We usually stay in priority parking but upgraded to meet and greet. When we returned from our holiday we went to the meet and greet desk, and we were handed our car keys and told to get our own vehicle. I had expected us to wait with our luggage while someone else retrieved the car. The car ended up being further away than the usual priority parking we use. We paid more for this and I was disappointed with the whole experience.

The carpark is of ample amount at the time we went. The big issue is if its raining or adverse weather then you are going to get wet etc The 3 times I've used the airport parking there has never been transport even though there are buses.

Newcastle is usually an excellent airport, but on this occasion there was chaos in security because one of the belts was diverting everyone’s bags for searching and there were no staff around to help the one poor women trying to investigate everyone’s bags. It was weird because there were numerous people looking at the belt next to ours which was cordoned off and a man ostentatiously wandering around saying he was looking for someone to help the woman, rather than helping him herself. Then when we finally got through security there were loads of duty free staff standing around doing nothing. Allocating a few more trained security staff and a few less standing around people would have made a big difference that morning!

Fair overall experience. Parking bays are a bit on the small size for premium parking. Take a can opener and shoe horn with you.

Main issue was there isn’t or doesn’t appear to be any information re shuttle buses back to your car .. ended up having to wheel cases etc circa over 800m

On line booking and ticket system works well. I have to mention however that I would have thought that on returning to Newcastle on 1/12/23 that the long stay car park that my vehicle had been parked would have been gritted following the snowfall prior to that date. Fortunately I have a front wheel drive new vehicle that is good in such conditions. If I’d had a Merc or BMW I might have been booking into the airport hotel, buying a spade and phoning the AA for a tow out of the car park. A bit more grit please. 🙏 cheers

Parking itself was fine, with a number of spaces to choose from. There is, however, an issue with the parking system. On arrival, I dropped an elderly person at express drop off, then proceeded to Long Stay. I parked the car and walked to the terminal. On returning after my trip, the barrier would not open as I was judged to owe over £100 for my stay. I pressed the help button, and after some time the barrier was raised. Entering the express drop-off area appears to have voided my pre-payment. I wonder how many others this happens to, as dropping off passengers before parking is not unusual. No complaints about parking, staff or security of the vehicle -- all fine. However, the system needs adjustment to avoid post-flight stress.

The airport is getting better but still queues and long waits for luggage after terrible queues at security , the bars and restaurant are allways full and very costly. , the car parks ( short stay 2 ) are excellent

Unless you park in short stay one all other parking is too far away from the terminal. You need a bus system
