“Absolute garbage, make sure if you do insist on using them you have everything in writing. I'm giving up with the Ombudsman after 18months because I just can't face time and money going to court - and this is what they thrive on. Clueless, took 8 months to answer a complaint (they did email that they were sorry it was over 15 days as set out in their T&C's) and threatened me with debt collectors on an invoice they had completely gotten wrong.”
“Purple bricks put myself and my family in actual danger. Ive been renting a house through them for the past 3 years and a few months back a hole started to show in the kitchen ceiling i reported it nothing got done and after time its gotten worse. The hole is now huge, the ceiling has cracks down it and every time you run water in the bathroom it leaks through from the bathroom straight through the hole in the kitchen. Never go through them. Just because its an agency it doesnt make them safe”

“What a complete waste of time and space this cowboy outfit is. As soon as they take your money they lose all interest in supporting you. We achieved the princely sum of one viewing the whole time we were with Purplebricks. His advice was to reduce the asking price which he had obviously set far too high. On his very first visit to take photos he forgot the bathroom and had to call back-thereby delaying the entry onto Rightmove whilst still having a board up. In my opinion this killed the launch and we never recovered.
Don’t touch them-once I had disinstructed them I went back to a traditional hard working agent and my property has all but sold.”
“I'd vote Zero stars if I could. Very slow to do anything, and poorly run selling team, potential buyers have been put off. And wasnt warned I'd have to pay their fees in full UPFRONT if they failed to sell my property.
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS”
“DO NOT USE!
Purple Bricks failed to sell my house yet I had to pay their fees - although I complained numerous times and got a £450 refund against their invoice because of dreadful service from their local property experts, a misnomer if ever there was one.
I believe their policies and procedures and complete lack of customer service will ultimately lead to their going out of business.”
“I've been a landlord for 12+ years and PurpleBricks are the worst property agent I have ever used. They are grossly incompetent and charge a hefty fee for their disorganised service. I came across this review which summarises my experiences of their service.

