Claims are processed fairly fast but coverage is inconsistent and your premiums are insane.

the website and app are pretty easy to use.. I've been a member a few years and never used it till this year. It's about 30 min wait if you want to talk to anyone. Customer support is friendly. Like most insurance, they want to find a reason not to pay out. Still not sure how some were denied but it's not worth the wait time to call and live chat is a robot, not a live person.

The insurance is an overall hole was okay. The timeliness of some of the claims was backlogged. However, my overall concern is the fact that the premiums continue to skyrocket which makes it difficult to maintain coverage.

Rates increase over the life of the dog, along with the health needs of your pet, and it feels like the coverage decreases. The staff is awesome and helpful when you call - which is amazing. But it's insurance, so they are going to follow policy. Despite long-term, on-time, reliable payments over the life of your (potentially very healthy) pet, they will still read the fine print and support you financially through challenging times (as the dog ages) as little as their policies allow. Fun. :)

I would say it’s ok. If my dog wasn’t old I would shop around. Watch claims closely as sometimes things are not applied correctly. It’s also hard to tell where you are with for your deductible. I also didn’t realize if you’re covered at 80%, that means only 80% of qualified expenses goes toward your deductible, not just after you meet it. It’s ok. I’m glad I have it but there may be better out there.

I don't understand the explanations when I don't get coverage for certain items. For example, for the 3 year rabies shot my dog just got, the coverage was less than a third of the cost, and the explanation was "the annual maximum wellness amount for these wellness services has been paid." I thought coverage for things like Rabies shots were covered seperate from "wellness visits"

You guys are incredible picky for paying even small amounts. My cat was getting its vaccine three days to early or so and you did not pay for it because you already did for this year. A bit of flexibility in these things would be nice.

Logging into account cumbersome, action on claims good.

They have been very responsive and helpful with reimbursement when things come up. I think the only thing that gets difficult is the prices increase significantly over time. I appreciate the support when things go wrong though the prices are frustrating when it increases this year by $30 dollars a month. I get that increases happen it was the month of a jump in a single year.

Mostly good claim processing. Sometimes the webapp doesn't seem to work. They keep raising my premium - it tripled over a couple of years.

I’m glad I was able to get a policy when my dog was >10 years old, but I question every year whether the insurance is any better than just saving the premium money and having it available to use for the dog’s medical care. I pay a lot for the plan, and only a percentage of eligible items count against the deductible, then once you meet the deductible, you still have to cover a co-pay for covered items. If you’re concerned about your dog getting cancer, it could be worth it. Otherwise, likely not.

Take forever with lots of ghosting and/or needeless (and repetitive!) back and forth. But they seem to try.

The explanation or coverage is not clear at all and I don’t understand how some of the decisions of coverage are made. Not too happy I switched from my last pet insurance I was with for the last 5 years

Quick claims processing. Wellness benefits are good. Website transmission issues caused duplicate claims; frustrating.

I use them because they are one of the cheaper insurance companies but they take a while to reimburse me and they won’t do pre approvals for pets procedures. They try to tell me that my pet has pre existing conditions however the pet in question was never actually diagnosed with a condition the vet was trying to figure out what the condition may be and they wanted to deny paying for the tests ran by the vet stating it was pre existing. But you get what you pay for. They seem to be getting better payment wise but their customer service isn’t too bad I’ve had worse .

I was dispappointed to learn that my reimbursement request was rejected because I didn't submit it within 180 days. I was about 30 days late. I missed the fine print when I signed up.

This insurance has disappointed me in their pay out of vet services tha were done on my pet. They don't pay for ear infections that appear in my dog at different times because they consider this ongoing. But they come months apart for each one so I guess for the life of my dog her infections will never be covered as a new illness. And the cleaning and treatment performed to help make ears better also isn't covered as they say it is ongoing but in reality she has been treated and cured of that infection and then will get one later. Just disappointed with it all. I'm not saying they don't pay but not for everything that I thought they would.

Things that I think are covered are not. I don’t agree with some of the denials.

Their time to process claims varies bit has been better lately. Their website is maddening if you try to submit your claim that way.
