I'm a new Pets Best customer, and maybe its the "Covid excuse" due to lack of staff, but I'm disappointed that recent claims are taking over 30-40 days to process. The Staff when you call to ask questioins are great, but the slow speed of processing claims is fustrating especially considering they do not have any type of "pre-authorization" service to check and see if a procedure or an Emergency Medical need will indeed be covered. I did not think to look into this before choosing a Pet Insurance Carrier and will in the future.

Rest assured, your claim processing time is a top priority for us, and we are continually working to reduce the time it takes to process claims. Claims are processed in the order they are received. On average, medical claims are processed within 39-45 days. We do offer a Pre-Authorization opportunity (a Pre-Authorization is not a requirement for any procedure) as a courtesy to our Policyholders, however there are strict eligibility requirements. If you’ve submitted a claim for the condition already, the condition wouldn’t be eligible for Pre-authorization as the coverage has already been reviewed by the previous claim processing. Once you’ve submitted a claim for a condition and your claim is processed, we send you your Explanation of Benefits for the claim. If any of the processing on the Explanation of Benefits went toward your deductible or co-pay, that means the condition was coverable. If a claim is denied or ineligible for coverage the Explanation of Benefits will show the amounts in the Ineligible column, and it will tell you why your claim was denied in the Explanation section. Keep in mind all Accident and Illness policies have a co-pay and deductible to meet before reimbursing. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee specific claims outcomes, or the payment of a claim, until all information has been received and reviewed but, we would be happy to review your claims and coverage with you. I think the review and refund back to the customer could be faster and a bit more efficient, but otherwise they have made me feel good about the coverage I have for my little man

I am happy with your insurance my only issue is your premiums are getting to pricy. It cost me more a month to insure Gaby than my uncle pays for Medicare supplement insurance.

Only reccomend buying if you have a new puppy with no issues, otherwise nearly everything is called a preexisting condition and noncovered. Slow turn around time on claims actually paid. In 1.2 years I have spent well over $8,000 on veterinary claims and have been reimbursed for a bit over $1200 with a $500 deductible each year.

Claims are easy to submit, but takes WEEKS to process. Not sure why it takes so long.

Not for individuals that travel. Pets Best does not appear to reset coverage/benefits annually.

Our policies are good in the United States of America, Canada, or any region under US government control, such as territories or military instillations/bases in foreign countries. However, if you’re moving or traveling outside the United States of America for over 6 months, you would need to cancel your policy with us. Our annual policies renew on a policy year not a calendar year. On your anniversary date with us (which is your renewal date), the deductible and limit reset on the annual policy, and if you’ve added a wellness endorsement, that’s when the wellness benefits refresh as well. We would be happy to go over your policy territory and renewal with you. Excessively Long claim processing time. Speed up your claims process. I just waited like 40 days to get a $29 claim processed. Seriously đŸ˜’ Speed it up!!!!! Two weeks max!!!!

I think Pets Best is really good for illness, but the wellness plan is not worth your money. In my experience whenever I submit a bill for necessary vaccines I get little to nothing back. When I called to ask why ,i was told the plan was just intended to offer a little assistance. Better to save the money and pay your own bills and reduce your illness deductible.

Our wellness endorsements are a set schedule of benefits that are not subject to a deductible or co-pay. Each line item on the schedule is the maximum the policy will pay for that line item for your pet in a policy year. To keep each wellness endorsement’s premium reasonable for our Policyholders, they are not designed to fully cover of all your pet’s wellness needs, but to assist you with the financial burden of your pet’s annual wellness care by providing some reimbursement of what you paid to your veterinarian for their services. The only problem I have it that this insurance does not pay in full for heart and flea medicine. Which I may choose another insurance that does. I had a total bill of 500 and change and was reimbursed only 160. When paying 60 per mo. coverage and reimbursement should be all.

Since relocating claims office to Florida the processing time is unacceptable. The Pets Best office in Boise was much more customer friendly and efficient. Perhaps time will make a difference.
