they don't reimburse for the wellness plan unless its 365 days after his last check up, so if you go 350 days for your animals shots and flea medicine and what ever they don't cover it. Waste of money.

Hi Lyndsay, the wellness plan has set limits per year, per item. If you use up all the wellness plan offers you have to wait until your policy renews to have the benefit available to you again. Have a good day.

Not worth the $36 dollars a month. I will be cancelling. I just turned in a bill that was 550 and they didn't even cover any of it. My dog had a horrible hot spot and they didn't even cover the medicine for it. OVER IT.

Claims take way to long and it’s hard to get someone on the phone. I will be canceling my policy after a year and find a new pet policy!

The lag in time between submitting a claim and it being processed is unacceptable. It sometimes takes 35-40 days to get a claim processed. The company needs to hire additional underwriters ASAP. I wish I could leave and go to another provider, but given that my dog’s chronic condition would be considered a pre-existing condition elsewhere, I’m trapped.

I don’t really like this insurance they are to slow to make the refund I have been waiting for like a month when I get the this insurance for my dog they was telling me what was covered but after I took my dog to de vat they was saying something different

This company readily withdraws my payments every month, but it takes 30 days to process my claim of $290 to only refund me $17. If I had save such montly payments, I would have covered the entire bill. Not worth it.

Hi Erika, our claim processing time takes 15-20 days for medical claims. If your claim is delayed its likely due to missing information. Please contact us so we can review your claim.

I am very unhappy with how my claims have been handled. I submitted vet bills for the first time for my two kittens. Pets Best requested additional information from the veterinarian, then closed the claim when they did not receive a reply. I called my veterinarian and they had no record of a request for information. The customer service reps are pleasant on the phone but my concerns are not addressed. I’ve called numerous times regarding a large bill and after several months I still have not received reimbursement. Once again they closed the large claim without any reimbursement (amount is well above my deductible). VERY DISSATISFIED

Hi Gail, thank you for your review. Claims are closed after a certain amount of time of not receiving the information requested. You are welcome to gather the information from your vet and submit it so we can finalize the processing of your claim. This pet insurance policy is ripoff. Pets Best does everything they can from weaseling their way out of paying their share, and once they finally agree they will reimburse you their share they never send a check. I would have been better off not paying the $400 for the policy and using that money to pay for the vet bills.

Very disappointed in Pets Best. I would definitely NOT recommend this company. They are not paying claims properly. This company will take your money!

I had to spend almost $700 in 2 appointments for my pet and you covered ZERO dollars. It is at this point that I question why I even have you.

Hi Scott, part of that claim was for wellness care which you have maxed out the benefit. The illness claim did not meet your selected $500 deductible for the year. Let us know if you have other questions.

Response time is quick but the value is extremely poor. I would have saved so much money by not investing in this insurance.

Hi Kristin, Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits. We provide the wellness information prior to enrollment so you can determine if this plan will benefit you or not. You can purchase the insurance portion on its own without the wellness. Great when dog was young. Premiums increased exponentially every year to the most outrageous and unconscionable level. Always some excuse not to pay. Co pays ridiculous. If human healthcare was run like this no one would be able to afford it. To say nothing of the fact that it covers hardly anything. A MAJOR SCAM

Hi Wendy, we are an accredited insurance company which means rates will change as your pet gets older. We have options to help lower your rates. Copays are selected by the policy holder upon enrollment and we do not change the policy structure unless you request to do so. Not only has my insurance gone up significantly every year, they provide poor coverage. When i did need the coverage, it took almost a month to pay my claim. The best coverage I can get through Pets Best is with a $200 deductible while other plans offer a $100 deductible, pets best does not. Take home meds are also not covered while other plans do. I will be cancelling my insurance at the end of my term if not sooner. Never been more disappointment with this company. When you need them the most you will have to choose between what is best for your pet and what you can afford. I have better coverage on my auto than on my pet.

Hi Armand, we too offer a $100 deductible but you chose the $200 deductible when you enrolled in your policy online. If you wish to start a new policy with a lower deductible, give us a call, we are happy to help!

Almost nothing is covered under any of the plans and they routinely try to find a way to make sure you get the smallest reimbursement possible.

Extremely slow, expect delays on processing claims. I'm dont recall standard 60 days wait time when I enrolled Pets Best Health Insurance.

Hi Kimberly, our processing time is not 60 days, its 1-29 depending on what the claim is for. Claim delays are caused by incomplete filing or if the vet has not provided the medical records requested. We are happy to look into your case and why its taking your claim 60 days to process.
