I have had the misfortune of having this company used to deliver an order I placed. The package had the full postal address but unfortunately, I made a typo in the postcode. I had a failed delivery notification and was unable to change the postcode. I have just contacted their online chat and was told they can not/ will not deliver and I had to contact the retailer to request an amendment as they will only take it from them because that is who your contract is with. I did this. I waited while the retailer contacted Hermes. They then informed me that Hermes WILL NOT allow them to change a postcode. They are returning the package to them and it will have to be resent with the correct postcode. Now Hermes had the number and street name, the local area, the city, the county. Or in other words an address that looks like this .... 1 The High Street Westbank Big City Middle County UK So it seems an international company who "specialise" in delivering packages are unable to find somewhere based on the above ? Or cope with a typo ? Or are unable to deliver without a full postcode ? And then will not take the correct postcode within 12 hours from either myself or the retailer ? I would also like to point out that there is about 3 miles between the two postcodes, so it is not as if the package has ended up at a depot hundreds of miles away. This is absolutely ridiculous !!

Hermes has been investigating the loss of a parcel a Courier is alleged to have left in a safe place at my home address. The parcel was not left where the Courier alleges and despite the fact that the parcel was not left anywhere on mine or my neighbours property they continue to insist it was. Where then is my parcel which was a late Christmas gift????? If I could rate Hrmes service minus stars I would. Dreadful way to run a business.

How difficult is to ring the doorbell when you Hermes deliver, yes it takes a few more minutes but it's better than getting an email to say you have left parcel outside on the porch

The worst, and i mean the absolute worst courier company i have every used and i have tried many. I gave them 3 different opportunities to prove themselves and on each occasion they managed to lose an item. The claiming process and talking to someone who isnt a bot is near on impossible. There was even an occasion where a couple of the items were not delivered and were returned to me and the state at which they were returned looked like someone had jumped up and down on the box so i was quite relieved the customer didn't receive them. I now use UPS for everything, they are a bit more expensive but atleast i know my products arrive when they should and in good condition. DO NOT USE.

Parcel lost from about 1 month they are sending emails I need to report it on claim form which i done straight away

Unacceptable, left work early on 2 occasions, to receive a parcel. No attempt was made to deliver the goods, but the tracking record stated that attempts had been made. Not to may address anyway. The goods have now been returned to sender for a different courier to deliver.

What has happened to this company. When they used to leave cards they would have the courier's mobile number so that you ring and re-arrange delivery. Now they do 3 attempts then send the item back. You don't get an option to collect from anywhere if you go to the website all it tells you is there will be a further attempt to deliver. Absolutely rubbish. I have told all the online companies I use not to send any items to me via Hermes as I never receive anything as guess what I go to work so I can buy items so am not just sitting around all day. This company must spend all day returning items to companies make me wander how long before they are gone. Worst parcel delivery service ever.

I live in a block of flats and I'm yet to see a hermes 'sorry i missed you' ticket with any information on it. Its usually guess work with these guys, every time I see one of these tickets delivered to our building I have to phone them up to check if it was me for me or not. The most half-arsed couriers you can imagine

Worst service I’ve ever seen. More than one time my package never arrived when the website said it was delivered, nobody rang the bell in one occasion and hide my expensive and fragile package next to the bin. Another time I’ve had to find my package ringing on random neighbour doors. Not even mention the waiting times are the longest.

Dropped a note through my door. Hardly legible scribble. No attempt made at re-delivery. Contacted so-called Customer Service via web-chat.Pathetic experience. Keeps repeating the same sentence like a robot. Tells me that the tracking code on the slip doesn't work. So what's the point of having a tracking code? They must be randomly dropping a slip with no connection to the actual parcel. TERRIBLE service!

Hermes is the worst delivery company and they should be banned from UK! They left my computer in "a safe place" which was my recycle bin! And that was on the recycle collection day! I found my parcel by chance in the bin and it was opened. I suspect this was done when they came from council to collect the bins and they found a computer inside, and they wanted to make sure that it is not recycling material! Seriously, I am saying this to everyone working for Hermes, you should all quit and go home! You put a computer in a recycle bin! Worst ever service you can get!

