What can I say, it's another insurance company. They constantly avoid covering anything. They delay responses, complicate claim submissions, constantly request additional documentation that is irrelevant. They have quite the algorithm for calculating their share of reimbursement - with hidden allowable limits per line item, systematically selecting lower line items to contribute their portion, while limiting the higher line items. It's all bogus and smokescreen.

I bought this to save me money. I’m basically an 8 1/2 week old puppy being seven months now this has cost me more than I paid for the insurance. You’re better off, taking the money out of your pocket and paying the bills as they come.

Was disappointed with the coverage of our annual wellness care visit for our pooch. Out of $199 in charges, insurance only covered $95. The reasons given were that we had met the limit for the year already. Well, if it is an annual visit, how could we have met the coverage limit already? Not happy with the value of having this policy.

Used to be a great site for pet insurance. Unfortunately, over the years they have started to cover less and less and premiums have more than doubled. If you want to pay way more than most places and not get reimbursed for much, this is a great site for you. Otherwise, get insurance somewhere else!

For what I pay monthly versus what gets reimbursed, I'm finding it's really not worth it. I pay almost $140/month for a dog with no health issues, but my premium has doubled because he's 9 years old. His yearly vet exam was $500, but the insurance is only reimbursing $155. It may be worth the money if your pup is accident prone, but it's proven to be a collosal waste of money for our family.

You pay an arm and a leg for subpar insurance.

I was highly recommended to this pet insurance by close friends of mine. Unfortunately my experience with my first ever claims took more time than expected to resolve. My first claim took about two months to be resolved and it was resolved only after I had to call multiple times and repeat myself about how my puppy is very young and there is absolutely no more medical records the doctors could possibly add or submit. The medical records were added through the app but the insurance kept playing a back and forth with me about not having medical records. After my final call with the insurance, I had to get very up front and firm about how I keep getting asked for the same thing and every time I have to call in and say the same exact thing of how the medical are uploaded and there is no more records for the vet to give. Finally after I had to get firm with the insurance all of a sudden the insurance claims to have gotten the records that have been uploaded for a while and all of a sudden they finally resolve my claims.

You need to add an additional comments section to your site. If a claim is pending and you ask for additional information that was already provided there is no place to send a comment. It was kicked back twice for info that was complete from the start. Need more focused claims adjusters

The first several years of being covered by Pets Best was great. No hassle, with fast and accurate claims processing. The past year or so has been exactly the opposite, unfortunately. We have to call about nearly every claim we submit, because they are processed incorrectly the first time around. They have also begun denying a few of our claims unreasonably. If we weren’t already locked in, we’d probably look for coverage with another company.

Getting refunded can take up to 6 weeks and when you have $600 weekly appointments, it becomes costly. It’s starting to become between choices of eating or paying the vet bill because I’m so far behind on payments from pets best. My credit card interest has raked up now. It was ok at the beginning of the year but over the course of 5 months of back to back weeks of $600 its become too much waiting for back logged refunds. Pets Best has made his healing process extremely financially difficult this time. Our oncology journey last year with our other dog was smooth and very easy. This is just our experience this year with our ACL journey.

The claims take a very long time to process.

You’ve taken $1400 from me throughout the year and you can’t manage to foot half of that in the recent bill? Interesting. My lawyers may find it interesting too.

It takes too long to process claims. Additionally, Pets Best says they have contacted your Vet, or says they haven't received the information back from your vet, but in fact, they have more often than not received that information. where it goes, no one knows. So I don't think they do a great job of processing claims and keeping their files in order.

We had the highest tier and yet so many things are not covered. Why are preventative treatments not covered. Why is only about 1/4 of flea/tick/ heartworm only covered? Very annoyed. In the end, our biweekly rates were much more just our yearly exam and vaccination. Rather defeats why we pay premium. Not worth it in my opinion. We are weighing cost of emergency care rates now. If it sounds too good chances are it is not all that

This is my first year with Pets Best and I am stuck in the middle with whether or not to renew. Below are some benefits/ concerns. Pros • 24/7 vet support has seriously been one of the best parts of this insurance. Friendly, quick and thorough. •Relatively well priced to receive 80% coverage •Emergency coverage is worth it •very friendly customer service! Cons •The LONGEST processing times for claims. Never fails, I will receive an email about a “delay in processing”. For someone that has a special breed who is seen by the vet often- this ends up being a tedious waiting period. •The wellness plan is NOT worth the money. I’ll definitely be cancelling this. Doesn’t cover much where a vets wellness plan will cover 100% of specific wellness visits such as: dental work, fecal/blood tests, heart scans etc. I highly recommend AGAINST the Pets Best wellness plan. It really just cost me money to have it.

I am not impressed with this insurance. You should be able to cancel your subscription as easily as you signed up - not the case. You have to call their service desk to do so. Additionally, you can’t contest claims easily either - also requires a phone call. I filed my first claim and they mis-categorized a charge and denied it.

They paying back for office visits for a well visit, it is a max of $50 per year, not per visit. When you have a puppy the 1st year you go a lot to get their shots, but they won't cover the visits if they already paid out the $50 max. Also,, they don't pay office visits if the dog gets a shot by a licensed vet tech, only if the vet gives the shots. Where the declaration page says " 50.00 max", it doesn't state per visit or per year, but it's per year. Next year I will only take the accidental and illness policy only, I'm already in the hole with monthly payments and.what.they give back for shots and we'll visit reimbursements.

Inept claims processing and customer service; I had to email more than 5 times and give them the same information to finally get a claim to process and they denied a portion of it due to misunderstanding the records. I had to spend hours on the phone because they would only send auto-generated email responses. At least it’s cheaper than other options. The agents were nice.

A 495.00 bill for a well checkup plus annual vaccinations and you cover 95.00 company stinks! And if I could I would search out another pet insurance company!

5/10/25 - First time submission since I chose Pets Best. Timeliness was a big issue. Submitted original claim, told it was unreadable and consequently mailed out documents. Called every week as there was no action. Was told it took 3 weeks to receive and process to my account. Waited 3 weeks only to find out my claim was closed. Submitted claim again and waited for my vet to submit more documents. Finally claim was processed and my payment. Never had this issue with timeliness with my previous pet insurance.
