“Absolute disgrace. I made the mistake of joining last year then left after I found a cheaper company. They still took £110, then said they would refund it even after I had cancelled my direct debit. They waited until the 8th January to say they couldn't refund it and will send a cheque instead. I phoned the call centre at OVO and one staff member was like "What cheque?" Another said it had been posted on 22nd December, another said it had been sent on that same day I phoned up. I won't hold my breath. Time to get Ombudsman involved I think. I don't care how long that takes, I do not trust OVO at all. Please be careful and avoid at all costs.”
“Transferred from SSE to OVO without choice. Nightmare. 48 page terms and conditions, threatening tone. First payment estimated at 2.5 times my account with SSE. Trouble ever since. My meter readings not accepted; bills deliberately obscure and written in small italic greyscale. No response to letters, sent via Royal Mail signed-for next-day delivery to Bristol address. Now learn Customer Service is in South Africa. Hence a "Marius".”

Start dates wrong, rates changed, letters not replied to, bills (deliberately, to me) obscure and unnecessarily complicated, terms and conditions 48 pages long, general atmosphere of threaten. "Marius" sends email claiming he is "out of the loop" and demands a "picture of your meter". (Privately note, Customer Services in SA - hence "Marius".) Semi-safe, since never sign Direct Debits. CEO, Stephen Fitzpatrick, look him up!”

“If there was a 0 star button I would give this -1 stars. They took my money and now they are the hardest company to contact. I doubt I’m getting my money back. I don’t understand how it can be so hard to deliver to canada, when that’s where your store is. My order didn’t even make it halfway through the order process and they already said they cant deliver it, which they didn’t give me and option to refund or cancel my order.”
“OVO customers services are based in Sth Africa. They are uncapable in managing customer files.
They asked me to pay via their app, never received any invoices nor meters readings. I do have gas and electric smart meters.
They are unbelievably bad and now reported them to citizen advice bureau, no doubt the complaint will go to the ombudsman as they still not sending any documentation.”
“The world's worst company. I rang up as I am moving to a property that uses Ovo. They then passed me onto the "care team" who were clearly in India, she didn't understand anything I was saying...”
“Avoid! I will be leaving them asap. I paid my balance and it went to £1 in credit. Overnight it went to over £750 in debt! How? They said it’s estimated!!! They want me to pay £445 a month to keep it in credit. I don’t think so. They are scammers and I do not recommend at all.”
“Signed up for my solar panel to be linked in August I’ve phoned 15 times since then and won’t help me! I’ve had numerous smart meters fitting as never worked I’ve had a bill for £900 even though the property was not liveable and nothing was switched on! Avoid at all costs!!!”

Spent 2 months to get a semi-correct bill. Advisor phoned with the correctish figure of £78.35 despite the online balance still showing £172.80
Paid the £78 and told online account catches up in a couple of weeks (14-Nov).
Today receives a debt collection email demanding the balance + presumably a £20 admin fee. I believe the advisors just try take payments knowing that the system is wrong and it goes to debt anyway. AVOID this company at all costs.”
“Left without gas supply since before Christmas eve until 28th because meter doesn't work properly. Spent hours each day trying to get an engineer out, but all the ignorant staff at ovo insisted it just needed a new gas card so kept giving codes for them. Spent days trying to find them as no shop has any that work and ovo couldn't care less. Each person you speak to there tells lie after lie instead of doing their job, that's assuming you can understand a word they say that is! I told them several times my son was recovering from a recent heart attack and it was vital we had gas, but they really do not care. Days spent calling with 1 call alone almost 2 hours long! I pity anyone who's with them , because when you really need help you're not getting it. And they couldn't care less if you're vulnerable or have a vulnerable person living with you ...They are SCUM ! Not worthy of any stars you are just disgusting and so are your so called staff!”
“If I could score-0 I would, disgraceful customer service, they havnt a clue what they are doing Advisors need training, chimps could do better, left me with no heating or water over Christmas, all due to their incompetence, 3 of their engineers who visited my property all said change suppliers ovo are the worst!!! That's great confidence giver, took 8 days to speak to someone e, no one responds, they give a 24 hr phone line , which when you call states they are closed, made 4 complaints , noone has ever got back to me,,, changed to octopus,, English call handlers that know what they are doing and good customer service,, if you are with ovo get out Now!!”
