“Great meals. I started with the 450 cal lunch and dinner for two people. Really enjoyed the variety and out of the roughly 5 weeks of meals I only didn’t like 2 or 3. Only some of the meals weren’t great to reheat for lunch. One problem I ran into was how long the veges stayed fresh. It doesn’t work if you need to push the meals back a day. Had to deal with the customer service team too and they were epically awesome to deal with. The live chat was super quick and painless Have moved to the heat 2 cook 2 (week one) - the reheated meals so far have been delicious. Especially the chimchurri beef. It is quite expensive tho esp when you consider the price of the first package I mentioned. Otherwise, a lot of care put into the recipes, easy to follow and not complex”

“Since I started my food bag fresh start I was hooked! Some recipes that I thought I wouldn’t like I liked, the flavours and ingredients just always work so well. I’ve found that following the recipes is so easy and they turn out EVERY time so obviously fool proof. I feel like I’ve turned into quite the chef in the family and also have really enjoyed trying new flavours and recipes.”

“I love the variety that My Food Bag provides and interesting flavours as well. I also love the freebies that occasionally come along. My only downside is not being able to swap a protein out because I don’t really enjoy fish and the bag always seems to have fish.”

“I’m really enjoying trying out new recipes and most of the meals are delicious. It makes eating healthy a lot easier when the food is so good. It would be nice to have the option to swap meals on the fresh start programme as I’m not a huge fan of fish which appears most weeks.”

“Fresh Start is a great way to improve the health of your whanau. After 12 weeks I have lost 9kg and my husband’s diabetes is better controlled.We love the food and look forward to cooking together each night. We are trying food that wouldn’t normally be in our everyday cooking and expanding our love of herbs and spices. The recipes are easy to follow, the food delicious and it takes out the hassle of what to have for dinner!!”

“My food bag is so easy and makes family meals so exciting. I work 12 hour shifts and cooking dinner was always stressful for me and I never wanted to cook. Now all that stress has gone. I can come home from work knowing I have all the ingredients and the recipes to cook my family a healthy meal within less an one hour. I love the food bag and whats even better is now the children are cooking some of the meals for me. Thank you my food bag.”

“I really like the recipes, and variety of food. We do eat many different veges now - asparagus being one of them! We repeat some of the sauces and couscous for other meals during the week. I am however unimpressed with the cuts of beef - I end up cutting so much fat off there’s not much left.”

“I love the range of recipes, they are almost always delicious and the range of ingredients used is great. One thing I would like to see improved is less waste in the packaging for meat and spices. :) I started with the standard food bag but thought it was too carb heavy so moved to the fresh start program which we love but I wish it came in 3 or 4 days instead of only 5 because it means we can't eat out/get takeout during the weekdays if we have a late night at work. We aren't eating fresh start to lose weight, only cause it tastes much better so we don't need it 5 nights a week but it's not worth it to go back to food bag because we didn't like the recipes as much.”

“Mostly great , enjoy not having to think about what to cook . Recipes usually very good and interesting ingredients / combinations are incorporated . Food almost always fresh and of high quality . Reasons for me not rating m f b 5 are : Expensive Too much unnecessary packaging Sometimes requires too many pots and pans. Sometimes it would be good to have a one pot meal ( like biryani) Lastly - not enough choice for vegetarians ( I say this as an after thought as recently m f b started veg for 4 - and I’m greatful .... but a few more veg choices would be awesome eg no eggs , choice of 3 meals out of the 4 veg for 2 , and even dairy free / vegan !!! I’m sure within 18 months it will appear ! Fingers crossed ) I don’t use m f b often ( prob would if I could afford to ) but mostly it really is great and even us foodies need a little inspiration sometimes !”
