Appalling, had their amazon credit card for 4 weeks, spend all of £12 on the card and they charged a £12 late fee for missing paying a £5by 7 days (was on holiday) , so they charged the equivalent of 2.5 min payments and send a really snotty unhelpful letter too. Closed account not the type of company i would want having my business

Just cleared one of my cards with Newday Off, and the rest will be going as soon as I can do that, they must have loads of bad debts on their portfolio, because good and long standing customers are getting their collars felt, I am frankly sick to the back teeth of letters from this Company, one minute its persistent debt, the next is reduced credit limit, then account suspended, never missed a payment on any of their cards, we have been, as a country through the most horrendous 18 months with the Covid issues, people losing their jobs, or furloughed, god help anybody that might need help from this shower, oh and if someone pays off the balance and asks for the credit card to be cancelled then that is a request that these people should rightfully honour, not try to spit their dummy out....

I got an Amazon New Day card a few years ago and used it from time to time, I had a few installment plans on the card with a responable interest rate. A couple of months ago, I was informed that one of my installment plans was cancelled for "breach of contract", I quickly checked my account and all my payments had gone through (I pay way over the min required each month) so was kinda confused. So I Called the guys up about this and the support team said "Oh, ye, our bad" and re-enstated the installment plan, I asked what it was I had done but they said it was an error on their side. I heard others report this issue so decided to settle in full, then 2 months later on a £0 balance I get charged 0.15P interest? Tried to call but got nowhere as they are unsure why this happened but after reading other reviews this seems like a common tactic employed by the company, it seems like they do this to damage the credit rating for people who try and close the account a month after clearing the balance in full.... guess I was lucky I waited a couple of months to see if they tried to pull this scam and it appears they did. I paid the 15p and closed the account... utter cowboys, avoid this if you value your credit score.

Bought several items from AO.com on finance, who use New Day to provide their finance, so I bought two ovens on Buy Now Pay Later in November, then a Washing machine on 12 months 0% in March. Made payment to clear the oven balance before the 6 months was up (so as not to incur interest) in May 2021. New Day decided that they would take this payment and instead pay off the Washing machine first as, in their view, this was the 'more expensive' debt. Despite it being 12 equal payments with 0% interest. So, I now have to pay interest on the 2 ovens I bought, despite having done everything required of me as stated within the finance agreement to prevent interest being charged. Having complained, they rejected the complaint, still insisting that a 0% interest free credit agreement is, somehow, the most expensive debt and so they are correct in paying this off first. Utter shambles of a company, their helpline know nothing of credit regulations or even credit products that are available through the various retailers they work with (they don't know the difference between an instalment plan and Interest Free Credit). Even their complaints dept know the difference between an Instalment plan and a 0% Interest Instalment Plan. If they did, they would have realised the mistake and corrected it. Instead they gaslight and try to get away with charging interest that they are not entitled to. Told AO that they need to review who they use to provide their finance as it is dragging their name down too. The images attached show their mistakes. Clearly, I have 11 months left of the interest free agreement. This would have been 11 equal payments of £38.25 to clear the balance (422) withouth any interest. This clearly being the 'cheapest' debt. 0% interest free instalment plans are clearly a clearly different product to the standard instalment plan. Yet New Day don't seem to know the difference. The images show the £1350 deposited, but £420 of which is first used to clear the balance on the 0% interest free instalment plan. The rest is then used to clear the BNPL balance, so £422 left outstanding on the BNPL is then transferred to a standard (i.e. interest bearing) account.

Fake transactions, threatening letters and lack of help from the customer service other than to ask me to ring retailers and sort it out. Appalling!

A lot of money was taken from my account fraudulently. Despite me making several disputes online new day never responded to me. I have raised complaints and no reply. Shocking service do not trust this company. There are plenty reputable credit card companies out there that have amazing customer service this one is non existence.

Absolutely appalling customer service. I have had my card several years now and pay the balance in full every month but on three occasions now they have just blocked my card for absolutely no apparent reason as I never owe more than £1000 and have a £3000 limit. I did write and complain about this and asked why do they block the card and not even advise me and they replied after a considerable length of time and said that they don't have to tell me. Obviously they're not bothered as they're not making any money out of me as I pay my balance in full every month but as there are far better credit cards out there I will be closing my account and get great pleasure from cutting the card up into little pieces. I am surprised though that Amazon are using Newday as I have seen so many really bad reviews now about this company.

I don't think I have ever come across a worst company than Newday and will definitely be closing down my account. I have held a credit card for a number of years and pay off the balance in full each and every month however now on three occasions they have blocked my account without telling me. When I wrote and complained they said they don't have to tell me why and this morning I have tried to make a purchase for some plants for the grand sum £16 and I have a £3000 limit and it has been refused and my card blocked yet again. Enough is enough now and I will be cutting my card up.

Awful customer service. They made errors in a chargeback claim, then more errors by closing it even though the other company accepted the refund chargeback. Spoke to an advisor who said she could not give me information why the chargeback was refused even though the company accepted the refund??? Save yourself stress and Avoid this company!! I will be complaining to ombudsman.

I am in the fortunate position of never incurring interest charges on my Debenhams credit card However I have found this company.New Day,unhelpful and uncooperative Luckily I have other credit cards to use and thus ensure they make no money from transactions I have already informed them that a 5 figure transaction would have taken place with their card will now be done with an alternative

DOn't bother with the '0%' deal as they make their money by ignoring direct debit instructions and charging you fees. Totally fraudulent gangsters.

Despite clearing the monthly amount, without spending on it, the interest and, how much I owe on my credit card appears to change from phone call to phone call: you ask them, is that the amount up-to-date till my next statement and they will affirm this is so; or you will receive a text to say you have overpaid on your last statement and there is nothing to pay this month, only to be told a fortnight later that your account is in arrears and you have x hours to bring your account up to date or they will notify credit agencies: it is my belief they are in collision with arbitrary money lending firms they behave more like money lenders than a credit banking system: they harangue and threaten; they are patronising and very unprofessional and irritating to listen to; the tone of their text messages is bullying; signing up for a Debenhams New Day Credit Card was the worst thing I ever did. The sooner I clear it off the better. Never again!

After checking my experian report recently these fraudsters claim I owe nearly 2000 pounds on god knows where and have 4 different addresses linked to my name . Didn’t open any store cards , credit cards and didn’t recognize any of the addresses. I have NOT lived In the Uk for the past 10 years so find all this a huge pain in the arse. some one should close this company down.

Have said I am about £530 overdrawn with on my previous statement saying the same despite paying £85 to get my account clear and to pay off some of the actual money on the account. How they can do this is beyond me, going to be making a formal complaint to the FOS regarding this as yet again haven't even used the account this month to pay for anything so I can get it completely paid off. This credit was made on thw 18th of September and they've not shown it on the account, avoid this company is all I say have just been a nightmare from day one!
