Easy to submit claims, some claims get approved quickly, others take much more time. The ones that take more time, not sure always why.

I love that Pets Best provices both preventative and emergency care. My 5 1/2 year old Springer Spaniel has needed both! My dissapointment is how long it takes to get re-imbursed. My ESS was diagnosed with lymphoma and the chemo bills add up fast. I ended up taking out CareCredit because I couldn't see myself putting thousand of dollars on my existing credit cards. I just hope the payouts come before my 6 month credit comes due and I will have to pay interest at 27.9%!!!!!!!!

Every claim I have submitted has taken a very long time to process. I just feel that It shouldn't take a whole month to process a claim that is very simple. I'm unsure to why I always have to reach out to the vet to get additional information. I thought that it was the insurance responsibility to do so. My monthly payment for the service is always paid on time, and would just appreciate things being completed in a more timely manner.

We have submitted three claims. The first still hasn’t been settled. The second two have. The first is the largest claim and I don’t understand why it’s not completed.

Pets Best has decent coverage for a resonable price. I recently made my first claim and the reimbursement period was about 30 days. I felt that was excessive for such a straight forward vet bill. All expenses were covered that should have been, which I did appreciate. However, I do not appreciate the way they calculate their reimbursement amounts. I was charged a 20% co-pay on expenses that I was fully paying, before I met my deductible. Therefore, my deductible ended up being $600 instead of $500 because of that 20%.

Customer Service is very easy to reach. The app doesn’t actually work, however the claims process on the website is easy and straightforward. My biggest issue is that reimbursement takes FOREVER- they say it can take up to 42 days and I’m convinced they use the entire time just to hold onto the money as long as they can. My pet has chronic issues, and her routine meds for those used to be reimbursed rather quickly, but no longer. Makes it difficult to manage credit card bills.

We pay 116$a month for coverage and they've paid hardly anything out towards our dogs care. 150$ out of a vet bill that was $1080 for a spay and gastroplexy to prevent stomach turning in our Great Dane. Very disappointing.

Our BestWellness endorsement is the only endorsement where we offer reimbursement for a pet’s spay or neuter. The BestWellness plan covers up to $150 of the total cost of the surgery. If you subscribe to EssentialWellness or do not subscribe to a wellness endorsement at all, there would be no coverage for a spay or neuter, as preventative care is a direct exclusion of our Accident and Illness policy. Unfortunately, Gastropexy for the prevention of stomach torsion is not covered by any of our policies, as it’s an elective and preventative procedure, which is excluded. You can find your Policy Information and exclusions under Documents and Forms in your account on our website. If you’d like, we’d be happy to go over your claim and coverage concerns with you. You can contact our Customer Care Team by calling (877) 738-7237. Our phone hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. MT and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. MT. I have already had to request some refunds and some of them took too long to receive a response, in addition to the refunded amounts being much lower than expected. I don't know if it's a good plan, I'm evaluating other options now.

Good to have. But really doesn’t cover much, so you can incur considerable expenses for pet care and not receive much back. For example recently had a bill for about $350 and got only $70 back. They have such limitations on coverages. Actually looking for more competitive options.
