I've had this insurance for 3 1/2 years when I go an 8 weeek old puppy and never had a problem except for the time it takes to process a payment for a claim. If they don't owe you, it is processed in 3-5 days, but if they need to pay, get ready to wait at least a month or more??? Next issue I had was I adopted a 4 1/2 year old Sire with perfect health, hips etc and he lacerated his foot. Well pets pets wanted 12 months of medical records on him... He had never been to the vet for any health or injuries as he is in perfect health, and the breeder gives all vaccine injections. I sent them his AKC health, hips etc paper work and they wanted to close my claim because they wanted 12 months of vet history for a lacerated foot. Still waiting on that claim to be processed even after calling them.. They are quick to take your payment, but slow or null at wanting to pay out. U was happy with them, but not so.much anymore.

It is painful to get reimbursement. The claims are often turn down with no good explanations. It often take two to three tries to get reimbursed.

Almost impossible to reach them by phone and it takes forever to process a claim. They need to hire more people. However, when I have spoken to them they have all been extremely nice. They do have notification alerts when a claim is received, delayed and processed which is a plus.

Takes very long to here back after a claim is placed. Some stuff is very hard to determine as far as what is covered and when you meet all they will reimburse back to you.

Hi, if you have not received your reimbursement check after 21 days, we recommend you reach out to customer care so we can reissue. Please keep in mind you also have the option to be reimbursed via direct deposit.

My claim was submitted and reimbursed in a timely manner. They are still hard to get a hold of to speak to a live person.

Was disappointed with the response timing and upset with my refund. I honestly thought by the description of the policy I was lucky and going to do well with future visits from the vet. Unfortunately I think I got the wrong policy and have to wait out the year before I can upgrade to what I need or to switch policy holders

I am paying for the “ 90 % “ , and wellness insurance coverage for my senior cat and dog . They require a RIDICULOUS amount of duplication and documentation before addressing claims . They paid $215 of a $500 wellness visit . Better than nothing BUT NOT 90 % .

Hi, we dont offer 90% coverage for wellness. Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer. Wellness is not insurance, its a benefit meant to help you offset the cost of what you would be spending whether you have insurance or not, so its not going to pay your full bill for these wellness visits. Our wellness plans are not subject to a deductible either. You can review the wellness coverage on your portal, your policy, or our website.

I like that it is a decently cheap insurance. Claims do take more than a month to process and that is very stressful. I have tried calling for updates & couldn’t reach someone until an hour later & they couldn’t give me an update.

I have a mixed experiences. Some of the claims were processed without an issue, some claims I had to fight for, they were declined. The claim wait time is 2 + months. But overall it helped me with paying bills for my pets.

I love everything about Pets Best, except for the long claim process. 6+ weeks for approvals seems excessive.

After researching extensively pet insurance options, I went with Pets Best because of the wellness plan. I give it 3 starts because I don’t think it is a bargain now considering the cost of vaccines, and monthly heartworm, flea and tick medications. I do want to keep my Best Wellness plan because of the dental care my dog will need in the future, but I think it’s silly that I pay for spay/neutering and chipping every year. Those should be one-time add-ons and coverage should extend past 3 months of flea and tick pills. For how much I pay extra for Wellness, it really doesn’t cover much.

This information is also provided after enrollment and you have 30 days to remove the wellness if you feel it will not be beneficial. Insurance is meant to help you with the unexpected, broken bones, urinary blockages or cancer.
