Honestly, probably the worst insurance company I have ever done business with. My experience has taught me that Rias only has their own pockets in mind. Fine considering it's a business, however when you pay for insurance, you expect a certain calibre of service in regards to the assistance provided. The information sharing is poor between departments making phone calls extremely frustrating. The level of interest in trying to assist you with your case is low. The ability to problem solve and resolve issues for customers is near to none-existent, and the excuse that a department is behind with their work is not acceptable considering we all have a life to get on with. If my policy involved being the recipient of false promises, I would have given Rias a 5 star rating hands down. You can really see why people take the gamble of not having insurance, because even when you have it, you're just legally in the same boat in claim situations. Thanks Rias for taking my money and providing a lack of good customer service. Top! Should have stuck with Admiral...lesson learnt.

I bought my car insurance following a quote via confused.com. I made sure to submit No claims proof on my account (uploading a picture of the relevant document) and also by post, just to be sure that they receive my No claim proof within the expected period of time (11 days). I went away on holiday, and on my return I received an information about my insurance being cancelled as I apparently didn't submit No claims proof. When I got in touch with them to clarify all this, they didn't listen and were generally very unhelpful and not interested. What was supposed to be a good deal turned out to be a more expensive option, costing me not only the money but time and stress. I really advise to be very careful when choosing them as insurers. I am extremely disappointed, this is the first time I had such a bad experience with an insurance company. I feel I was cheated.

I called to give a change of address and after 10 mins waiting for customer service I was told it would be £25 to change it or I had to do it online. You have just lost a customer and I shall ensure all my friends and colleagues know this.

I brought car insurance following a quote via compare the market. Paid in full for the year and then 2 days later received several emails asking for proof of no claims which I'd already sent. I called them to query it and they said they needed another £252.00 to insure me for an accident two years earlier.... that I had declared within my quote! So I then consequently cancelled my insurance as it was ridiculous and had to pay a cancellation fee. I hadn't lied to them I'd declared an accident where I was at fault and the moment I paid and took out the insurance they increased the premium and said my insurance was invalid until I paid. I'd rather walk to walk than give these sharks any money. Now insured with another company and no problems at all AVOID!!!! Only got one star for the helpful customer service man who waived my admin fee

Tried to change over from my old car to new car, as my car was a new Toyota they wouldnt even contemplate insuring it! This was after trying online to change and told if I did over the phone they would charge, even though their systems could not pick up the new car, then after 30 minutes sorting out was told they couldnt insure me. Not very helpful company at all would never use this company.

They are Gouging Pensioners by charging over 3 times the average - AVOID!! -- I just found out my 88 year old mother is paying £459.93 per year for home insurance. I only pay Admiral £135.64 for a holiday home of very similar value and property type which is unoccupied for 3 weeks of the month. I called Rias and spoke to a guy called George in Customer Service who offered no explanations or anything as to why they are taking advantage of a lady who is nearly 90. A quick look on the web reveals that RIAS is bad news I recommend anyone using them and especially if there are elderly family members check the price VERY, VERY, CAREFULLY!!

This firm is carrying out serious illegal practices. I bought 1 year's insurance in 2016 and paid a one off fee as I don't want to pay in installments. When it got to May 2017 I went on line to Compare the Market and found a much cheaper policy with another company with exactly the same cover as RIAS provided. It is obvious that anyone would go for the cheaper option so I bought a year's cover with the new company. On 8 August 2017 I came home from work to find a threatening letter in my letter box demanding also £50. If I didn't pay the demand within 7 days RIAS would send a debt collector to my property. I am a pensioner but I also work for Citizens Advice full time at present. I phoned RIAS this morning on 0800 068 1641 (a free number). I spoke to a team manager there and told her that I thought the whole thing was a scam and as I worked for Cit.A. would raise this matter with higher authorities including the Ombudsman. I told the young lady that in all the time I have been buying home insurance and car insurance I have never ever come across a company who charges them a fee for cancelling their insurance with them. RIAS Insurance needs to be very very careful what they are doing to their customers. I advise anyone that has had a bad experience with this company to get in touch with Cit.A and do not pay money up front until you have received full advice on the matter. What RIAS is doing is outside the law and should be stopped.

Claimed for damage to roof. Claims adjuster came three days after appointment day due to daughter being hit with cricket ball while playing in torrential rainfall. After making numerous excuses including a photo taken from more than 30 metres away he rejected my claim. Roofer's later came and after a proper examination told me that tile's were cracked either due to storm or seagull's repeated landings. I then submitted a claim for water damaged furniture in my bedroom. I was told that because the furniture was fitted it was classed as buildings not contents and therefore had already been rejected. Using this criteria I've worked out that only my sitting room is covered as all other rooms also have fitted furniture. Don't touch this shower of xxxx with a bargepole. George Sampson

Very difficult to deal with. They used erroneous data to link me to a non fault claim on another policy on which I was a named driver. Repeated calls and documents from the other insurer could not get this straight. In the end I was forced to pay the increased premium to secure the insurance. You get caught between different departments who don't communicate properly. They have promised to refund me when the information is sorted out. We will see. And now two weeks later a letter saying because of my unpaid balance of £0.00 (Yes really) that they are cancelling my insurance, with a warning of the legal implications of this. 20 minutes on hold to get through to be told this was an error (You don't say). And that I am insured. Had to escalate to get them to agree to put that in writing. I hope I don't get a claim.

Poor service, if you want to make a claim, be prepared to be pro-active. There not interested in paying out. Get onto the phone constantly otherwise youll never hear from the processed claim. Despite assurances they will keep you updated, they never get in contact. Alls they are interested in is your MONEY! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

0 stars wasn't an option for this despicable company! Tried to charge me an extra £200 for a non fault claim over two years ago. Spoke to several advisors to get it resolved and they assured me that i was insured, to ignore any correspondence as further action will only be taken when they phone me. Despite them telling me I was to ignore letters, I rung and spoke to them immediately when i received one. I was assured again that i was insured and not to worry. Received an email on 15 May telling me my policy was cancelled on 28 Apr. First i'd heard about it. Read the reviews on here. How many companies have one star reviews throughout. I'm currently seeking legal advice for compensation. Save yourselves the hassle and avoid like the plague. Joke of a company. Hope they go bust.
