About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

I put an order through the eBay store on 18/05/2023. (22-10067-10906) On 25/05/2023, I received an email saying that my order was on its way, however when I looked at the tracking information, there was no indication that the parcel had been dispatched yet. I called your store on that day to see if you could check whether the item had actually left the warehouse yet as I was able to drop into the store that day to pick it up if it hadn't been dispatched yet. The customer service agent I spoke to advised me that the item had already left the warehouse, and that the item would arrive that afternoon or the next day (Friday 26/05/2023). I then received an email on Friday 26/05/2023 at 4:40pm saying that the parcel had just been picked up. It seems as the customer service agent I spoke to didn't actually check the order, they lied and told me that the order had already been dispatched even though it hadn't even been picked up yet. I would've appreciated it if the customer service agent had properly checked the order or advised me that the order is no longer able to be picked up from the store as it had been assigned a tracking number. I know that the customer service agent didn't check my order because they only used my phone number to check my order - but my order wasn't put through the website/over the phone. It was put through eBay, which isn't linked up to my phone number. Please ask that your customer service agents are more thorough when checking orders or be more transparent when answering customer queries. It is now Monday, I haven't received my order and the tracking information doesn't show any change since Friday, despite the agent advising me that the order should arrive Friday latest.

I have bought a few lights over the past few months and everytime there is no stock. I either need to ring up and change the order so I get parts in time or have to wait like im currently doing. The website should not sell you an item if its not in stock. It took over a week for outback equipment to send an email saying there is no stock and its not good enough. Display whether an item is in stock or not at the time of checkout!

Were unresponsive when queried when the ordered goods would be delivered. Delivery period was excessive.

Poor, ordered lights thinking they were in stock. Waited 6 weeks or longer. Also emailed in between with no response. Need to advertise on back order.

Ok I had a problem with logging in I couldn't order anything Product turned up incomplete Haven't had a email reply Postage dates are incorrect 5 phone calls no answer so far. Do you want me to go on? Package opened. Mark

I ordered 2 x Redarc 1240's and paid for them on checkout. I had to call 10 days later when I hadn't received them to be informed they were sitting in despatch and hadn't been send. They arrived the next day. Luckily I didn't require them urgently.

Many items on your website state “in stock” when in fact they are not. If it states in stock, I would expect to see the item within 3 days. If it’s going to take 2 weeks, you should state that when we add to the basket. Definitely not happy with your delivery times, way too long!

I ordered some gas fittings and basically everything is OK, with the exception of the delivery. I have ordered heaps of things over the same period from other companies and the delivery from Outback Equipment using Aramex Couries is exceedingly bad by comparison. So bad, that it is a significant deterrent for me to order anything else from Outback equipment. I ordered on 20/03/2023 and received the goods on 03/05/2023

Poor performance. Web site said in stock,ordered and was billed the full amount straight away, email said that it has been sent but nothing happened. No tracking history and no delivery. On contacting OE was told that it had been ordered and would be set on to me as soon as it arrived. Recieved the slide 3 days before leaving on my trip

I'm really disappointed that I have not yet received the refund for the hoses, at $135. I have rung twice and sent emails. Seems I have to call again, despite having been told the last time I called that it was sorted. Also the way the order was sent was very strange. Two separate parcels under the same consignment number. The parcels arrived about ten separate to each other. This caused a problem when the second parcel was delivered to the wrong address by Australia Post. When I called them they said no, that parcel was delivered on the date the first parcel had been delivered. That was difficult for them to resolve. Very odd.

I was really disappointed with the amount of time it took to be delivered. It was supposed to be processed within 4 days. I had to call after 8 days only to be told it hadn’t been processed yet. Promised to do it that day only to take another 6 days to be picked up for delivery. All up it took over 4 weeks to get the pre-filter. Product it good but service was really disappointing

Overall I would say my dealing with Outback Equipment has both Pro's and Con's. The Pro's are that I believe my Canvas Seat Covers are of good quality and as per that described on the web site. Another Pro is that when I notified Outback Equipment that only part of my order was received they immediately apologised and advised that they would rectify it. The Con's are that delivery for my initial delivery took much longer than what was initially quoted, they will not deliver to a PO box and use Couriers Please to deliver to a residence only. Couriers Please refuse to deliver to my residence as I'm in a rural area so I had to ask for delivery to a friend's house. Another gripe is that they never respond to emails. Overall I sent 5 emails and had to chase each of them up with a phone call a couple of days later to get action. Trying to set the missing items of my order proved an absolute pain and at times I wondered if I would ever see the pieces. All the order has now been received but I will think twice before using Outback Equipment again.

Part order turns up, no explanation, no information and according to you guys all dispatched as one consignment with one tracking number. Extremely frustrating
