People beware the insurance goes up every year as your pet ages ! This is not cool & I will be looking for a new company

As pets age, their odds of needing medical care increase, as do the odds this care will be more expensive. 1. It would be beneficial if claims could be submitted without choosing a category (for example having to select wellness or illness) because the claim sometimes falls under both categories or one category would reimburse more than the other. 2. There are supplements, vitamins, etc that some animals do much better in that RX. If you have the pets health as a top priority you should consider covering those. 3. You should be able to add coverage later on as needed (i.e. acupuncture or chiro) without considering everything a pre existing condition. Again, if the pets well being is too of mind these should be able to be added without "penalty".

If your claim includes services for both Illness and Wellness, we suggest submitting your claim under the illness option. Pets Best will separate the Wellness items onto a separate claim automatically so you don't have to worry about doing this on your end! I find that pets best is average. I believe there should be better plans for senior dogs.

I have the wellness for a puppy and it ends up that they don't pay as much as I thought. Vaccines are cheap but they don't cover the doctors fees which are expensive. Turns out that it is realy for extreme misfortunes.

This was by far the longest turnaround time since Covid hit. When I inquired 20 days later I was told claims can take up to 42 days. This was something I never heard before. Honestly, I think the service representative pulled a number out of thin air.

Many problems with the claims department. Finally the only one to solve it was an employee of VetCo who took exceptional interest in our Case. Claim issued in December was finally rejected after it stated I did not supply them with the information needed. Never received that request. The big problems with the latest claim that was finally approved. No one from claims ever actually talks to you. No Manager is available and causes terrible customer relations with customers.

The primary reason I have Pets Best Insurance is to cover catastrophic expenses which may be unforeseen. However I wish they would underwrite preventive care and wellness to more reasonable thresholds. Nothing is more frustrating than getting $30 paid when you have $140 vet bill for wellness care. What is wellness care? A simple blood test annual wellness care looking for problems before they occur. Also routine vaccinations. I pay $720 per year or $60 per month and maybe I get back $200. They could do better and still make money. That is the reason for three stars out of five stars. The interface and claim submittal is extremely easy and straightforward using a smart phone. Log onto their website and take a picture of your invoice, answer a couple questions and awway you go...

Payment for illness claims are often very slow. Wellness payments are faster though I often have to appeal a decision because proper attention isn’t paid to the facts of the claim.

Decent insurance but they take 30-45 days to pay. If you have a big bill it will have to wait for reimbursement. They never used to take this long.

They were initially great when I have been using them almost 9ths now but within the last 1-2 yrs they are extremely slow with processing claims and then I do not understand half the bills as my dog has been sick going to vet almost monthly when certain things covered once and then next time there a copay or deductible.
