“I have been doing My Foodbag since it was launched in Tauranga. I can’t begin to tell you how it has changed our lives! To start with we are now eating healthier than ever before and are eating a huge array of different food types I would never have dreamt of cooking. Then there is the fantastic result of having easy to follow recipes... our whole family will get stuck into the cooking and preparing, it has been great to see our daughters happily cooking. Then there is the effect it has had on our time. No time is spent planning, driving, shopping and spending, and on that note I can honestly say our food spending has decreased significantly since having My Foodbag. I hardly go to the supermarket now where as before I would go s few times a week going for 3 items and coming out with 33! I have introduced several friends to My Foodbag all who love it. The food is always fresh, varied and delicious. My only suggestion would be to change the ordering system to enable you to swap and change your Foodbag weeks in advanced to cater for visitors etc rather than having to do it the week before.”

“I love my foodbag! Fresh start is my fave and I’ve tried them all. Fresh start is super tasty and there’s usually enough for lunch the next day. Low cal and carb without losing points for taste. Wasn’t really after a “diet” box just liked the look of the recipes more. Not disappointed it real yum. Bonus points = my teens can follow the recipes and actually cook! It wouldn’t really matter what the food tasted like to encourage teens to cook”

“Often don't use all the pots of dressing and sauces, spices etc as find some of the flavours a bit creamy and rich/not to my taste. Love all the Asian inspired dishes and would happily have these every night. Overall it is good quality ingredients and variety delivered to the door. I do get the fruit box also and have found the bananas bruised a few times quite badly. They look ok on the outside but completely bruised inside. Sometimes it feels like value for money and other times it seems a bit empty but generally again a good variety. Happy overall.”

“I look forward to receiving my food bag each week, while not all meals are to my liking, it has definitely increased my food choices, and the "rate the recipe" area is where we can make helpful comments. After many years of thinking "what am I going to cook for dinner" I now know exactly what I am going to cook and it is so good. Keep up the Good work.”

“My husband and I have been cooking my food bag for approximately 1 year now with the odd week off for holidays etc. We have really enjoyed most of our light 10 meals and have lost 50kg between us. I love not having to think about what to cook each night and we have enjoyed trying new flavours.”

“I have been receiving the Food Bag for a year now. The food is always fresh, the recipes are easy to follow and very tasty. It has been great for us as my husband has diabetes and the food and quantities have helped us to keep the diabetes well under control. He is also very excited to check out what he will be eating each week. I have recommended it to others and they love it too.”

“The recipes have gotten better, more tastier as time as gone on. My main ‘bug bear’ is the use of chicken breast instead of thigh, it’s so easy to over cook and become unenjoyable to eat!”

“The food and recipes are always amazing! Unfortunately quite often we have ingredients missing from our food bag which is starting to get very frustrating. The staff kindly compensate us for the missed ingredients when we notify them of this which is great, but it doesn't really help at the time as you still need to go out and get what was missing.”

“My Food Bag is good most of the time. The great things are that it saves me going to different places to get good quality ingredients and keeps weekly meals interesting. It also means teenagers in the family don't have an excuse not to make dinner once or twice a week! We get the lite 20 which suits all the family as the boys can have an extra potato or a roll to fill them up - I find it versatile and suits everyone. Sometimes though the meals can be a little lacking in flavour and lately some of the vegetables have not been very fresh. The protein is generally good, but the beef can be tough and sometimes there isn't much fish - and would like salmon more! Often the garlic and ginger can be a bit rotten, and I have had rotten or slightly mouldy items too, eg like herbs, cauliflower, mung beans.”

It's a fantastic option that I'm happy to hear your family has been getting involved with. I'm really sorry to hear that the quality of the produce you've had with some of your vegetables, we'll go back to our suppliers make sure that it meets both yours and our expectations in future. We're recently been reducing our plastic use and have found that for some items, not having plastic wrapping can effect the life-span of the products so we're continuing to work to keep items fresh and reduce our plastic options. Salmon is delicious! I hear you - it's always nice to have some salmon in your weekly cooking! I'll pass this request onto our Development Kitchen for you. They'll be able to review how to incorporate into a under 450 calorie meal in the Fresh Start plans.
