“I am enjoying the whole experience from choosing the meals to receiving the box to cooking. It makes our life a lot easier knowing what to make for the family, so there's no hassle, plus there is always a lot left over the next day.”

“Love this option for our whanau. We order 3 meals a week for 6 people and the options are great meal size are great. Kids are enjoying it as well and recipes easy to follow.”

“Generally I think it’s a good service and good variety of recipes but find it’s a regular occurrence for multiple items to be missing from the box, the wrong recipe cards provided or breakages and spills of the items within the box creating a mess. Customer support provide minor credit to recompense but given the high cost of the service I often don’t feel it covers the cost of the inconvenience caused which is what you pay for.”

“much better than I had expected, having had a couple of bad experiences with Hello Fresh in the last couple of years this is a good, cheap option - and with fish dishes. Love it.”

“The recipes are easy to use and are lovely and tasty, ingredients mainly super fresh, although sometimes the salad greens are looking like they need using immediately. My main concern is the plastic packaging involved. I have a lot of guilt about using this product when it creates additional packaging of very small items.”

“Really enjoying fresh start for our family. It helps take the stress out of shopping and meal planning, especially with the price of vegetables at the supermarket. Customer service is also really prompt and helpful when anything isn't quite up to standard too, which is great.”

“As a large extended family we order for six people for five nights. We love the varied meals that we would not otherwise cook ourselves, the fresh vegetables, the nutritious value of each meal, the service from delivery to call centre, it is wonderful value for money- we love bargain box! We so appreciate the operational level of getting all the ingredients in each box from the super wonderful free range meat to the tiniest packet of spice that just takes the meal to another level. We say in our household now that every night there is a delicious meal for everyone no exceptions and no complaining if it’s not your favourite meal- you have had on offer a delicious nutritious fresh meal and the servings are so generous there is always something left over for lunches”

“Plant Power!! Proving very successful, eating alot more variety and even the carnivore in the family is enjoying meat free options. Plenty of food too, have leftover meals and leftover ingredients for use in other meals we have. Big variety on menu and only a couple of meh meals. Well done My Food Bag, would highly recommend.”

“I like my food bag but the last few have had things missing this last one was Chkn recipe l had too look up on the net and they pack rice and dry with wet begs”

“We are enjoying My Food Bag after a long stint with Hello Fresh. Love that the ingredients are locally sourced. Only thing stopping my review from a 5 star is the short timeframe tin which the meat has to be eaten, We get our delivery on a Sunday and they meals have to be eaten by Wednesday.”

Hey Lyree, thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear you're enjoying My Food Bag and appreciate the locally sourced ingredients. We can completely understand your concerns in regard to the expiry date. The reason the meat and fish have slightly shorter expiry dates is because they are vacuum sealed without any added preservatives, before being packed into your delivery each week. For meals destined for later in the week, i.e. Thursday or Friday, pop the meat in the freezer upon receiving your delivery, then get it out the morning prior to eating.
