The modern and innovative answer to an estate agents, we’re the revolution that the property market needed. Here at Purplebricks, we’re still ‘proper’ estate agents, we just do things a little differently to benefit our customers. We work longer, more flexible hours, we don’t charge commission and we let you take control as much or as little as you want. Our customers can’t get enough of this new way of selling, buying and renting property and praise the way we work after battling with the cons of traditional estate agents for too long. We know the world of property can be stressful, so all we’ve done is made it simple with great customer service and digital access to all the details and paperwork you need, 24 hours a day. Don’t just take our word for it as thousands of people each month leaving purplebricks reviews can’t be wrong. Misleading Information! A complete waste of our time viewing this property and checking in with our Financial Advisor beforehand. Went to view a property today thinking it was a fixed price because they have advertised with just the "figure" with no "Offers over" attached. The girl said she didn't notice it hadn't "Offers Over" attached to it. Hmm...I wonder if this will be corrected before many others waste their time viewing??

Absolutely dreadful. Sell with any agent other than Purplebricks; having had my experience with them is the best advice I can offer. Their TV ads are entirely misleading and I’m considering reporting them to advertising standards. Their local property ‘expert’ is a joke and conspicuous by their absence. Any issues you raise are met with total rejection I’ve had to pay their fixed fee £900 just to get rid of them. I’m now employing a professional agent and my advice is pay a bit extra and get someone who will do the job, not just enter your details into a system and let it do everything automatically. They take your money for nothing.

I don't know why everyone is so surprised. If detailed research was carried out they would realise that Purple Bricks are just not estate agents. Dealing with the most valuable asset in your life requires good solid professional advice.

Stay away from Purple bricks at all costs, shocking service from the beginning of signing up to sell my house with them, constantly being lied to, loosing house keys, and where i have had to pay to replace the locks to my house. Also failing to take proper photos, lying about viewings, totally unprofessional service, lie after lie and shocking lack of communication. ended up taking the house off the market with Purple Bricks and going to a reputable high street agent that has been fabulous so far, and every person i tell about the long catalogue of errors Purple Bricks have made, are left in total shock at how bad their service really is. They have done sod all and are the most unscrupulous company i have ever dealt with. They even had the cheek to charge me for the service, i have refused to pay them for a non existent terrible service!!! Pay for what?? I wont be paying a thing to this company!!! Also to add that i was told im sorry about your complaint, (even though staff in complaints were shocked at what i had encountered) in the end senior Purple Bricks managers lied and didnt care about my complaint. said oh well its a lifetime fee it covers you so you dont have to pay to sell a house again with us. I tell you know i would never ever sell a thing with Purple Bricks ever again. Fuming doesnt even come close. why you are still trading i dont know. You should be struck off.

I attempted to buy a house through Purplebricks and after shaking hands with the vendor on an agreed price, the property was displayed on line as 'sold subject to contract' and I duly made arrangements for a survey to take place. However, I received a text two days later from someone purporting to be a Purplebricks agent relaying a message at 10.30 pm saying the vendors had changed their minds and were withdrawing from the agreed sale because they had been offered 'much more money'. This came as a surprise since the vendor had agreed not show the house to any other potential buyers. I suspect that if the sale had been through a regular high street estate agent, I would not have been led up with the garden path paying out for a survey upfront - I am still waiting for these fees to be refunded. As for texts arriving late at night, I consider this also to be completely unprofessional. Couldn't this news have waited until normal business hours? Was it delivered in this way to put pressure on me to increase my offer - I didn't. The whole package of online property sales is fraught with difficulties, namely dehumanised contact through texts and emails (from different PB employees and the vendor) and additional risk misunderstanding as you can't speak to anyone who knows what is actually going on. Very angry about the aborted purchase and mishandling of the survey arrangements. I will steer clear of Purplebricks in future.

I tried to BUY a house through Purple Bricks and it was the most frustrating, unprofessional experience I have ever had! I went to an Open Day and asked a specific question. I was told that the estate agent would get back to me (I don't know how as he didn't take my details). I chased this question up for a week. I put in an offer and it wasn't put forward to the vendor as it was too low! There was no negotiation. I tried to contact the vendor directly but never received a response. Purple Bricks let me view the property again at the same time as the successful buyer was there! The property became available again but despite telephoning head office and the local estate agent I never had a viewing as apparently the vendor had taken it off the market even though it was on Rightmove. It was so stressful and I was a buyer with several hundreds of thousands pounds to spend! I would never try to buy and definitely not sell a property through Purple Bricks. I have read that so many people have had bad experiences trying to sell their properties but why be so unprofessional when someone is trying to buy one?

