The issue that I experienced was: I needed to carrier a television I had sold on eBay to the purchaser in Cardiff and chose to use Hermes. I went to the Hermes web site so that I could book and pay on line. I competed the necessary details, address, parcel contents and value required to send the parcel. The item description was selected from a drop down menu, I selected television. I next entered the content value as £280 and was then informed that cover for damage in transit was up to a maximum of £25 only; however there was an option to pay extra, approx £16.50, for additional insurance which would provide cover up to a value of £280. I chose to pay the additional fee for full cover so therefore assumed that as you had taken payment you had entered in to a contract and had accepted liability for damage and I was covered up to £280. The transaction was now complete I saw no reason, nor was I advised to check wether televisions are claimable items. The item was damaged in transit and I now discover that televisions are non claimable items so I paid extra when it was not covered anyway! I have had several correspondences with a Hermes but their decision is that I cannot claim! In my opinion this would not have occurred if any non claimable items did not appear in the parcel content drop down, I would have used a different carrier. The fact that I was offered extra insurance which turned out to be worthless is surely a case of mis selling?

Checked parcel tracking number & it says parcel delivered to neighbour 3 days ago . I had no idea they were coming that day but I was in all day & no door knock or anything .I suspect that they’ve just dumped it in my block & to cover for themselves they’ve claimed to have left it with a neighbour . No neighbour knows anything above it this.Very poor company , they make it difficult to complain & they regular dump parcels of mine on the ground floor in my block rather than come up the stairs to give it to me . They also have forged my signature claiming it to be my signature on parcel tracking !

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a package, which they tried to deliver 4 times with no way of rearranging a time slot. Upon the 5th delivery it was signed for and tracked to my house. Not by me and not to my house, or my neighbours either. I complained to the company, then all of a sudden they attempted to deliver my 'delivered' package. Following this I cancelled my order and requested they return it to the dispatcher so that I could get my money back. I then proceeded to order a similar product on Amazon with a different company...to my despair they also used Hermes. I booked a delivery date of 26th April, so of course they attempted to deliver it on the 25th (so I missed it.) After waiting in for most of the day of the 26th I checked the tracker to discover I had apparently 'requested that parcel to be returned to dispatcher' (please note through all of this I have been unable to contact Hermes at all. I cancelled my first order with the dispatcher themselves, and the second package was with a different company.) I spent the day waiting, only to check in the afternoon. They seem to change statuses of parcels to cover their backs and make it as difficult as possible to complain. I know this seems petty, but sometimes stuff like this really tips you over the edge.

This company is thieves. They stole or lost a package worth 217 pounds. I had a guitar that was not delivered to the buyer. I have to give money back and I did not get my guitar back. No one in this company is responsible for anything. No help. (Barcode 1828645247433386). NOT SEND ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS LOSS OF SHIPMENT

Paid for next day delivery, get a text saying they wont attempt delivery at 10am. Last time using them I had delays for 3 days as first of all they said the road wasnt accessible because of snow when there wasnt any, then they said that they couldn't access the block of flats when there isn't even flats it a terraced street then they said none was home which I 100% was. Absolute joke of a company. And just try calling them to resolve it, no number for them and when you finally find one its automated and you cant speak to anyone. Nice one Hermes, my three year old wont have her Disney dresses for her birthday tomorrow!!!

We sent three very carefully packed boxes of towels back to seller in Birmingham. One arrived , one was returned bashed to pieces. We claimed for the other as lost as Hermes said they could not locate it. We had these boxes preweighed and put extra postage on it. Picked up from home and scanned , they have messed up and just trying to get out of their responsibility. We insured up to full value. This is a USELESS company , do not trust them with your items.

Not just on this occasion ... I have NEVER had a smooth, stress free delivery from Hermes. Usually the courier says they have attempted even when somebody is there to prove that no attempt has been made. The latest delivery was put through an unknown letter box. Photo evidence to prove it was the wrong one! BRILLIANT... and can you speak to anyone about it??? Only via webchat after 3 hours of searching.

