About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

On the 12 Dec I ordered and paid for a pair of trekking poles for a Xmas present. I contacted your store by phone on the 3rd Jan to find out how long they would be as they had not arrived. I was told they were on backorder and there was no estimate of a delivery time available. In order to secure a present I had to pay another $120 for the only other pair of trekking poles that were available. They have now arrived without receiving any order advice or any paperwork at all.

I ordered a Tent in store which was advertised well before xmas on special - presuming it to be a stock item. The tent after multiple phone calls arrived approx 1 month later and was supplied from an interstate 3rd party supplier i found out.

My awning arrived missing parts and with extensive damage. Outback were helpful on the phone and indicated they would initiate a warranty claim. I’ve yet to have communication on the status and outcome. I’ve had to instead make up parts myself to try get the awning functional for a planned trip. Disappointing at this stage but I hold hope for the outcome.

The Round sink arrived without waste as advertised and I was told to email Outback Equipment. Sent email to two email addresses but heard nothing. Waste did turn up quite some time later but still no correspondence from OE. I was left in the dark not knowing what was happening. A long delivery time with another item also and after ringing I was told no stock. Again no correspondence from OE. Barry

Website & ordering was easy, I purchased a lifevest for our dog, but although measurements were on the site to fit her, when delivered the tag said 10-20kg, our dog is already 28kg and although it just fits it won’t hold her up. However it will cost me nearly the same as the purchase to send it back.

I went your store ordered and paid for the item , told it will be delivered in 5 days as it is in stock , turned up two and a half weeks later During this time I got all the excuses but never got to speak to the person sending the “ we are looking into it “ emails I thought it was poor customer service to level the blame at a third party supplier, when the item was “ in stock”

Funny you should ask me to review my recent experience with OE three days after I contacted your after sales service team (on line) about delivering the wrong product. I have not had a reply. Can't answer the rest of the questions as nothing has happened.

We ordered an item and were happy with the service when ordering. It was the company who were delivering the item that gave us all the grief by not delivering the item for around two weeks which is absolutely disgraceful and disappointing from Brisbane to Gold Coast. We rang outback equipment and were told you would email the freight company (couldn't contact them by phone!!!!) and that this request would be treated as urgent. We had to ring back a couple of times before we eventually got Hayden (supervisor)at outback equipment to actually track down our parcel. Hayden was helpful but feel that your delivery service Couriers Please needs to be addressed.

The threaded outlets on the 43litre tanks had defective threads. It is not possible to have a fitting that doesn’t leak when the tanks are filled. The tanks are moulded in 2 halves, and the join bisects the outlet. The thread on each outlet is uneven, and creates a path for water leakage. This is unsatisfactory and poor design.

I drove to your store at Acacia Ridge to purchase the Mean Mother tyre repair kit. I was told you had none in stock but you have a person who makes trips a couple of times a week to collect orders. I was assured that I would be able to collect my purchase this week. I phoned earlier this week to check on my order only to be told it would not be in stock until 27 December. I explained the conversation I had with your sales person in store so they advised that they would check. They phoned back and advised that the run was not happening and that the product was not coming in to the store until late January. I cancelled my order and got a refund. You are still advertising this product on your web page with no mention it is not available until the end of next month. Really pathetic customer service.I doubt I will ever use your store again in the future. Totally dissatisfied.

Ordered anode rods for suburban HWS. Good ordering and delivery process but rods are incorrectly threaded and will only screw in a couple of threads. Attempted to return them but no joy.

items are quality, just takes forever to get them............. worst delivery process ever........ makes you want to buy elsewhere and get your purchase within a week or two.

Ordered two items, but only 1 arrived. I had to take a photo to prove my $5 snips didn't arrive. I bought a pair elsewhere. Apparently, after I sent an email with photo proof, another is on the way but haven't seen it yet.

Will take your money for our of stock items and will not contact you to say that the items are out of stock. Actually lied to me on the phone multiple times too. Would not order from this company again.

I was a bit disappointed with the result of my order. The price of the meter rate had more than doubled from the time I found that you sold what I wanted and ordered. Then there was a delay as you couldn't fill the complete order. Then the order was sent still not complete. I rang and was told you would send the item when it came in. Then I received an email saying you couldn't get that colour. I returned the email with other colour suggestions. I received another email with the available colours and an offer of a refund. I then sent an email giving the colour I would accept and also received one saying that the money would be refunded. I think someone jumped the gun, if its ok for you to make customers wait why cant you wait more than 2 days. Thanks Phil

After waiting for over two weeks for order I contacted outback equipment and was advised that my order would be despatched the next day being Friday , the next week still no delivery or update and when I contacted them I was told that they were still waiting for some of my order to arrive. I cancelled the part that was yet to arrive and received the other part 3 days later. Very poor communication

Waited 1 month for my item to be shipped as someone had for got to process the order The have a Faulty throttle controller Call tech support and submitted a warranty claim on 11/10/23 had a automated email reply but have not heard anything still waiting to use my product I brought 6 weeks ago

Waited 4 months for my barometer which was supposed to be a birthday present .Paid extra $20 for express post !! Not impressed . Was meant to have postage refunded but that never happened . Definitely not a happy customer.