I do not advise renting through these people if you value peace and quite, the worlds neediest estate agents, ' constant texts, phone calls, emails in the first 24 hrs, 'have you done this?, have you paid this?, did you get my last text?', going on till 10 at night. 'someone else is going to put in offer in, they told me so, better get in there quick, faster faster faster. They totally ignored my request to be emailed rather than phoned, I work full time and can't answer my phone at work. They were needy, impatient, the level of contact approached harassment and i was only dealing with them for 1 1/2 days before i decided to pull out.

We have had our property on for sale with Purplebricks for over 2 months now and are now leaving them and forgoing the charges just so we can deal with a better agency! All their adverts say they save you commissary but I can honestly say that is not the case at all! Our agent Lee Martins is was very nice but seems to talk over you rather then actually hearing what you say, that just seems to be with everyone though as it wasn't just him. I had to chase for weeks to get certain things done and didn't find anything clear with them. And once they have your money they don't actually do anything to attempt to sell your house, when you question what they did they very nicely tell you about all the other houses they have sold for other people in your area... I would honestly save yourself the stress and go with another agent.

Tried to rent a property through purple bricks last month. Was told as my partner had an old ccj on his account we would need a guarantor, someone in full time employment. We put this in place and went ahead with the application and paid the referencing fees etc of over £200. Nothing happene d for nearly 2 weeks, no replies to messages left. Finally spoke to someone who advised the person managing our account was off sick so nothing had been done. I was then sent an email with the next steps re quarantor etc. On this email it stated the guarantor had to be earning 22k. At no point had this been mentioned to us prior to paying the referencing monies, although they tried to insist I had been told that, if I had why would I pay the referencing money knowing the guarantor didn’t earn enough?! As the guarantor was not earning the amount needed and we hadn’t been advised this I asked for a refund. After some back and forth with various people I was told I would have the money in about a week. That was over 2 weeks ago. Chased it up again and waiting for a call back. Service has been truly appalling and I do not recommend this company at all.

Purple bricks Stay away Purple bricks, where shall I start. Undisclosed fees, not made clear, especially the use of their conveyancing company, otherwise there is a £360 extra fee. Lost set of keys to the house, no mention of offering to pay for a new set to be cut, even though they admitted to it being their employee who lost them. "Sold" the house three times, buyers unable to get mortgages (even though purple bricks are supposed to confirm source of funds i.e mortgage in principle), total lack of communication from after sales team, who are supposed to progress chase the buyers. Ignored calls, text messages & e-mails to both the agent, after sales team & support team (repeatedly.) House off sale for a total of 7 months, due to very, very slow management by purple bricks. Once they had their fee, total lack of interest & when viewings did take place, disclosure to possible buyers that "its been off sale twice, so may take a lower offer" without disclosing why it had not gone through & even hinting that there was a problem with the house (not the case). These people are totally unprofessional. Put the house up with one of their competitors, 8 viewings within a week, 3 offers & an offer accepted for more than purple bricks could achieve. I wish I had searched more of the reviews on this company (they seem to be able to hide negative reviews on certain sites, but they are there if you look in to it further). I am now struggling to get hold of the Purple Bricks agent, so I can get the keys back for the house. Basically, they charge more than most estate agents, do not take customer care seriously & their process collapses due to very poor management/lack of resources. Be warned stay away from this company, I certainly will & will make sure that everyone I can tell does so. They are shocking & do not back up any of the claims they make. Stay away

I can only echo what everyone else has said here. The PB agent was really nice guy, came across really genuine and being honest he was out reason for choosing them to sell our house. But in hindsight it’s been the worst decision we’ve ever made. After 3 months with no firm offer or viewings we decided to get another local agent, and within 3 weeks we’ve received more than 4 offers and happy to say we’ve now sold. But we still had to pay £1,399 to PBs who done absolutely nothing to sell our house apart from telling us to reduce the asking price. I also deferred my payment to PBs until our house sold or within 10 months however as we moved to another agent they demanded their £1,399 within 7 days which I of course had to pay. We were also tied into using their solicitor which costs £1,000 or pay them £399 if we go else where. We preferred to pay PBs solicitor the £399 and go elsewhere as they did not deserve another penny from us. Do not be fooled by their tv adverts, if only we knew at the time or frustratingly done our due diligence on them at the start we would have saved almost £2,000 and sold our house ages ago. Always go for a local estate agent, they earn their commission and that’s why it costs that little bit more. PBs business model will get found out sooner or late so no one else gets hooked in and end up paying more.