Can not believe this company is still in existence. Ordered a parcel to be delivered to my work address because they can never deliver to me at home( it always gets failed because there is no one in even though I don't go out when waiting for a delivery). Get email to say parcel would be delivered yesterday, bit surprised to get a Saturday delivery but no worries my work place is manned. As it is a present for my wife I drive the 54 miles to work, arrive there before the given time slot of 1 till 5 and then keep an eye on the online tracking. Though and behold the delivery gets failed at 12:44, notice its before the time slot anyway, but there was no attempt at delivery to the address stated on the delivery. Try to get in touch with them via telephone, every number you can find just goes to a recorded service with limited options. Go to live chat, get assured that they will contact the courier, couldn't guarantee that he would be able to attempt delivery again that day, again? he didn't bother the first time, so I say I will drive to him to save my whole day being wasted. Needless to say they couldn't contact the courier and my parcel doesn't get delivered. I drive home and eventually manage to find a number where I could talk to a person, Nasser at the Leeds contact centre, what a complete waste of time he was. During the conversation I mention I will be contacting the retailer to cancel my order, he straight away jumps on that and says he will make a note so that delivery isn't retried. This is not his place to do that, you need to wait for notice from the retailer to say they were able to cancel the order and refund my money. Because of this I verbally made a GDPR request for information, he refused to acknowledge my request saying I had to write in and there was a charge. This is in fact wrong under the guidelines of GDPR but my guess is Hermes just want to hide what they write in any notes they make. I have since emailed Hermes with the request via their facebook page so I wait with baited breath to see whether they oblige. In the meantime I have no idea if they are going to bother delivering my parcel or even if they do send it out whether their courier will be bothered to even attempt delivery. This firm is run by a bunch of uncaring executives who only seem to employ lazy couriers, never though any parcel company could be worse than Yodel, but congratulations Hermes you have managed it.

Good luck getting your parcel! Not only have I waited days to get my parcel, it's arrived with the packaging opened and the contents missing! This is really, really concerning. Thankfully the retailer I ordered from has been really helpful and is sending out a replacement, but hopefully they won't be sending it via Hermes! Companies - for the sake of the grief it must cause your poor customer service teams, just avoid using Hermes.

Ramsey Mereside (Cambs) Courier Abysmal service overseen by chaotic management who seemingly have no ability to deal with poor performance of individual couriers, or even endorse it themselves. Suffered from inappropriate conduct by an individual courier, which we complained to Hermes about. The same courier reappears delivering packages after being assured they would no longer be delivering to our address, hands packages over but then snatches them back saying 'that's for complaining'. The packages then disappear on a circuitous journey of being handed to different couriers and false 'attempted deliveries' before being delivered late. The most recent event involved a next day delivery dispatched on a Wednesday paying £8.95 for the service to be delivered Thursday. This was for a present to take to a relative who is very unwell, to be taken with us to give to them. This arrived on SATURDAY AFTER WE RETURNED FROM THE TRIP!!!! We took up the matter with the company we purchased the item from who were very kind and helpful and did their best despite Hermes to have it delivered and refunded the delivery cost and will be having the item returned at their cost as they have advised they can have it collected - they are so helpful, the polar opposite to Hermes. We will be writing to them to complain about Hermes as they have advised us to do, although its all time out of your life. Its not he first company we have purchased items from businesses delivering through Hermes where we have had difficulty, one of which was appalled by the behavior and would be carrying out their own investigations. So, one individual courier damaging Hermes reputation, complaints to the procurers of their service, potentially damaging their business and now this negative report. Its the least we can do in return since they cannot resolve the issue! No problem with ANY other courier nor Hermes other couriers either. Fine if you don't have an issue, dreadful if you do.

I wanted to send a parcel with myhermes. Booked it online. It was supposed to be collected next day. I stayed home all day because they were supposed to come between 8am and 8pm. No one came. The day after I contacted them and was told that the collection is scheduled for next day. So another day I had to stay home and wait. But yet again no one came. I contacted them only to be told that the courier wrote down that he came twice but didn’t collect the parcel because it hasn’t been packed properly?!?!! I couldn’t believe it. Not only they don’t do their job but they are impudent enough to lie about it. Very angry and disappointed. Will never use them again

Informed me parcels have been delivered but they are no where to be seen. Someone was in all day to accept delivery but there was no knock or ringing of the doorbell. Shocking customer service, very hard to get in contact with anyone. The live chat service accused me of lying and told me to refer to the retailer when it is clearly a fault of the courier. Website useless. No help at all. Would strongly recommend not to use.
