Our dog has gotten himself into lots of trouble - broken bones, digestive issues from eating things, parasites, you name it. We have spent thousands on his medical bills for his accidents. A fraction of our payments have been recovered via pets best. However, their annual fees are so incredibly high, it hasn’t yet paid off for us. When speaking with a pets best representative this year about whether to continue our policy, she suggested that if we didn’t continue our plan, our dog’s prior accidents (broken bones, stitches, digestive issues, etc) would be considered preexisting conditions in any future plan. Absolutely unbelievable and such a scummy way to run a business. I would definitely shop around. I have no loyalty to this company after 4+ years.

The initial year costs were very manageable. Their policies are tightened but my renewal increase for 2 dogs was over $300 for the year, that’s a steep price for 2 rather healthy dogs. They do take a couple of weeks to process a claim. Ok company to work with but in the future would shop around first.

The service has gone extremely downhill since PetsBest was acquired by another company. Claim processing takes almost a month then they increased my premium 25% for renewal when my pet has minimal claims, is in perfect health, and she has been covered by PetsBest for almost her entire life. It's extremely disappointing to see the decline

There’s just so much stuff now covered on normal visits and on even bigger visits like getting your pet neutered.

This insurance company was prompt and accurate in their insurance payments. The last two years, I have felt that they find reasons to refuse the claim. I think I sent a claim 3 times online and one in the mail, and spoke to Customer Service 2 to 3 times. I was told it was under review and it looked good, and then the next thing I hear it was refused. If my dog wasn’t seven years old, I certainly would change insurance companies. I’m kind of stuck here since it’s always good to start your pet insurance when they’re puppies.

From $640 I paid the vet , pet best payed me only $175 dollars !! I think I would radar cancel !! What a scam!!

Takes weeks to get a claim paid. Very inconsistent on what gets paid out. Overuse the “previous condition” line so that nothing ever gets paid out. I will be canceling my policy

When I submitted 2 claims a month apart for different well being events and new illness, was informed that records would have to be obtained from the two diffenent vets before proessing - which would be delayed- could take place. i was disappointed in Pets Best policy.

Very expensive and it's easy to meet your annual limit because it's so low! I pay about $55/mo for my 6 years old dog who doesn't have any health issues and even with this insurance I pay over $400 in annual checkups.

My price keeps rising, and my insurance keeps leaving me underwhelmed by how little it truly covers, all while making it painful and slow to be reimbursed.

Unhappy with the quick determinations. Our puppy has been going through all sorts of tests to determine what is going on. It was determined she had preexisting conditions… so any time our dog itches or vomits which is common and often due to many possibilities it will be denied?

It was very frustrating to get my claim reviewed and paid out. When it was finally paid I got about 1/3 of my money back.

I'm not sure if it is worth it to have insurance as every time I've submitted a claim I get next to nothing back. I will likely not renew.

Didn’t get proper information. Communication is basically nonexistent. If I would have saved my premiums it would have covered my bill. Very disappointing

I have had Pets Best insurance for over 5 years, my annual subscription is up and they just doubled rates. Last year I also had the prices double. It’s disappointing. I have 3 dogs, I’m switching insurance on 2. I’m stuck with PB for the third due to old age and preexisting conditions. I paid them for years with no sick dogs, now my dog is sick and the prices are almost unaffordable. ☹️ It’s great if you have younger, fairly healthy dogs.

It's okay. Takes a long time for reimbursement and claims. Price is not worth it especially with deductible. Not much value in the plans.

Policy should be revised to better service the consumer(customers). Insurance should refund vet medical bills instead of saying that coverage is only 1 time reimbursement for the whole year. Doesn’t really makes sense for having insurance if we won’t get any reimbursement more than once.

I had such high hopes for this co. and wanted to rate them higher. But though they are very polite and patient they just didn't pay the cost of the claim I sent .I desperately need it and don't understand. Yet it took them over a month to come to that conclusion. One of the doctoctors said they had to send them the info 3 times.

The amount of time to be reimbursed is extremely long. At least twice I tried to explain that one of the things submitted was just an estimate and I was trying to get someone to call me with an approval or just let me know if it was covered or not, and I called twice And talked to two different people and it just came back as not covered. Also, there is no record of the deposit for the one item that was supposed to be covered in my bank account. I’m not sure if they sent it or if that is considered to be part of $1000 deductible. Again communication seems to be very poor.

The claim process is way too long. Even after approval payment has still not been paid to direct deposit.
