“Total Scam!!!!
I have completed this transaction with ParcelCompare for sending a A4size document to Turkey on Nov 23, 2023. I paid for the envelope to be delivered to the given address, receiving the signature of the recipient. I was given Nov 28rd as the possible delivery date. I have completed the form with all the required info, including recipient’s tax number. As I was tracking the document I realized that on Nov 25th that the document was held at the UK customs, saying “no tax no given”. I contacted the support line right away and sent the initial forms showing recipient’s tax no. The support center agreed with me and then there was a loong period of silence in spite of my emails asking for the outcome. By this time, I had to send the documents with DHL because the document was addressed to a client and all this put me in a very awkward position. On Dec 11th I got a reply from ParcelCompare, saying my document was given to a different courier and the recipient co should contact the new courier in Istanbul to get the document!!! At the end the document was not delivered at all. Now they are saying, it was because of the rules of Turkish customs! (This is not correct since DHL delivered the same documents in 4 days). I have used the services of this co before and I was not let down before. However now reading through some of these reviews, I think they must have gone through a major restructuring and have become a scam operation. I think they never intended to deliver, just was interested in getting the payment. I have asked for a refund and a compensation for the inconvenience caused may times but it was refused by the co. I believe they should be marked as a scam operation and their operations should be ceased.”
“Scam company- automatic deduction of money from account weeks after delivery for ‘parcel being incorrect size’ which it wasn’t. Avoid, currently disputing with bank for charge back.”
“Avoid @ all costs - you will be ripped off!
Oh I wish I had looked @ these reviews before using them.
Sent a parcel only to incur a 'surcharge' because according to an audit my package was outside of the dimensions / weight yet even though the results of the audit they sent me were under the specifications. This resulted in the charge being 300% of what was quoted which was £35 and then the £72 surcharge on top of that.
Not only that they feel they have the freedom to just charge your card for this surcharge without my approval - essentially you are giving them free rein to charge you when they want.
Don't bother trying to resolve this with their 'support' as all they do is ask you to provide 'evidence' AFTER your package has left so how can you do that.
Disputing this with BarclayCard on principle - again AVOID!”
“They stole my £12 for a service that I never received, because I could not print the label.
Stay clear of this company you have been warned. Go to the post office if you can it cost a lot less and you will get what you paid for.”
“It seems I read the reviews too late.
6 months after delivery of my parcel they decided I need to pay a surcharge but can’t be specific as to why.
They took the money from my bank without my agreement and so I will
persue this.
I won’t use them again .”
“AVOID This company at all costs they have delivered my parcel but have made up a fake surcharge from Ups and that I need to pay extra charges within 7 days”
“Booked a drop off at nearest local Premier shop as shown on booking form. Via Fedex .Took the parcel there and were told “ not doing that until January 2024 ! “ no apology !
Went home and cancelled the booking online. Looked at another drop off point and altered details to drop off there. Phoned the shop first to check that the service is definitely available. Was told yes , no problem.
Took parcel there and assistant scanned bar code. Nothing registered. Sorry but this bar code not recognised !! Returned home again and tried to contact both Parcelcompare and Fedex.
Unable to get help online except by an automatic response bot !
Cancelled complete thing and found another service via Royal Mail drop off facility. If you book online cheaper than Fedex. Looked up reviews of Fedex and on a trustpilot site 93% of customers said don’t use Fedex !! DO NOT USE FEDEX especially via Parcelcompare.”
“Do not use this company! They lost my parcel one year ago…and are now demanding money threatening to destroy my parcel within seven days if I didn’t pay… I didn’t pay and now they say they’ve destroyed it and are still demanding money with threat of legal action! Scammers!!!”
“My item was damaged in the post and even though I had paid extra for insurance they won't pay. The courier said that if I had booked directly I would have been covered by insurance. Just go directly, don't book through this company.”
“My husband sent a package from the UK to Israel. It cost 90 pounds. It reached Belgium then Parcelcompare sent us an email saying it was being returned because of an embargo (the recipient in Israel has had no problem getting parcels before or since then). Now Parcecompare is demanding a further 90 euros for us to get the parcel back or they will dispose of it in a week (it feels like some ransom threat). I have never heard of that kind of practice before and 90 euros (well 180 really) to reach Belgium and back seems ludicrous. Is this company a scam?”
