Overall, I have been pleased with the insurance. However, there was recently some confusion with a claim (for no obvious reason since all the appropriate documentation had been sent, more than once). On 3 separate occasions, I spoke with 3 different people. All were quite polite and each one assured me that the problem had been solved. It had not, generating another email asking for an invoice (which had been sent more than once. Very frustrating and time consuming.

As much as I want to continue my coverage, this is incredibly expensive. Over multiple years, I have spent more on this than my and my spouse's insurance combined, expecting a moderate pet bill would be covered. My first claim in nearly 3 years barely covers two months of premiums. I will be much better off canceling and paying everything out of pocket.

One of the features that was supposedly rated Pets Best above their competition was their rapid reimbursement of claims. My last claim, which was a simple illness took over 2 weeks to get reimbursed.

My previous reviews were always a 5, but since Pets Best was bought out, it is becoming increasingly mire difficult to get reimbursed for expenses. It seems like every time I submit my receipts, they have yet again, with no notice to their customers, their processes. These are not new expenses, but the exact same ones I gave been submitting for six years. Please bring back the old Pets Best…..

Had to cancel the wellness coverage on my dog. Not much value if any in it. Now I am having to dispute something that should have been covered in the first place.

I am glad my pets have insurance but I am not sure that I would choose Pets Best for any future pet. To start with, when I got my dog the insurance was $250 per year and now it is over $900 per year. Also, if you select lower coverage rates (70% reimbursement, $250 deductible, no physical therapy coverage, etc.) you can never upgrade it. So as my dogs are getting older and I would like for them to have hydrotherapy or a lower deductible, it’s completely not possible despite paying $900 per year.

Claims process takes too long. Customer service staff friendly and knowledgeable most of the time. Last call when I asked about the explanation of benefit the customer service person wasn’t able to answer saying she couldn’t see any information on her screen that it takes a while to appear on her side. Otherwise portal easy to use and upload.

I have had the same pet insurance for the last 4 years supporting my our Chocolate Lab and German Shepherd. My Chocolate Lab is now 7.5 years old and has had hip and joint issues. He has had to have surgery on both legs, specifically the knees. To my surprise, Pets Best has a "Bilateral" section to where if there is an issue on one leg, they cover for insurance. If there was another issue one the other side leg, no matter how long in between occurances, insurance does not cover it due to the Bilateral clause. I do not agree with this and I think there should be room for negotiation to have the bilateral issues covered.

When I look at what is covered and paid for with this insurance, I question if it is worth it. My vet charged about $700 for a wellness check, tests and vaccines. Insurance paid onlly $235. With the insurance price going up, I may just pay out of pocket.

Takes a really long time to get claims completed at least for new pets. Seems to be going faster now. Phone app doesn’t always work so that’s kind of a bummer. All in all though I would Recommend this insurance. Good prices and the coverage is good.

Does a good job responding to claims in a timely fashion, however, actual payments can take a long time to process. There were also some significant increases in premiums from year to year. All-in-all I am satisfied with them given other options but some things could be improved JJ

Sometimes they cover things and sometimes they don’t. Really disappointed that allergy exams and medications are for some reason not covered.

I picked 3 stars because I feel the Pets Best insurance is rated Good in my opinion. I have wellness which I feel that if you say you cover immunizations then you should all vaccines not pick and choose which ones. In my recent claim they covered $0 for Lyme vaccine why not really sure. So out of over $250 vet bill I received approx $90. Not sure another insurance plan would be though
