They keep closing claims even though I have documented emails that show records are being sent from my Vet to Pets Best and I keep having to call them to reopen the claim.

Very dissatisfied given that Pets Best does not cover common, basic prescriptions like Panacur and other antimicrobials used to treat common infections like Giardia.

So far not the best experience, they are short money wise on all refunds vs. previous insurance. Probably should have kept previous insurance.

From 8/8/25 It's so strange that the more I send, the more pushback I get. CostCo Pharmacy cannot list Bear's name on receipt but Vet info does along with which the prescription is being filled. (2nd resubmit, I highlighted & drew arrows since all the info was on the photo copied vet & CostCo receipts.) Why what worked in past doesn't work now? Third time I've submitted, third time I have been told they need to be resubmitted. Soution: Since I just renewed my 2nd year membership with Pets Best in March 2025 for $416.+, I will continue submitting the Vet printout and CostCo receipt (& Bear's name handwritten) while I line up a more accommodating pet insurance.

The good: easy submission of claims with quick claim review and direct payment to bank account The bad: your deductible is 120% of your chosen amount, because they only credit 80% of a paid bill towards your deductible, claiming the other 20% as a "co-pay" (even though the customer paid it). I have worked in human health care for 40+ years and have never seen an insurance company deduct a "co-pay" amount when calculating how much of the deductible has been met. The ugly: after 4 years of no claims, my premium this year doubled to $3,000 for one dog (I will own this as my mistake, as I did not check on the new premium before auto-renew occurred. It did not occur to me that the premium would increase by 100% - my bad)

Takes forever to get claim reimbursement and doesn’t clearly state what is covered in the top tier pls . Feel I am overpaying for sub par coverage.

Pets best is easy to submit a claim, however the processing time is abysmal. Every time I’d submit a claim I get an email 3 weeks in stating that it’s “sorry for the delay” and that it “typically doesn’t take this long”. But it’s every time, so that is typical. Then it takes about another week from then.

The bill for our dog dental work was close to $1100. I submitted multiple times the required documents , as well as the vet. Remboursement $80. We expected a minimum of $200 after the deductible. Extremely disappointed.

Found contradictory info on web site.For example in one place it was stated that a vet prescribed food would be covered by the plan but I was told by a representative that this wasn't so. I have submitted hundreds of dollars of vet charges but have only recieved 20 dollars in reimbursement. Will probably change to another company.

I pay $80 a month for both of my cats, yet the maximum coverage for the yearly wellness is $125/150each. I am most likely going to end my coverage with pets best and just move $80 into an account every month, because it would far surpass the $150 coverage.

While I do love the unlimited coverage, claims process is excruitatingly painful and long. When you have a pet emergency or illness and get a huge bill from the vet, the last thing you want to do is wait weeks to have your claim paid out. There are other carriers that pay out in 2-3 days. I'm not sure if I'd sign up with Pets Best again if we got a new pet in the future.