Lost my parcel. After 2 months of contacting them and nobody knew where was exactly they were saying to wait, then that it was sent back to me then to the recipient but nobody was actually here to deliver or to the place I sent the parcel. When I first sent the parcel I paid about £5 extra to insure my parcel worth £50 against lost or damage but they didn't pay me back nothing even if they declare it lost!!!

Bread maker sent via MyHermes after being sold on eBay. My first eBay experience. Despite being very carefully and correctly packaged it arrived in bits having being dropped in its corner “with considerable force”. My Hermes do not compensate for kitchen appliances - along with 90% of all other saleable goods it would appear - so I’m out of pocket as had to refund my buyer plus postage. Hermes automated phone service directs you to their web page which in turn directs you to call the phone number. You can’t speak or screen chat to anyone. They don’t want to know and can throw your package around, breaking it, with no redress. Totally disgusted with “service”.

Absolutely appalling service, they take the parcel, throw it around and then report that it's damaged beyond repair. Well, that's what one tracking system said, the other said it was "out for delivery" ! They then destroy the parcel so you have no evidence to pursue the matter. An absolute disgrace.

wherever I live , I have problems with myhermes. The latest problem is that they say they have delivered via email when no one has sounded the buzzer or knocked at the door. I was waiting for two parcels, one was left outside my door, which I got, and the other was apparently signed by me but is nowhere to be found, either outside my door or downstairs in the communal post area. the phone number is automated and rubbish, no way to actually speak to anyone, and the webchat service impossible to find, at least for me.

Waited in, 2 days in a row, delivery attempted according to tracking, no one used my buzzer, knocked on my door or left a attempted delivery card and this is not the first time this has happened with Hermes, I don’t use them but unfortunately one of the companies I get a subscription box from uses them. Have still not relieved package now stating I have to wait until Tuesday for it when I will be back at work

Ordered a parcel and paid £9 extra for quick delivery parcel arrived to days later Hermes driver was very rude and quite aggressive he wouldn’t leave our business until I told him I was going to call the police he said a lady was supposed to bring our parcel yesterday but she couldn’t be bothered to carry it omg this driver should be sacked as well as the lady delivery driver who apparently can’t be bothered to carry parcels so doesn’t deliver them

The worst courier company in the U.K., they should lost their licence to do business. For me there’s is always a bad experience when somebody send me a parcel trough them. It’s a constant for them to claim they attempted to deliver your parcel and nobody was home; they lied since I always wait at home when I’m expecting a delivery. No notes to prove somebody was at your house as they said. Customer service is inefficient, no way to speak to anyone at their end

Very unreliable and poor service I’ve ordered from company’s which use Hermes as a courier and one time they lost my parcel in transit and other times my parcel arrived late. The worst delivery service I have ever used. They should be shut down and I strongly advice against using them.

I’ve just had another bad experience with Hermes- changing my plans three days in a row to be at home for their 2 hour delivery window only to receive 2 updates saying they came to the house and I wasn’t in and a third today saying they’re returning the item to the sender. So three days of my life turned upside down for nothing again. It seems if you’re in an area with a good driver you’re OK, but in my village Hermes are notorious for not delivering. I and several neighbours have wasted hours of time sending more information, more details on how to find our houses, corroborative evidence to prove that we were at home, that were not deaf and blind etc.- and nothing’s changed. At best it’s incompetent management but it feels more like collusion- they accept payment for a delivery with a culture that says it’s OK to say lie if the address adds more than a few minutes to the delivery route. Most other delivery companies seem to have upped their game (DPD, DHL and Amazon seem to have far fewer problems and actually sort them out) but Hermes is a blast of the bad old days. Never again- I’m now forced into a position where I can’t use companies who use Hermes to deliver which I really resent.
