Remy absolutely loves her new food, she was beginning to get a tad fussy with her normal food, but Poppy’s Picnic is wolfed down in seconds (still trying to get used to remember to get out of freezer!!)

Hello Michelle & Remy We're so happy to hear that Remy is enjoying her Poppy's Picnic If you do forget to defrost the food (we've all done it!) then simply put a whole pack in a bowl of water. Replace the water twice and within 10 minutes you will be able to serve. Never be tempted to microwave as the bone can harden and this could cause irritation to you dog. Thank you for this lovely 5* review Much Kindness Debs and Poppy

Still early days Lola's is a real fussy eater so shes trying it on again. After reading your message about flash frying it for 10 seconds it did the trick so gonna persevere for a bit longer. She really is a madam tho so I think the problem is with her not the food

Only my fussy poochies didn’t give the food the time of day, I’ve given up with them. The food looked really good, will give the rest of the food to my daughters. dog.

My dogs love Poppy’s picnic . I also weaned a litter onto raw and the puppies love the food too. I like the fact there was weaning paste ,to start them on where there was no large bits of bone . Really useful if you are having to to start weaning early. most companies don’t do the fine paste I would love to continue using Poppy’s picnic but unfortunately they only do 450g trays .most companies do 500g trays. It is great if you only have 1 dog but I have 5 . This means I am a meal down a day . Which makes it quite expensive. This is why I only gave a good star.

My dog seemed to enjoy the lamb and beef, wasn’t keen on the chicken though.

Hello Leanne Thanks for letting us know your thoughts We're pleased to see that your dog is enjoying the lamb and beef - maybe try one of our new flavours instead of the chicken next time Thanks for this review too ! Much Kindness Debs and Poppy

The dogs eat it, which is the main thing but, being fussy, they don’t like the way it clumps together in the bowl. This means I end of hand feeding them (they’re not spoilt at all) They love the liver and venison treats but the marrow bone that was supposed to be small was much to big for them. It needs to be in smaller pieces for small dogs.

Hi Ian and your lovely dogs Thanks for the feedback. Hearing about our customer experiences is very important to us and we take it on board in product development. Our bones are in the two sizes that are suitable for most sizes of dogs. If you do want to find other types of bones do ask your local butcher - we recommend lamb ribs as they are particularly great for cleaning teeth. Much Kindness Debs and Poppy

I briefly used poppy’s picnic. I was misled by the pricing structure on the website which is for the basic product. I wanted a enhanced food. The food looked great and my girls enjoyed it. It’s just too expensive. Their packets are 10% smaller than most other raw providers, this adds up when you're feeding large dogs like Labradors. Im buying a enhanced food from a rival for £60 a month less. Sorry

Hi Peter Thank you for the feedback. We are always interested to hear from customers about everything that is unclear on our website. To explain, we have two types of food - our complete working dog mince range, RAW POWER and our complete enhanced ranges, MIGHTY MINCE and POWER BALLS. The enhanced products contain no bone so they are cookable. The minces come in 450g packs and the meatballs are in packs of 12 ( 360g) Good luck on your raw feeding journey - we wish you and your lovely labs all the best Much Kindness Debs and Poppy

Would have given a 5 star rating, however on a few occasions some of the food packs were already thawed out, on delivery. I did contact Poppy's Picnic and they did advise that it was safe to refreeze the meals. Also the revised menu (namely for the Lamb) doesn't seem to have the variety the old menu offered. All in all my pup loves the meals.

After weeks of cajoling with hand feeding and adding paste to his kibble to get him to eat, my puppy took one sniff at his new food and wolfed the lot - licking his dish clean at every meal. Definitely worth making room in the freezer!

Raffi, was not happy with the minced lamb, I served it every which way, raw, cooked, raw with butter on it, cooked with grated parmigiana sprinkled on top but no no no. Then I tried the minced chicken, now that was a success, so I think we’ve cracked it there. About the meat balls, are they meant to be served frozen?? Because they arrived defrosted.

Hello Marilyn & Raffi Sorry to hear that Raffi didn't enjoy our lamb Sometimes the changes in seasons can make a difference. The meatballs are meant to be served defrosted - Our boxes are designed to keep your food cold in transit and if it arrives cold (but not frozen) it can go straight into the freezer. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and writing this review Much Kindness Debs and Poppy

Excellent quality food, (although I haven’t tried it myself..), my dogs really enjoy it. I usually get the meat and lamb varieties, it’s good, solid meat that doesn’t go mushy when it’s defrosted. My only worry is that when it arrives here (having been packed the night before) is that the top few in the box are starting to defrost and this does concern me. Every time I’ve had to ring, the people on the other end have been exceptionally helpful and friendly. Thank you! Jan KEHOE

Dinners are Brill and as described. I do supplement with raw meals of my own as it is expensive to feed a 25 kg dog exclusively on poppy's picnic. I have mentioned packaging previously. We have had frozen deliveries of meat for us humans on a sort of enforced cardboard, would there be problems for you doing the same. It gives me peace of mind to know that a proportion of my poppy's diet has been carefully thought out by people who know what they are doing!!!