“AVOID - use an agent that you can switch from free of charge if you're not happy. Purple Bricks are happy to take your money, but don't want to work for it. Over 200 days on the market with only 1 viewing (which conveniently happened right after complaining to them - a staff friend methinks). Only 2 phone calls in 6 weeks, & despite reducing the price by £10k they just want to keep reducing it more.
They're supposed to change around photos on the listing to generate new viewings, but we're having to do it. Over 50% of the marketed properties in our area are STC - including a similar but smaller property 100m up the road priced at £10k less than ours.
They also lie. We asked if they're chasing up people on their books to try to get some viewings, but the manager Kevin, told us they don't do that. However in our latest complaint, PB claim this has been done.
They're a ridiculous time & space who have us over a barrel & know it. Now I've got to pay them £900 for doing nothing & then commission to the new agents that we're switching to. Was trying to save money but with robbers like this its impossible to.”
“Not even worth 1 Star
two words ‘Just Don’t’
You’ve been warned - or conned -or mislead either way - link after link leads you to back to The Close Brothers hidden away inside other companies- fight back don’t bother with TPO they’re paid by Purple Bricks but The FCA are not - I would describe PB like a holiday from hell - If enough of us complain they’ll be investigated like Pied Piper of Hamlin and we all know what he led...”
“Agree with all these negative reviews! Would stay well clear of purple bricks!
Only after the money don't really care about the client or how they speak to you, awful still waiting to hear from complaints I doubt I will ever get a reply if there sales team were anything to go by left us waiting 2hours on completion day for the keys!! Had to pay extra child care and van fees a**holes”
“Like most companies, the fat cats that started the business are rolling round in their Bentley's , while the service goes down hill. They have created a front that you receive good service when in fact it is just call centers.
They had a huge call center in Doncaster which went down hill after they made more and more demand to squeeze profit out of the mortgages they tried to sell clients.
They hire good staff to list you business and then its down hill from there. I know this goes against all the positive reviews they have, but they are not the same company. Good companies dont appear on watch dog for dodgy antics like PB did!!
what people wont know is PB then shell your details out to other call centers who try selling you EVERYTHING. They are linked to MAB (mortgage advice bureau) who then over charge massively on insurances. The trouble is the advertising of the house and mortgage rates are good and people dont see it until its too late. There staff are not trained, Skilled or qualified. Just sleezy sales people.
"Anything can sell if its cheap enough " ......... Purple bricks ethos.”
“I am writing this review on behalf of my sons experience , which came to a head only 2 days ago.( 2/8/ 2019). After viewing the house last Saturday, a deceased estate ,on one of their open days, even though the property needed modernisation we liked what we saw.(27/7/2019). The property was advertised at £225,000 taking into consideration of the work that was required to update the property. The following day an offer was put forward of £5000 under the asking price. The next day Monday the 29/7/19 our offer was accepted. From that very moment my son's phone was bombarded by solicitors purporting to act on his behalf ,whom Purple Bricks recommended, to purchase the property. We decided to find a local solicitor with whom we could sit down face to face and have a working relationship with. This proved to be a bit tricky as most of the solicitors in the area no longer did conveyancing but we found one that promised to get back to us on the following Monday (5/8/2019) to get the ball rolling as it were. The purchase of the property was to be preliminary mortgage offer and cash savings. This was shown as proof to Purple Bricks and they were happy for us to continue with the process. The mortgage was to be finalised on the 6/8/2019 a full 8 days after the offer was accepted. On the 31/ 7/2019 my son updated PB of the situation as a courtesy. However just 2 days ago 2/8/2019 , PB telephoned my son to inform him if he did not tell them who his solicitors were by the end of play that day they had been INSTRUCTED by the vendor to pass the sale of the house to the next best offer. PB were then informed of the present situation and everything would be finalised in the next couple of days. This was to no avail and they pulled the sale from my son.I find this to be absolutely outrageous behaviour. As for instructions from the vendor I don't believe a single word of it.I suspect that despite what PB say about not taking part in gazumping ,this is exactly what has taken place. I urge people to do their homework on Purple Bricks and the logical conclusion would be not to deal with them no matter what they say.”
“DO NOT GO WITH THEM. They are unnecessarily harassing my family who put their house up for sale recently, and didn't realise the small print of their unscrupulous business model. They do NO work at all on behalf of the client. Unfortunately my family chose to use PB based on online reviews which are probably plants/shills. Are all the 'positive' reviews online independently verified? Has Trading Standards investigated them? The purpose of this review is to forewarn all potential customers who are swayed by the incentive of 'no commission' taken. Think again and DO thorough research before committing. The only way we can bring this concern down is through education and refraining from business with them.”

“Sighned up for purple brick, bill board disappeared, purple bricks never bothered to replace it, only three viewing in 6 weeks, ended up having to pay for another estate agent who sold my property in less than two weeks but because of purple bricks contract I still had to pay them £1,300 for doing nothing, will never recomend them to anybody highly recommend you avoid.”
“It just doesn't work well. App puts people off - not user friendly at all. Bad garden photos. Bland description of property. Moved to a proper one now. Hated having to pay them for all they haven't done.”
“I just want to echo what others have been saying really. Waste of time! Recieved an offer on our flat...was told by Purple Brucks the buyers needed no mortgage and offer was in cash from savings. All was ticking along but not as it should have been. My solicitor hadn't heard from my buyers solicitor in a while. I heard that my buyers still had to get a mortgage broker, why? If they had cash? Also their funds were coming from 'abroad. I got a very bad feeling. 2 weeks before exchange they pulled out! Reason being ,the ground rent may increase,we have been here 6 years with no increase, but all bills go up ,the cited 'personal reasons he did not want to discuss! I got an e mail from PB that day telling me sale aborted! I felt sick! My husband rang the agent as we wanted them to be more careful with buyers and asked to help us push the flat..he said to my husband' what do you want me to do'? So when the proverbial hits the fan they couldnt care less!!!They know they will get their money so do not give a damn!! NEVER use them!!!!”
“Purple Bricks cannot sell houses. Their business model does not work. Six months with them and they could not sell. I put my house with a high street agent and it sold within a week.
False economy”
