“I started My Food Bag a while ago and am loving it! Great, easy to make, healthy meals. I’m becoming a better cook as well which is an added bonus :) I really enjoy the variety and not having to think about what I’m making. From a My Food Bag convert.”

“I was hesitant to try My Food Bag to start off with as I figured it would be cheaper to shop myself but a discount code (and a few extra kgs) was enough to give The ‘Fresh Start’ bag a go. We haven’t looked back. It provides interesting and yummy recipes that we would have never considered before and really expanded our views on different types of foods available. Getting the exact portion more or less is handy too so there isn’t much wastage which would naturally happen when we shopped ourselves. The flexibility is key for us as we work variable hours so when we have a few nights missed of the bag we can just jump on and skip the next week so we don’t end up with too much. Only downside for me is at the time of writing this the Fresh Start isn’t changeable and as I don’t eat seafood it means one of the five meals I skip the fish/prawns but I still eat the rest... basically just a vegetarian for a night! In terms of assisting weight loss we have found that using the Fresh Start bag combined of course with self restraint, has given us a gradual weight loss whilst not leaving us hungry/hangry. If you haven’t tried it, do. It takes the guess work out of “what’s for dinner” and is easy peasy. My partner now thinks he’s such a whizz in the kitchen I don’t have to cook as much!”

“I just love the fact that for 5 nights a week I’m getting a healthy low cal meal and I don’t have to think about what I need to cook. The communication is fantastic, meals are superb, delivery is precise and I wish I had done this years ago..... plus I’ve lost 13.6kgs in the process .... yay”

“We get the gluten free box and it’s so convenient for us! We both finish work late and lose motivation to cook yummy food so this is perfect for us. We get new meals for the work week, they’re delicious, easy to follow and We think it’s great value for what you get (as it is enough for our dinner and lunch the next day).”

“I can hand on heart say that MFB has made it possible for us to move to a plant based diet effortlessly. Opening our eyes to what we can add to our diet rather than yearning for the old items we are leaving out. We also appreciate the time we get back by no longer having to search the web for nutritionally balanced meals and trawling up and down the aisles in the supermarket - MFB does all the hard work for you!”

“My Food Bag has delivered on the promise of providing fresh, seasonal food which is easy to prep and fun to cook. During this lockdown we have loved having regular deliveries of goodness to our front door. My daughter loves to cook with me, so it has been amazing whanau time as well. My Food Bag makes dinner a time to unwind and relax together...most important!”

“We've really valued the ease and nutrition of MY Food Bag in two situations in the last 18 months, firstly during a period of cancer treatment for my husband and secondly during COVID 19 lockdown. In both cases having a box of food and recipes delivered weekly to the doorstep greatly reduced my personal stress in needing to provide nutritious and varied meals to our family of 4. Both my children (aged 12 and 6yrs) have taken on a cooking night each which has been a real joy in times of increased anxiety for us all. The only change I would like to see is less meat based in the family and classic meals. Our ideal would be a week of meals that had: 1 fish, 1 chicken, 1 vegetarian, 1 beef and 1 other (bacon, lamb, schnitzel, etc). Huge thanks for you My Food Box -I've recently recommended your service to my Mum and now she has joined up too. Emily (Nelson)”

“Found the meals varied and fresh. Very good ingredients Found that the meals are a bit spicy for us so we will try out the gourmet meals to compare. Had only one missing item which was in our second food bag in 2019 and apart from two broken items in this weeks delivery 26 April (outside box was not damaged) we wish to continue for the moment”

“At the start of the year I said to hubby who is retired I thought he could take more responsibility for the evening meals. Lots Of grumbling but I wasn’t going to back down so I said it’s summer why don’t we try Nadias BBQ bag , as we only really bbq in summer it was a good way in We are very familiar wit My Food Bag as our son has been a client since day 1.We were over awed by the quality and amount of meat and have never looked back especially now during the lockdown and being over 70 we are really handicapped so really appreciate this wonderful service PS we have lost weight and saved money.....bonus Kind regards Piet and Carol Venter”

“Over the last few weeks we have had some meals which were not up to my liking. The frozen bags of corn have come thawed so we did not use them. I like the idea where you can pick and choose meals with Hello Fresh so I am trying them to see how the meals are.”

With an active subscription you are able to preview the menu for up to two weeks in advance, so you can choose the menu for the bag that best suits you. We do expect the corn to defrost on it's way to you, it is totally fine to be popped straight into the fridge or freezer until needed. We'd also really encourage you to rate your recipes with what you did and did not enjoy as this feedback goes directly to our chefs and helps them to plan upcoming menus!