“Just use for comparisons and then book directly with the courier through their own websites. To claim on their insurance if anything goes wrong is an absolute nightmare. I am still fighting for it 12 days on and being sent around in circles. Even worse you have to pay for the return to prove the damages when a parcel is rejected”
“sending me emails that I need to pay £61 as additional payment months after my parcel was delivered. I even saying legal action. The truth is, if parcelcompare put the price they are asking in the first place, I wouldnt use it. but no, at first they offer much cheaper amount than other companies then afterwards they will charge you without your consent”
“They are absolute scam. Get quote for £52.00 charged extra 12000 rupees in pakistan and now deducted £40
from my account without notice. for 8kg old cloths they charged almost £150. They are scammers and doughy people don't even think to use them”
“SCAM!!! If I could select zero stars, it would be more accurate! disgusting service! DO NOT USE! I used them to return a toilet cistern. The item was returned damaged, in pieces! And to top it off, they charged my card extra without warning! saying it was heavier than they thought. Even though it was returned in the same box with the weight stamped on it! mystery! Absolute SCAM!”
“Absolutely everyting they say in the reviews about this company and same problems/scam with them.
However, if you check company house for this corrupt company's name, you will find the people responsible under (people) Associated with this business. Then you can message them all directly on linkedin and contact them via the address details saved in company house. Also, this horrible company use Google ads to promote their business. Each click on their sponsered ad, can cost between £2 to £5. If enough people did this, they will soon loose all their profits they steal off everyone. These scumbags make lots of money from scamming innocent people like us, try the above to stop them getting away with it.”
“no need to go to a theme park....go round in circles for free on the parcel compare.com website. want to submit a claim? click on 'submit' claim then watch it refresh the same page. i did it for hours.....and didn't have to queue for the ride. yay.
DREADFUL company. never again.”
“Avoid like the plague! Do not use! Paid for a parcel delivering from a city 2 hours away in uk and a week later they charged me 20x the original price, which maxed out my card, and took it from my account without authorisation! It was a plastic car part and they claim it was overweight, this was not the case and I have proof but they seem uninterested and have failed to respond to 3 emails. I have sought legal advice and am taking matters further.”
“NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.
IF AN ITEM IS DELIVERED DAMAGED AND YOU’VE INSURED IT THEY DO EVERYTHING NOT TO PAY OUT.
My experience reflects everyone else. But here’s an insight of what they ask for when an item you’ve posted arrives damaged.
“Please do not move the damaged parcel from the delivery location or discard any of the packaging materials, as it may affect your claim.
Secondly, please submit the following information to support your claim within 14 calendar days of the delivery of your item
Clear images of:
a. The external packaging, and especially any visible damage to this material.
b. The internal packaging (showing how each item was packaged), including any damage caused.
c. Any damage to the item/s inside the parcel.
Any other supporting documentation or information you wish to provide to support your claim (for example; if the goods were packaged in the original
manufacturers packaging this information is very useful to support your claim)
Provide proof of value such as a purchase invoice or a receipt
I will then review the evidence you send me, and respond within 7 working days to confirm if a physical damage inspection will be required.
Then what?
1. If a physical inspection of your goods is required, it can take up to 14 days to arrange for your goods to be collected, examined and then returned to you.
2. If the packaging is found to be sufficient and we accept your claim, we will send you a claim form which you must return to us within 7 days.
3. Once we receive the completed claim form back, it will then take up to 14 days for us to process your claim and issue payment.”
I sent photographs 11 times and I can prove it. But they say…”not received, if we don’t get in 3 days we will close your claim”
They then say, can you send a photograph showing internal packaging, again if I don’t send it within 3 days claim will be closed. So I sent that (bearing in mind everything was returned in the manufacturers outer and inner packaging).
They were obviously disappointed I sent a photo showing the item in the inner packaging…bcs now they say can I move some of the inner packaging and take another photo. Bearing in mind I posted this…I didn’t receive it.
Totally corrupt company. Never use them you will certainly regret it if the courier damages the item.
Date of experience: 31 October 2023”
