The coverage seems good but the process when you make a claim is long. In my case it has been almost 2 months and just got settled Friday. I haven’t gotten my reimbursement payment yet either.

I’ve been with Pets Best since my dog was a big puppy. It seems that every year they raise the cost exponentially high and each year they find more things they won’t cover. I would change companies. However, because my dog has chronic ear infections they wouldn’t be covered by a new company. So they have you between a rock and a hard place. Other than one hospitalization as a puppy, in the 11 years I’ve been with them, I’ve probably used pets best twice a year for the ear infections and nothing else, because they don’t cover anything else she needs. If they would charge according to the need, I could understand raising prices. But I pay more insurance for her than I do for myself.

The app was not working and would not accept a picture of the invoice. On the website it also would not accept a scanned copy of the invoice. I tried emailing the invoice as well. Eventually - after numerous attempts was the invoice accepted and approved for reimbursement. Others may have given up. I pay $198 per month for two dogs. Claims should be easier to submit,

It’s disappointing that my policy increased end of last year due to my dog having more costs. I think the policy should stay the same regardless of my pet having health issues arise.

Pretty responsive with my claims, so I like that. The EOB is clear and accurate, as far as I can tell. The website issues that made logging in difficult seem to have been fixed. Our pet has been insured for two years going on three. In that time my annual premium has increased close to 80%. Overall, for our pet's needs it still seems to make sense and having peace of mind is nice, but the rapid increase in costs are troubling. At this rate it in a year or two it will cost more for my health insurance than my pets.

I have paid for this insurance for 6 years and when I needed to use it, it took 5 weeks for them to process and approve the payment. My dog had 2 fractured teeth and I considered root canal instead of extraction. The company could not tell me the root canal treatment would be covered until I submitted a claim. So, I went with extraction which was only $600 for the two premolars. Disappointed I had to make that choice.

We’ve had majority good experience with Pets Best. Our rate has unfortunately gone up significantly, but we do utilize our plan every year. The system outage back in October/November was a huge negative. We’ve also had a claim processed incorrectly before. Besides these things, everything else has been good.

Every claim that I have submitted in the last 5 years has been delayed. Always the same generic message, please be patient more claims than usual have been received. I have had other pet insurance companies in the last 20 years, this is the only one that consistantly delays payments. With the other companies I would use my credit card to pay the vet and have received the reimbursement prior to the bill coming in. Never with Pets Best

Overall, my claims got processed, but there was a huge headache with the medical records. I loaded them via the portal, but for some reason they weren't accepted so my claims took just about 2 months to process. Even now they aren't fully processed as they closed some claims saying that they could be reopened when the medical records were loaded. Who knows when that'll happen. All I can say is if you use them, make sure your pets medical records are loaded and confirmed before submitting a claim.

The insurance itself is great. Lots of coverage and options. The claims processing is not great. The representatives are fine but processing times are 30 days or more even for repetitive services. Medical records are often requested for services we get every month which further delays processing.

In general, my experience has been good. There are occasional delays with payment processing, but I do appreciate that during those delays Pets Best is good about communicating what is going on and making sure we understand the delay.

very easy to use, a month ago I would have recommended without reservation. However, my premium just went up 25%. I called to talk to Pets Best about it and waited on hold for 45 minutes which hasn't happened before. The phone agent was polite and knowledgeable but ultimately unhelpful in the face of the massive price increase. If there is a price increase like this again it definitely won't be worth it, and I will shop around now to compare prices.

Filing a claim fairly easy process although claim reviewers obviously don't read the notes added to claims as errors occur quite frequently because notes ignored. Claims can take weeks to settle. Reimbursement payments can also take a week+ to receive via auto-deposit to bank account. Plan on keeping detailed notes and copies of invoices to track the progress of your claim through to the end.

They pay out what they say they will, but they take forever to reimburse you! They told me it would be 10-25 days to get reimbursed and I'm on day 32 and still haven't been reimbursed. I pay my premiums on time every month so not sure why it takes them so long to reimburse. So now I have a $1,050 vet bill on my credit card that I have to pay for out of pocket until I get the money from them!