We have had Purple Bricks trying to sell the apartment since September 2018. As soon as the apartment went on sale Purple Bricks notified us that there was a viewer. This was within 24 hours. We gave Purple Bricks the go ahead to show the supposed viewer the property. We then were told no feedback from this viewer. Since then according to Purple Bricks there has been three other viewers but still no feedback from any of them. We are now with our second Purple Bricks rep. She came on board not long after the flat went on sale. All this rep has done is remind us of the money due and when it’s due. If we had known this company was so unprofessional we would have gone with another estate agent. We have now been sent an invoice for a substantial amount of money and they have done nothing to try and get our apartment sold. An absolute disgrace of a company.

If like us you are hoping to save money on the sale of your property, don't waste your time with Purple Bricks. We signed up for their service and took the additional unlimited accompanied viewing service. Our property was listed for approximately 6 months before we were advised to take a marketing break. In that time we had 4 viewings, 2 of which the agent failed to attend. (The charge for the viewing service was refunded following our complaint) No further contact or advise about relisting the property was received from Purple Bricks and when I contacted them I was informed that our agent no longer worked for them. Yet we had not been contacted by anyone to introduce themselves as our new agent. It would appear that Purple Bricks sit back and wait for their fee to be due and do nothing to actively promote the sale of your property. I'm really disappointed with poor quality service we received and as a result have now gone with a more traditional estate agent which will mean more fees when we sell. So much for saving money :(

We instructed purlple bricks too market our property from start total lack of correspondence our local agent never returned our calls . We paid them £800 after the allotted time still no sale no correspondence. We then marketed our property with a proper estate agent. This agent was in contact every week in the meantime our property was still live with purple bricks. The other agent sent multiple viewings whilst purple bricks sent 2!in 24 months. One viewer said they were told by purple bricks our property was sold !!! . I would recommend pay commission to someone who’s employees know what they are doing and have interest in their job

Employed PB to sell a flat just outside London, thinking the location would mean it would sell quickly. The agent had a good pitch and I choose the option for them to show the property (vacant property) and deferred the payment by using their solicitors, BIG mistake. The agent that shows buyers around had no knowledge of the property, had not asked me any questions and (I attended the first 2 viewing) let on that she was still studying and so not fully qualified. After 2 relatively quick viewing an offer was made and accepted but the buyer subsequently pulled out without a reason. Since then there have been a couple of viewings and about 15 booked but cancelled viewing.....a more distrusting person might assume these were PB fabrications. In order to sell the property they asked if taking it to auction might be an option. But they wanted to start with a 20% price reduction. As other reviewers have stated, PB are an internet portal to advertise your property, they don’t actively sell your home. They don’t have lists of people looking for an x bedroom property in a particular area. I eventually employed another local estate agent and the property was quickly sold. However I was stilling using PB solicitor (a lot of info already received from first aborted sale). It took constant calls and emails to them and the freeholder by me to ensure the sale was processed. PB are only interested in you signing up with them, after which they have you money, either immediately or after 8 months. There is no incentive for them to sell your property. Unless you are absolutely sure the property will sell AVOID.

PURPLE BRICKS DO NOT ACTIVELY SELL YOUR HOME!!! I have to start by saying that our agent seemed like a nice guy, I felt he was just working for the wrong company, although he probably can't sleep at night knowing what said company does. Purple bricks do nothing to sell your property, no emails, advertising or publicity except on moving sites so after a few weeks your property is lost in rightmove graveyard of houses. I felt that to purple bricks we were simply a 9 month investment, they are literally counting down the days until you give them their unearned money, as sold or not they are getting your money either way. Regal sold ours yet I'm paying purple bricks more than them for doing absolutely nothing! They will even only show people round if you pay more! They have then had the cheek to inform me they'll be taking their money via email before our sale is finalised (a sale that they have had no part of just to put the boot in, I'm sure it will go in their rating as a sale tho 😉👍) and we don't have that cash on the hip, fuming doesn't cut it. I asked to be relieved from my contract before our 2 week trial was up, they said no, as I didn't realise that agreeing for their advert to go live was actually wavering this right to do so. Exactly how you're meant to see it perform to judge for your trial is beyond me. The online help person was just pure rude and repetitive, they had no excuse for the companies incompetence. I have to pay my £900 but hopefully I can save a few people their time and money by them reading this. Absolute rude, cheeky, unfunny joke, just don't waste your time, there are cheaper companies that deserve your custom.
