The first time I shopped with ocado I was most impressed by the delivery man, he was so helpful and didn't dump my items outside. He asked me if I needed help to take it inside now that was wonderful. Hence why I am shopping with ocado again even though I find many of the items more costly than from my usual shop.

Overall very good. But delivery timing was appalling. I had booked a 3-4pm delivery slot, but the delivery only arrived at 8. I had numerous texts telling me that they will be late, but with no explanation whatsoever as to why the delivery has been delayed, nor a time frame of when they would arrive. Very disappointed in the customer service in this respect.

We're really sorry to hear this Faliq, we're glad to hear that you did receive the text messages regarding the lateness of your delivery however, your driver should have called you to notify you of the issue and to give you an estimate of when they would be arriving. Some of the foodstuffs aren't very good value for money. E.g. they cost similar to other shops, but are smaller in size. Delivery driver was rude.

Good website but fruit wasn't very nice. Especially the ripen at home pears. Tasteless even once ripened. Much of the fruit lacked flavour. The fish counter however was excellent.

First order for single item (Tomee Teepee Perfect Prep) got cancelled less than 12 hours before scheduled delivery as item was found to be out of stock. Had to wait another week for things to be sorted out. For my troubles and time wasted with calls, I got the £10 introduction voucher + £20 compensation so the machine that sells for £120 elsewhere and that was on sale at Ocado.com for £69 ended up costing me just £39 so I'm feeling epic!

Very easy online ordering system, very kind and helpful delivery man, good quality products, but I ordered a few loafs of bread from Gail, different ones, and not one of them was available. Given that I passed my order more than a day in advance I do not understand why they cannot manage their stocks better and have them available, or at the very least notify the buyer when they pass the order that they will not be able to deliver some specific items. They notified me in advance about one of the loafs but I discovered on the moment about the others, so was left with no bread for the evening and breakfast (the replacement items they suggested were nowhere near the quality of Gail's bread...)

My overall experience was good: my order was dealt with quickly and competently, and the delivery came on the day and time expected. The driver was helpful and friendly. There is however something which was not quite OK and is important: The HANDLING of the products must have been rough or careless, because two items had suffered: the clear plastic box containing some vegetables had lost its lid, and a carton of paté had also lost its lid, and this could raise a concern about hygiene. First time using Ocado, as I gad a £20 off spending over £80. Products generally seem good although I do have the following issues: Delivery comes from Hatfield area and was delayed by 25 minutes, despite having an hour delivery window. Driver rang to say he would be late due to said lorry fire on A1. Checked traffic hold ups and A1 was blocked south bound, north of Hatfield, but vehicle was coming north so don't know how that works. Also had to report milk was turning off before use by date, but have not had reply back about that yet. Not asked for signature by driver. They also say return bags to driver, but he left in a hurry. No doubt due to the fact he was late delivering.

Sadly when there are problems on the A1 this causes a lot of traffic build up in the Hatfield area which causes delays, we're really sorry this affected you by so much. The delivery was good and all of the items I ordered arrived. However, I was surprised by the amount of plastic carrier bags. A single leek was delivered in it's own large Ocado carrier bag! As were several other items...When I asked if Ocado delivered without bags (as many other supermarkets do) I was told they didn't. They would however recycle my unwanted carrier bags. I would prefer for Ocado to not use any bags in the first place. A small point, maybe, but a big point with regards to the environment.

We're sorry for the disappointment Charlotte, we operate a closed loop recycling system with our bags, which means that all of our new bags are made from recycled old bags. We'll also take back any plastic bags you have from other companies too. We'll be sure to get your feedback passed on though :)

The app is really great (I used my ipad to place the order) and it was a very easy experienced. The order was delivered quickly and no substitutions. Unfortunately much of the fresh food had a very short use by date. I had to freeze much of the fruit (raspberries etc) as they did not have much shelf life.

The service was good and efficient but the quality of the fresh fruit and veg and not good. The avocado were brown, the beans were wet and mouldy and the satsumas went off within a day. very poor.
