Hermes is great until the inevitable happens and something goes wrong and then you get stuck in an automated attempt to not resolve your issue. We have sent quite a few items with Hermes and until something goes wrong they have been excellent but if you want to resolve an issue they caused , they will do everything they can to stop you contacting someone who can help, their automated system just sends you around and around until you tire of their attempts to stop you putting in a claim. We actually managed to use Google to find a Customer Service email address and we were actually told by the company to put in a claim with the person sending it , which is strange considering we are the person sending it and this is just kicking the problem onto the customer who has had the bad service. Truly the worst carrier experience we have ever had and we used to send things by Parcelforce so the bar was already as low as it could go ( apparently Hermes felt it wasn't low enough). Luckily the customer was really understanding and we sent a replacement after two weeks of it not turning up ( it still hasn't turned up yet after a month. It isn't the fact that something went wrong , it happens but the ability to correct this is a huge reason we have stopped using Hermes and will never use them again. I gave them 2 because until there is an issue they are ok ( a few turn up late but they do usually get there) but it's hard to excuse how bad the customer experience is and their barrier approach to solving issues they cause. Really don't use them stick with one of the better companies, which are everyone else but Hermes

Unless you have a problem ( and eventually you will have a problem with any courier firm) they are great but when you have a problem , they are the worst company you could send your items out with. They were cheap and mainly cheerful and now with their prices increases , they are not cheap and very not cheerful. One point to add they have now added an automation process to speed up resolving an issue as this is actually worse than the awful system it repeated. I really wouldn't recommend.

I have had problems with My Hermes relating to delays in collecting parcels from my address. Recently I booked a parcel which they said would be collected on Aug 4th. That day came and went {no collection} Next day was the same. On the third day after much trying I managed to speak to someone and eventually the courier called. As to "Holly" the virtual agent, that is absolutely and completely useless. My current feeling is to finish sending anything else with this courier as my blood pressure must go sky high each time.

Parcels left on front doorstep in full view of anyone passing by, I always state the safe place to leave if not at home, and it's not the front doorstep! The items came to a value of about £80, so not good service, I feel lucky that they weren't stolen.

Waited in all day (Saturday), put a note on the front door where parcel would be if we were out. Still not collected by 5pm. We were all in when my son noticed a Hermes missed collection card in the hall. Courier didn’t knock and didn’t see the rather large note that I left right next to the letter box where she posted her card through!

Have tried to be in contact with them concerning a employee of there’s no chance and now as it’s come about parcels going to auction houses not surpraised this one got rid of a whole house of contents.

My parcel was delivered but once again why can't the driver be honest and say 'left in porch', it is very annoying when you get the email saying'parcel delivered and signed for', not true...again. When you try to contact, it's impossible to get through or you speak to some robot on live chat that doesn't have the vocabulary to recognised 'I am not happy with Hermes'

On two separate occasions I have had parcels left at my back door when I explicitly requested that the parcels be left with my next door neighbour. To add insult i received a message to say that the item was delivered and was signed for at the address. Strange, as no one was at home. I also didn't receive a parcel when they they said it was delivered and singed for. Luckily I have CCTV at my house to prove that the driver did not deliver. A company is only as good as the reliability and honesty of their drivers.

Until recently I had all positive experiences with Hermes, both sending and receiving. But when things go wrong.... I sent my mother a Bosch cordless vacuum cleaner a fortnight before Christmas, but the tracking stopped at my local depot. I started to chase it immediately, but customer service were unable to phone the depot, and they took days to reply to an email requesting they look for the parcel.By the first week of January I was eligible to submit a compensation claim, as I had taken out cover for £139, the amount I paid at a Currys sale. I was told I had to wait fourteen working days before a decision was made, this equating to nearly three calendar weeks. I had to make several calls to the claims department before they finally transferred the insured sum, plus shipping refund. Of course I can no longer buy the vacuum at the sale price, the cheapest is £189. You cannot over-insure your parcel because the claims department want to see receipts for everything. I believe my vacuum cleaner was stolen at the depot- foolishly I sent it in its original carton, with photographs of the contents. Considering my parcel had label envelopes there is no way it is 'lost' in their warehouses, if that were the case they would be knee deep in lost parcels, every week. I am now looking for alternatives to Hermes, even though it will mean a longer trip to a drop-off, or pay for collection. Before my bad experience I would have given four stars, but I can't forgive the appalling level of customer service, and the amount of my time the whole episode has taken.

I ordered things from two places on Friday that said 3-5 days delivery so I took Wednesday the next week off work to receive my parcels. One delivery was attempted Monday and then both were attempted Tuesday (much to my surprise) and a note was left saying they would come the next day. Wednesday came and went but no parcels. I tried to call MyHermes but you literally cannot speak to a human being at this company, it’s impossible. I waited at the house from 8am-8pm and nothing. As I would not be home on Thursday, my parcels would go back to the retailer so I have had to take an extra day off work. I’m disappointed that they did not tell me they would not attempt a delivery on Wednesday and that you just can’t speak to the depot.

A parcel was delivered today by Hermes & left outside my front door, when I had expressly asked for it to be left in the greenhouse (visible from the road). It started raining before I got in & so the parcel was soaked. Hermes are not following delivery instructions re where to leave parcels if you happen to be at work. There is no way to complain directly to anyone in person, as a phone call tells you to use on line chat & that is with a predetermined set of questions & so can't adapt to individual queries which are out of the ordinary. I'm not impressed with them at all.

Until recently I’ve been relatively pleased but I ordered a Christmas present and was assured by the company that it would arrive latest 24th Dec, informed it had left for delivery on 19th for next day delivery via Hermes. 24th Dec I had notification fro Hermes that it had arrived in their depot and would be delivered n next 3-7 days!!! My niece went without a Christmas present as she lives a distance away, she may get it next year! Been away, home today (txt from Hermes, delivery between 3&5) before 3 , find note, been delivered to neighbour who I’ve never nominated!!! Thanks Hermes, I’ve been home for hours but no parcel has yet appeared!!!!!

Hermes lost my £225 parcel - I paid extra for insurance but it was very stressful and extremely time consuming to have them confirm it was lost, make a claim, chase it up, provide evidence and almost beg for a refund. Took a full 14 working days for them to compensate me.

Delivery was only slightly late from their estimated time and at least arrived which is something, but tracking said I had signed for it when I wasn’t even home when package was delivered and neither had anyone else in the household. Why are the delivery people forging signatures?
