box too . A few days after receiving it they email to say glass is damaged on the back so they can offer me £10 and pay right now or return it . I know phone is in excellent working order and no damage to glass or any of phone so I press return to me . A few days later I get a text saying my phone has now had further investigation and they can pay £15 now plus send me £30 travel accessories or return my phone . Again I say return phone and call them too to say this all seems weird to me as nothing wrong with phone and it’s like they are negotiating on what they can get for a cheap price . I want my phone returned and in the original box I sent it in . She said they cannot do that as phones get separated from the packaging . I say that they only sent to me a thin bag to send them my phone so I had to put it in original box to send to them to make sure phone was protected . I have got my phone back today in their cheap cardboard thin packaging not huawei box I sent it in . This means I don’t have that in order to sell to someone else .

Was given a quote for my phone (which was in excellent condition) but when mazuma received it, suddenly the quote went from £25 to £5. I declined, they upped it to an offer of £10 and a travel bag (even though it is illegal to travel due to covid!). I declined their rubbish offer and sold it on ebay for £35. The offers are clearly a ruse to get you to send your mobile in, they clearly have no intention of honouring their offers. Avoid!!

Good morning Anicca, Thank you for your review, We are sorry to hear of your experience, All devices are thoroughly checked by each technician. Any screen defect must be noted prior to sending, this can be from screen burn, white marks in the display, yellow halo, or pink marks, this is the same for cracks, chips, cracked housing etc. This is why we have a grading process in place. If your device does not match the grade you initially selected, then we will amend your order to reflect the correct grading. A photo can be requested at problem order stage by emailing us your request. A Photo would have been taken for you and emailed once it was available. Sent the an iPhone X in really good condition - having replaced the screen a month earlier - and with no scratches or functional issues at all having lived inside a protective case it’s whole life. Was quoted £215, and once it had arrived was told there were ‘led issues’(?) with the screen so they’d pay £70. I cancelled, got it returned, and sent it to musicMagpiestore who gave me £200 for it no questions asked. Clearly mazuma are exploiting the situation without being able to trade in at other places, so please go elsewhere.

Sent my phone in as a trade in as they offered the best price on the market. The phone was in perfect condition as it had been in a case with a screen protector on all its life. Received an email after they had received it stating there was a problem with the phone and it was damaged. They then offered me a stupidly low price for the phone. Safe to say I rejected the offer and asked my phone back. Interested to see not only myself who has experienced this. I won't be using this company again, nor recommending them.

Good morning Philip, We are sorry to hear of your experience with us, I can see your device was found to have yellow halo within the LCD layer. This is where the pixels die within the LCD and turn yellow. This is usually found around the edge of the LCD screen where the battery and time stamp is. This manufacturing defect is common in a lot of the older models such as the 4's, 5's, 6's 7's and some of the older iPads such as the Minis, 2's, 3's and some of the Airs. Based on this we had to amend the offer as it did not match the grade you initially selected. All quotes given are subject to testing, Please allow 3-5 working days for dispatch, we will notify you via email once the item has been dispatched. I was offered half the value of my iphone X because of a 'black dot' on the lens, even though I have had the phone for over a year and not noticed any photo issues whatsoever. Subsequent to mentioning this in a fb review, I was contacted by other people who were also paid significantly less for the same issue. Customer services tell me its a very common issue they find that results in many phones resulting in them paying out about half. If you are looking to sell your phone you should consider this because theres a good chance you will get half the advertised amount. They also don't keep any proof of this issue, you have to take them at their word

I sent my 11 month old Apple iphone 11 in which was in absolutely pristine condition, was quoted £340 for it. It was securely collected by DPD and after three days of trying to get an update was told that there was a black mark in the camera and the revised offer was £105. I asked for photo evidence of this mark and was told that as I had rejected the offer the photo couldn’t be sent. Also had my email address wrong, so I had no updates, which is helpful. Apparently a known fault with Apple iphones – not anywhere I can find! Although this does appear in Mazuma reviews constantly –and this absolutely screams of Mazuma trying to get premium phones for minimum price. A reduction of £235 for a “mark” which is not evident on any light coloured pictures I’ve taken! God knows what condition the phone will come back in. Would absolutely not recommend.
